My wife and I went away for a 4 night Anniversary getaway. It was our first time traveling without our kids, so that was taken into consideration when we booked. It was between Cambridge and a couple other resorts, we chose Cambridge partly because, at the time of booking, it was Adults only. This is not the case anymore. It's amazing how parents can let their kids run around at dinner, or bang the yellow floating rings at long bay with a piece of coral creating an obnoxious drumming noise while people are trying to enjoy peace and quiet while reading their book or just listening to the waves. All while paying close to $800/ night. It was unexpected and slightly annoying. More so looking at the parents slug down another drink while their kids run a muck. But having children of our own, we embraced it and moved on. The rooms were alittle dated, but that really wasn't a concern because they were very clean and accommodating with all your basic needs, fridge, coffee maker, plenty of towels, robes, etc. Ours have a beautiful view of the ocean and right below was turtle cove. A beautiful spot to swim and have a private candle lite dinner. We utilized room service once and that was lovely, they set up a table cloth on the patio table and brought everything we needed. Every where you look on the property is a postcard photo view, it was stunning. We wad had two spa treatments, which were fantastic. The spa was very clean and accommodating. We had a wonderful masseuse and worked out some kinda in my back, as well as my wife's. The indoor pool and hot tub was nice, as well as the sauna. Breezes, the main restaurant was good. The winner dish was the Rockfish. Very flavorful, and feesh. All the dishes really had great flavor. The steak was a big disappointment. Should definitely get some better quality steaks on the menu. The view and atmosphere were perfect, Unobstructed views of the sun set were amazing. The service, well they need more staff. The servers at the restaurants were clearly over worked. Some were grumpy and got easily confused by a simple request of "We would like the salads to some out before the appetizer." Our server scribbled out what he wrote down and then flipped another page and wrote it down again, only to have it still come out all mixed up. I am guessing they wrote it down to give to the kitchen?? Either way, the service at the restaurant needed help. One instance that really left a unpleasant impression was when after sitting for 35 minutes, staring at empty dinner plates, my wife and I went down the couple steps, eight infront of our table to snap a photo of the sunset, as we were walking up another couple asked us to take one of them (this was literally all in the span of no more than 2 minutes.) Our rude, frustrated waiter actually took thee time to come down and tell us that we needed to go back to our seats because he needed the table. It was very unprofessional. Only to go back to our table to watch him finally clear our dinner plates. Not to mention a few others couples that were actually there before us, still sitting there. Hey, trust me, I didn't want to spend any longer than I had to in the awful white folding chairs, that you would find in a church basement. They should 100% get rid of those. I will say, The server there was absolutely lovely. She is a huge asset to the team. She was a local, and it seemed all the locals we met there had the hospitality thing down pat. The implants seemed to be the snoody awkward ones. Like the one server who ran the reservation station and sat you. And who told us to sit down. Unreal. The next service improvement was the reception staff. First off I will say, I spoke to two women on the phone (had to remove names for TripAdvisor guidelines) both were lovely, helpful and polite. But then we dealt with two complete opposites, I didn't catch the ones name. We encountered her to buy a couple of bottles of water from the store. It seemed like that bothered her, and anything we asked she replied with a condescending tone that was just a real turn off. This was on two seperate occasions we noticed this with her. The other was when we were booking a taxi. Just rude, plain and simple. Another last was similar upon checking out, did not ask how our stay was etc. Just "Do you want a print out of your bill?" After paying I actually had to ask if that was all because she just went back to her computer, no hope to see you again soon no nothing. It was unprofessional. We've stayed at quite a few nice places and for an "Upscale Luxury Resort" they need get these people some training or send them packing. What a disappointment, because really everything else was fantastic, but the effects of poor hospitality really make an impact on the overall experience. We went to dinner at another resorts restaurant, and anything out of the servers mouth was "Yes, No problem." Very much different level of service/training. Overall my wife and I felt refreshed and relaxed leaving, which is ultimately how you want to feel. There were so many positives and we loved our room and stay. The few negatives I hope can be worked out, especially the service/hospitality. It makes us maybe want to explore other options next visit to Bermuda, to just not have to deal with a grumpy/rude staff. Thats the reason I deducted one star.

My wife and I spent a week at the resort in mid-July. It is one of the most beautiful places that we have ever stayed. Cambridge Beaches is beautifully situated on a peninsula on the far west end of the island just below the Royal Navy Dockyards. It consists of cottage type rooms and suites. Ours had a terrace in back with a lovely view of the Atlantic with no neighbors visible from either side. The resort has a charming old world feel and is a great place to spend some quiet time away from the hectic pace of modern life. The staff was delightful, helpful and friendly. The only critical comments that I feel that I must offer are as follows: The hotel website touts three dining venues onsite: Breezes, a casual beach grill; Tamarind, a more elegant inside restaurant and Port O' Call, a charming, pub-like environment which was decorated in a mid-century décor (probably original) which I loved the looks of. However, apparently because of Bermuda's rather draconian Covid restrictions combined with what appeared to be the hotel's struggles to hire adequate staff, all of our dinners save one were at Breezes. The menu remained the same all week except for the changing "catch of the day". I got the impression that the staff was under pressure to "turn tables" to accommodate all of the guests-particularly over the weekend when a destination wedding was taking place. Because of the rather remote location of Cambridge Beaches, the fact that it contained three different dining venues was a big selling point for us. To take a cab to a restaurant outside the resort could be a bit of a logistical struggle, not to mention quite expensive. Even though they are undoubtedly due to circumstances beyond their control, I do feel that the resort should have been more upfront-particularly on their website and Facebook Page-

We booked this trip to Bermuda through AAA Travel and we could not be more pleased with their resort choice. The resort is beautiful, located on the end of a peninsula so there are both ocean views and harbor views with several choices for beach lounging plus a pool. This is important if you happen to have a windy day. The staff is very helpful and friendly, from the reception staff to the wait staff to the lawn care and cleaning staff. The location of our three rooms had a wonderful view of the bay and the ocean and allowed us to gather and visit each morning and evening on the lawn in front of our rooms. The room are spacious and the bathrooms seem newly upgraded. The breakfast meal plan was an excellent idea. The food is good and there is enough variety offered on the menu. Conveniently located on the property is H2O Water Sports. Here you can find any kind of watercraft or equipment that you might need to enjoy the beautiful water here. We highly recommend the services that they offer. Our family is hoping that we can come back again some day soon!
