While travelers celebrate Estival Torrequebrada for its picturesque setting and handy transit access, the hotel's atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with some guests enjoying the tranquility and others finding the vibe lacking energy. The staff's friendliness is often acknowledged, despite occasional slow service. Visitors commend the hotel's cleanliness and room upkeep, but some have issues with air conditioning. The spacious rooms with sea views are a hit, as are the varied dining options and pools, even if some find the outdoor pools chilly. Opinions on value vary, balancing the benefits of location and inclusiveness against extra costs.

Firstly I have to say thank you to two outstanding teams in this hotel, the reservations team who responded to my many enquiries swiftly, were very informative and most importantly fulfilled my requests for room location & view, which was amazing. We were delighted with our room and housekeeping team were supremely helpful & efficient, advising us where we could refill our water & cleaning our room every day with sheets changed on request & they also granted our request for extra pillows. There was no coffee in the room but the restaurant manager obliged my request with sachets (although decaf) I was very grateful to receive them.
On arrival we werenā€™t given any information apart from the floor for food and the floor for pool. It would have been very helpful if more information was given on arrival, no info given on location, nearby shop, buses, events in the hotel during the week, I think we missed out on a lot as we did see a childrenā€™s singsong one evening in return from the restaurant and luckily we came back one evening to find a Halloween circus for guests, we had read a notice this was a private event so didnā€™t realise it was for guests, we were told by another guest and were delighted because it was absolutely terrifying & brilliant!! We didnā€™t know anything about pool games either. Of the reception team donā€™t want to give the information I would recommend a programme of events.
The restaurant team work hard & fast clearing and resetting at speed. The food selection was plentiful for breakfast & dinner with different food themes at night such as seafood, Mexican, bbq. Overall very tasty and all you could ask for but temperature is an issue and itā€™s served lukewarm at best.
Thereā€™s an adult swimming pool section separate from family which is a great idea. Bar area by pool also offering free books which I loved, not sure about toilets, I asked 2 staff members but they just said to go inside so I went to the spa. Spa is lovely, great indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna & steamroom.
Hotel is a short walk from beaches and the town but the beautiful location on the water with stunning views and in a quiet area were my reasons for choosing this hotel, however, be aware there is a playground next to the bar and we were kept awake by children playing until after midnight, I think this would be a big issue during busy summer months if you are not a party person.
I loved our stay here and would stay again if returning to the area.

Overall, great experience; I will definitely be returning. Food, entertainment, and activities around the hotel make this a gem.Ā 4/5 from my experience.

Food & Drink -
There is a great selection of food, from fish, meat, local classics, pizza, cheeses, Mediterranean meat, etc. Breakfast was of high quality. All-inclusive is perfect here; all cocktails, anything with spirit, and beers are free. You only have to pay for UK-branded cider (like Strongbow), which is not needed with the selection of free drinks.Ā

Pool Area -
The adult-only pool was great, very relaxed, and quiet. Sun loungers are always available. Water loungers, a deep (and shallow) pool, along with a kids pool over the other side (including slides, etc.).

Entertainment -
The best entertainment in a hotel I have seen for a very long time. There is always something new on the entertainment board. The entertainment crew was very welcoming and put on a great show every night!

Location -
30min Taxi/Uber from Malaga, 10mins away from Benaldena (40 min beach walk to town, if preferred). Loads of beaches with aqua activities, jet skis, boats, etc.Ā

Other -
Flying with Jet2 is always a great option when travelling, in my opinion. We had a Jet2 representative in the lobby of the hotel that helped me arrange a trip to Gibraltar, Aqua Park, and Crocidile Park.

Gym, tennis, tabletennis, and pool are all included (deposit required, tabletennis), all in good condition. There is also a casino in the hotel; I did not try it on this visit as I'm not that bothered by gambling.

Rooms were cleaned daily (along with a change of towels), and you can leave a piece of card on the bed to request the sheets to be changed.

Thanks,
Joe

Having just stayed at this hotel I can only praise it.
Yes itā€™s a bit out of the main drag but the bus stops right outside the hotel entrance and the fares are cheap and buses run all day every 20 minutes.
The food was amazing with an ample variety to suit all tastes, with a different theme each night.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. The room we had was a junior suite which was roomy and spotless, cleaned and towels changed daily. A good measure of drinks were served with wine and beer in a help yourself system. Evening entertainment was ok for free, although they do seem to love the French and it seemed to be aimed at them but you canā€™t have it all.
I agree with comments about the Sun loungers but thatā€™s nothing new & the place is big enough so we always found somewhere to lay. The 4 pools were all clean & the beach is a mere 2 minutes stroke from the pools.
All in all my experience here has been most enjoyable and I would thoroughly recommend it to everyone.

There is a lot on offer supposedly a hotel for all families, disabled, adult hotel, something by everyone but nothing right. only the public casino in the hotel was irritating.

the food as usually with buffet lukewarm but so far quite large offer - but summarized the prepackaged baguette at the airport before the flight home was the tastiest thing we ate there on holiday
all inclusive yesaaa but: generous meal times 3 times a day but neither before nor after was a snack to get only drinks !

the room was large/clean, as was the bathroom area of the service attentive/unobtrusive, the mattresses fixed
Many storage options for the holiday luggage, a spacious balcony and a gigantic sea view of this was clouded by the evening entertainment shows partly until the early morning hours or their visitors, we were on the 7 floor and thought we would sit right next to it. Sleep before 23-24:00 unthinkable

Pools - there is a family area with pools and an adult area both are kept clean but the maintenance of the facility is clearly neglected.
the pool ladders all wobble like a rat's tail, the stairway entry is dirty defective loungers have not been replaced , the partially steel supports of the parasols are extremely corroded.
The sunbathing area was reserved for a hotel of this size very small the sunbeds of horny English and French mostly directly after the late pool opening with towels

Hotel
all walls and ceilings as well as floors were made with hard coverings also the dining room so that in general the noise level was very high
The construction resembled a foxhole with subjectively very long running paths
Furthermore, there were escape doors which were partly locked. Escape route plans were missing altogether.
Outside some desolate chairs and tables where the lamination peels off, splinters/risks of injury.
direct access to the beach - misrepresentation outside the hotel on the right and left two small beaches with paid loungers
The hotel is also off the beaten track so a short city stroll without using transport uninteresting

Wheelchair riders should bring a Vigorous escort there are many ramps in and outside the hotel and with significantly more than 6% gradient and also I have not found a single disabled toilet also not disabled friendly in the entire ground floor or pool area
Very long distances, several elevator installation however small or narrowly usable for roller blinds but cumbersome,

In conclusion
you can tolerate a lot but that shows here that is hardly controlled and that in turn suggests the mentality of the management, after criticism was not required at check out nor a favor query in the room designed so quantity and money before quality and customer satisfaction max 2 stars

The staff are lovely and that's about it. On the most part this is a massive let down. The pool areas are dangerous. The tiled flooring is lethal, daily children and adults are slipping and getting head injuries. The floor surface is fine when dry but getting out of a pool with wet feet is like going ice skating with the Grim Reaper. Just a matter of time before you fall and smash your skull on the razor sharp ledges. Even if you manage to get some balance then the loosely fitted white plastic pool grills will collapse under you or trip you up.
This will all happen just in time for the hotel staff to parade a line of french tourists round watch.
The food is over complicated and poorly executed. Ok for adults with big bellies and no taste buds but for children there's not a lot going for them apart from chips and Icecream. The burned paella and cheap frozen seafood is an insult to Spanish cuisine.
The poolside entertainment is good and drinks generally cold and a good selection.
The hotel clearly doesn't respect it's guests tho. I had a do not disturb hanger on the room door and still the cleaning team just let themselves in to do as they please in the room.
The room are generally clean and tidy and most have stunning views of the local area and sea. However a cup of tea in your room will cost 50cents and the towels are barely big enough to cover one butt cheek. The air con only had two settings sub sero or sweat box hot.
The grass areas are well kept and there's is enough pool side seating. Ideally this hotel needs to be adults only as it's really not safe for excited children trying to enjoy their holiday. Location is ok and within 20 mins walking area there are many bars and restaurants to enjoy. This is a good thing as the hotel food will drive you away to eat else where.

Dear Yalant, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback about your recent stay with us. We really appreciate your feedback, both positive and constructive, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve. We are very sorry for the impression you have expressed through this medium about your recent stay in our establishment. Firstly, we are glad to know that you found our staff charming and that you enjoyed the poolside entertainment as well as our selection of drinks. We are also pleased that you appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms and the stunning views they offer. Regarding the pool areas, we would like to assure you that the flooring is indeed anti-slip and fully compliant with all safety regulations. However, we acknowledge that there are specific moments when a significant amount of water accumulates, particularly around the children's pool. Additionally, the use of sunscreens and protective lotions can create a slippery layer on the surface. Your feedback has been shared with the team to take immediate corrective action for our continuous improvement to serve you better in future. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future to demonstrate our commitment to customer satisfaction. Best Regards.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The sea-view suites are high-quality that are both comfortable and well-maintained. One of the highlights is the stunning views; whether youā€™re enjoying a morning coffee (ask for a kettle) or an evening sunset, the scenery is breathtaking. Plus, the hotelā€™s access to a lovely promenade makes for perfect, relaxing walks by the ocean.
Unfortunately, the food and drink options were average at best. The salad bar seemed to be the best option at all times. However fried chips are available for breakfast with canteen standard sausages and preformed bacon if you prefer. Also, the all-inclusive package seemed to attract a crowd that indulged a little too much. Arrive for a meal at the wrong time and you can easily think you have mistakenly stumbled upon a watering hole in a distant nature reserve.

If youā€™re looking for a comfortable stay with great views and dedicated staff, this is a solid option, itā€™s location sets it apart from the densely backed hub, but I wouldnā€™t choose it based solely on the price and the food and drink offerings, but that depends on your own expectations.

Hotel Estival fully deserves 4 stars, super located right by the sea, has 3 large swimming pools, 1 children's pool and 2 indoor swimming pools in the SPA, 1 dry sauna and 1 steam sauna. All windows have a view of the sea, large rooms, modernly furnished, a large wardrobe with plenty of hangers and a spacious bathroom with a separate toilet and a shower for 2 people with a rain shower. Towels were changed every day and the bed linen was changed after 3 days, there is also an electric kettle in the room and sugar and tea were replenished every day. Everyone very nice, smiling in the restaurant and at the reception, where you could communicate in English, and one gentleman even knew German. The food in the restaurant was very tasty, every day for breakfast there was bread, toaster, ciabatta, baguettes, and 3 types of rolls. Eggs any form, grilled bacon, sausages, Serano ham, salami, Italian mortadel, pĆ¢tĆ©s, vegetables and lots of fruit (oranges, apples, pears, bananas, watermelons and melons), pancakes, cheesecakes and muffins, and delicious coffee from the machine. Dinners also varied, freshly baked fish, seafood every day, grilled meat like in Chinese restaurants, fries, muffins, new potatoes, various salads, rice dishes and many other delicacies, there was plenty of bread and various types of pizza, and for dessert a full range of cakes , creams and, of course, 3 types of ice cream, which the children enjoyed the most. It is worth going to the city of Benalmadena and seeing the beautiful port, sailing on a yacht and seeing dolphins swimming in the sea. In the city of Malaga there are also many interesting places to visit, such as the Cathedral and Giblartar fortress and castle. I am very pleased with my stay in this hotel and I sincerely recommend Andalusia and the Estival Torrequebrada hotel, because it is beautiful here, but one week is not enough to see all the interesting places, so we will definitely come back here next year. Warm regards Best regards, Krystyna M

The Hotel is off the beaten track, not very close to the hub/vibe of the town. The reception area is nice and all the staff we met were very friendly. The hotel however lacks atmosphere, it would have been nice to have some music playing in the main bar area during the day and there's not enough seats for all the guests in the evening.

You do have to wait in a line to get a drink at the main bar but this went down fairly quickly, they have a sign saying only 2-drinks per person to be ordered at one time, but several times we saw individuals being served 3/4 drinks. The sports bar wasn't open, which was a pity as we enjoy watching various sports. The evening entertainment wasn't the best and depending on where you are sat in the main bar area, and due to the inner walls/columns you can't even see the stage.

The outdoor all day buffet food was not that great, there's several cakes but not enough savory food and every time I went there was barely enough food and this wasn't topped up very often.

All the drinks are premium, which was fantastic and you can ask for snacks at the indoor main bar, can't fault this at all.

Our room was nice and had a sea view/balcony, spacious and clean, but there's a very eggy smell as you come out of the lifts on the 6th floor. The views were great from our room but despite the door to the balcony being shut you can hear the sea waves/wind quite a lot. We had a mini-bar in our room but this was empty and not filled for the entirety of our stay.

The indoor spa is good and was much needed as it rained a fair bit while we were there. But it can get very busy in there and you have to wear a swimming cap before entering the spa, which can be purchased for 3 euros from the spa reception.

You can get towels from the spa reception, but need to pay a 10euro deposit per towel, which is refunded upon return of the towels.

The food in the main restaurant is lovely! Plenty of choices and you can self serve wine, beers and soft drinks.

We are frequent travellers having stayed at many 4-star hotels, although our overall experience was ok at this hotel, we would not return due to the lack of atmosphere and the location.

I am writing this review as a guest with limited mobility as I felt it would highlight problems I encountered during my stay and help others. This hotel and facilities is large and spead out. The hotel do provide wheelchair for a charge of 10 euros per day however the wheelchairs are not fit for purpose therefore not an option. We stayed in a junior suite which has a bedroom, living area, hallway, toilet and walk in shower. To access the toilet during the night you have to walk through the bedroom/ living area/ hallway which is very challenging if you need to get there quickly. To get to the buffet restaurant you have to take a lift down to reception then walk a fair distance to the next lift which takes you to the restaurant level. Getting to the pool was a nightmare as again the walk from the lift was very challenging. Only one pool bar was open and all but one gate was open so no short cuts available, with very limited toilet facilities close by. Out with the hotel the pavement were not suitable for wheelchairs, the walk to the supermarket was up a steep hill or lots of steps. Overall I found this hotel was not suitable for anyone with poor mobility however it is a lovely but very busy hotel with great sea views. Personally I should have researched the hotel more but I do believe the hotel could do more for their disabled guests. One point to mention there was many times there was no 'wet floor' signs in place during cleaning.

The beds are not OK at all, you can feel the springs in your back. There was also coffee and tea in the room, tea, there was no coffee, this was kindly pointed out at the reception, everything was dismissed with a smile, apparently the coffee was suddenly only available in a suite, this was not in the booking, apparently Nescafe had not been invented yet. We had all in food was not hot also got sick from the pizza desserts taste the same now there are also good things friendly service bar and kitchen and super clean cleaning team. The region is beautiful, hopefully the estival management will do something about that common complaint of those beds and lukewarm food ps ā‚¬ 12 per day for parking was also enough

Is there an outside seating area where one can have breakfast and dinner?
Answer from Carole C

Depends on when you want to eat. If itā€™s near lunch time, not certain but I think 11.30., the snack bar at the end of the path that leads to the childrenā€™s pool. You can get drinks and food there

Sea view rooms 100 pounds ? If all have sea view
Answer from Biffo-7

We had a front sea view so sun all day. The side sea view rooms either face East or West so sun goes off them. Still OK view I think but depends if you want a sunny balcony.
