A good place to stay if you are on a business trip. Free internet, rooms are not bad, nothing fancy but functional, nice breakfast and a really good restaurant to have dinner. Although it seemed a little bit empty but maybe it was that time of the year.

We went here for Sunday lunch and although the facilities are not the most modern, the typically Black Forest food was well prepared and very tasty. The portions were also large.

It's not easy to find or access, but worth the effort.

Stopped by towards the end of a motorbike tour, what a pleasant spot. Rooms were very clean comfortable and functional. The hotel is a classic German local hotel with a more modern extension, the food was very good and served in the patio garden which was very relaxing. The staff were professional and very cheerful and coped well with All the different languages in use. I will definitely add it to my list of hotels to return to 👍 some great motorbike roads surround the hotel and are excellent.

We stayed for 2 nights at this homey, family-run hotel. The rooms weren't anything fancy, but they were very clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and yummy, and the dinner at their restaurant was delicious!! They have a trampoline and sandbox in their yard, so the kids had fun with that as well. There's no mini-bar in the room, but there's one at the reception desk, and I really liked that it was purely an honor-system for the guest to inform the hotel the next day that you'd taken something out. That's the kind of hotel it was.

It's a bit slow on service, so if that's what you're looking for, you might need to stay somewhere else. The front door is kept locked for security and you need to intercom reception to get inside, so if you're coming back very late at night, make sure you have the room key with you, as no one answered the hotel intercom.

The location (apprx 10 km outside of Frieburg) is not a problem if you have a car as it's very close to the highway, but I don't know how it is if you want to use public transportation.

For free WiFi, you have to get a username and password. The signal only worked in the reception and dining room area.

We stayed for 1 night and were given a room at the back on the top floor. It was very clean and quiet despite being located near a busy road. The staff were friendly and the room facilities were basic but what we needed. Freiburg is a 15 minute drive but we chose to eat dinner in the hotel and were glad that we did, the food was excellent. Breakfast is plentiful and you can choose from cereal as well as bread rolls with a choice of cheeses and meats. We would stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to anyone heading towards Freiburg.

We were looking for a place to stay in Freiburg and booked last minute via expedia. We had the choice between this hotel and the Hotel Colombi which apparently is THE best hotel in Freiburg. Unfortunately we didn't realize at the time.
We chose this hotel as it looked like a charming old style German hotel. At just £20 cheaper than the 5-star hotel Colombi, we couldn't have been more disappointed. The hotel is in fact a badly renovated 1970s building, with cracks on the walls and a sterile atmosphere. Dispite the facade it is not a charming old German hotel, it is just old. The staff is not particularly friendly either. Upon arrival we were just given the room keys and told to get the elevator and make our way to our room....
If your priority is saving the 1.5 Euro bus fare to the city centre you might find this place alright. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Freiburg I recommend you invest the £20 extra and go to the Colombi.

My son and I are hiking through the Black Forest and stopped for the night. After 5 hours walking we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. After an excellent meal we were able to take advantage of the spa facilities and limber up from the days activities. After a good nights sleep and hearty breakfast we’re ready to hit the road again. I highly recommend Hotel Suggenbad. I wish my wife and daughter had been able to come as they would have loved it.

Stayed for three nights. Hotel is a traditional Germany guest house at the first with modern building behind offering good size rooms and a spa. Good continental breakfast served every morning. Meals in the restaurant are of a very high standard. The staff very friendly.
The hotel also has good transport links, for exploring the Black Forest.

Great Hotel from a lovely family. Nice whirlpool and sauna area. Rooms are descent but a little boring. Maybe in need of a modern touch. Hospitality is great. The breakfest is descent and more then enough. Great thing is that a beautiful German restaurant is connected to the Hotel, so no need to go out for a good schnitzel of even more eleborate German cuisine.

A super Hotel, very friendly and keen to please. The beds were 1st class, excellent bedding and very clean.Easy distance from Freiburg and Triberg.Super traditional breakfast. If you want the German experience and not a faceless hotel, this is excellent. The menus are in German which is good if you want to practice your lingo. It is not in a town or a city so very quiet but there is a bus stop right outside and a 5 minute walk away is the train station of Buchholz and you can be in Freiburg in 10 mins.
