When traveling, my wife and I prefer to stay outside of cities and look for charming villages containing a small hotel with character. The village of Marlenheim and Le Cerf exceeded our expectations. Using Marlenheim as our base, we were able to visit Strasbourg and Colmar. Besides the French country side and vineyards, the real draw of Marlenheim is Le...

The hotel/guest house is a lovely quaint building in wood, with fully renewed barthrooms. Everything is clean is well arrange, breakfast is good with focus in fresh and organic products. Rooms in the first floor are rather small, and wifi is good but not outstanding.

The Hotel has a very nice ambiance. Small but very cosy rooms. The restaurant serves excellent food w an impressive wine list of Alcase wines and there is a outside court-yard where you can have lunch/dinner. I can recommend a stop.....

The rooms are not huge but perfectly comfortable. It was quiet and had a small balcony overlooking a garden. The bed was comfortable and came with two pillows each! Service was helpful and extremely pleasant. We had a drink in the courtyard before heading for dinner. The food was excellent and was very plentiful indeed. There was an interesting wine...

Beautiful location, very quiet and rooms are enough big for a short stay. I went to Le Cerf 2 times, each one for a one night stay. I went there for business near Strasbourg. Very good service, also for a late arrival we became a code via e-mail to enter the court. Also the breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed my...

Fabulous stop over on the way to Italy. Comfortable room - not particularly spacious but excellent and clever furniture - particularly in the bathroom - made the room feel more spacious and had plenty of storage and places to put wash bags etc. Good lighting too - sonething that isn't common in lots of hotels. Excellent dinner sitting in the...

We had a two weeks round trip in the Alsace wine areas staying here and there from 1 to 3 nights. In Le Cerf we stayed two. It was a very pleasant stay. Extra points for the personnel, all were exceptionally friendly and did their best to help us. For example on one day the restaurant was closed but the...

We booked online with Booking.com for 3 nights and decided to pay a bit extra for a privilege room. It was worth it - really modern and stylish. Comfortable beds, sitting area, balcony with loungers, immaculate bathroom, coffee maker, air con. Having stayed in a lot of French hotels where the emphasis is all on the restaurant and the rooms/bathrooms...

Located in a village which is just under restoration, together with a superb restaurant and very kind service from the family. It's a nice place to stay. Rooms are all in wood, small but comfortable. The breakfast room is very modern and stylish, breakfast itself is very good. Had to work afterwards and could use the patio with superb support...

And why then only 3 stars? Well the only reason is that the prices for rooms are slightly higher than you normally see in Alsace and you dont get anything extra. Rooms are small, overloaded, heavy but really nice. Its clean and the bathrooms are nice too. There is a rally nice courtyard where you can relax and have a...
