The Edinbane Inn is a beautifully refurbished Highland inn in an idyllic rural location. The current owners, the lovely Ronnie and Annabel, have refurbished both the rooms and the public areas to an extremely high standard; they have all modern facilities while retaining the inn’s traditional Hebridean charm. The rooms are warm and cosy, with large double beds, and have impressively appointed modern bathrooms. The staff are all extremely kind and welcoming, and a warm Highland welcome (from the lovely Eleanor) is guaranteed. Breakfast is a treat, with the truly delicious full Scottish fry-up being served by the lively and fun Annabel, one of the owners, whose bubbly, vivacious personality is infectious and who definitely keeps you smiling for the rest of the day!

The evening meals, skilfully cooked by Ronnie and the kitchen team, are nothing short of superb: they combine traditional Scottish recipes and ingredients with modern cooking methods, and they are served to the highest restaurant standard. The squid starter, the venison burger and the steak are especially impressive. The highlight of any meal is the absolutely sublime triple chocolate brownie with ice cream and chocolate shards, a triumph of culinary skill and perfectly executed. It is the very best brownie which I have ever tasted; it is made with love to a traditional family recipe.

I cannot recommend a stay here highly enough. The inn is perfectly situated for touring the north of Skye and offers a sublime Highland experience.

Booked a few weeks ago prior to our visit to Skye after reading Tripadviser reviews. We had a lovely meal served by friendly, attentative staff. We were seated well apart from other diners and at no time did we feel unsafe whilst there, even though it was busy evening table was set well apart from the others. The food was delicious, well cooked, fresh and well presented. I had the black pudding and pancheta starter which was excellent, while hubby had the soup of the day, which his comment was that it was possibly the tastiest soup he had eaten. Both had the fish and chips for main which was an excellent piece of fish coated in light, golden batter. Bottle of delicious Cabernet Savignon to drink. An excellent meal, so glad we chose this Inn and can certainly recommend, but be sure to book.

Leaving it a little late to book our holidays this year my first choice to stay were fully booked. But I was recommended to try this inn by the fully booked establishment.
We had to reschedule our visit a little but pleased to say we did stay here for 3 nights.
Our room was at the back of the inn but as there’s no good views from any of the room’s it didn’t matter.
The room was nice and large and very clean, the bathroom was a good size with a nice large walk-in shower.
You can decide if you want your room made up or water etc left outside your room.
As a previous traveler mentioned it’s not near anywhere close to eat on a evening apart from there restaurant or the nearby Lodge which is quite expensive, but they always save a table for there residents.
We ate in there restaurant 2 nights and both time’s the food and service were outstanding, my only complaint is that you cannot get hot milk with your coffee as they don’t have a microwave (the answer I was given)
If I was to return to the Isle of Skye I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

We used Edinbane as our base to explore the Isle of Skye - it was a fantastic find! Our room was very spacious, simply decorated but reflecting a Scottish style. We had a really large modern shower room with the best shower of the whole holiday!
The bar area was busy and had a nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and service was good. Tables were well spaced and we felt very safe eating here. The food menu catered for all tastes and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meals - the sweet potato and lentil burger and the pork pie were particularly good!
Breakfast was delicious - excellent porridge and a variety of dishes on offer, including a very good full breakfast.
Would certainly return if visiting the area and would definitely recommend to others.

We had a nice stay at the Edinbane, very welcoming staff and nice pub atmosphere (even without the usual music due to covid). The food was great, particularly the seafood and there were good vegan options for my wife. One bug bear was the room, perfectly adequate, but in my opinion not particularly good value. The room was a standard size king, bed was comfortable, but the room felt quite basic. To be fair, we did stay in peak season, but other places we stayed for the same cost felt much more luxurious and better value. Clean, but shower head a bit mouldy and the shower cubicle was not draining probably meaning you were standing in a puddle pretty quickly. I would definitely come back for the food/drink, but probably not to stay.

Had a fantastic few days in Edinbane from start to finish.
The hotel was spotless, staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the food was amazing with the restaurant busy every night with non residents.
Although short staffed like all hotels and restaurants, the standards were consistently high in service and food and nothing was too much trouble to the busy team.
Hope to return soon.

We loved this out of the way Inn located in the quaint village of Edinbane on the popular Isle of Skye. We stayed here on a Saturday and Sunday night in May and were so glad that we did. We ate at the Inn both nights and the food was exceptional. The roast was to die for especially on a chilly May evening. Our Sunday stay was really special. After a day's hike we came back to the Inn for some home cooked traditional Scottish music by local musicians. They meet every Sunday for a "jam" session. The Inn was packed with an enthusiastic audience that featured some attendees that joined in the fun by playing their own instruments that they brought to the event. The room was very quiet despite being above the pub. There was a sound deadening door to the sleeping quarters. The breakfasts were very nice, the tea tray was kept fully stocked, and the accommodations were very comfortable.

About 12 miles from Portree in a quiet village off the road to Dunvegan. Busy restaurant but tables are reserved for residents. Menu isn’t huge. There weren’t any specials so when you’re there for 4 nights it is a bit limiting but unless you drive to Portree there’s no other option. Food always hot and quick service. Good cooked breakfast but not much choice otherwise, granola, porridge or fresh fruit. Welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely room with large bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Only thing missing was a box of tissues. We stayed in room 1 above the bar. The website warns this can be noisy when they have live music but unfortunately that can’t happen at the moment.

Comfortable, well-appointed room which was modern and clean. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the food (one breakfast and two dinners). We appreciated the takeaway breakfast on the morning we left, which was tasty and generous.

Convenient location for exploring the north west part of the island.

Stayed here for two nights late September/early October for my birthday. The welcome was underwhelming. On arrival we were met by a surly male member of staff who was dour and unhelpful. We had difficulty parking due to some inappropriate parking and his response was "that's not my problem". Did not wish us a good stay. Room was fine with very comfortable bed but at £210 per night, without dinner, it is in my opinion, overpriced. We ate in the hotel on the first night and the meal was at best average and again the service was underwhelming. The main reason for booking the Edinbane Inn was to enjoy the live music they were famed for and we had experienced previously, but they no longer offer live music which was a major disappointment. Therefore we were left with the same surly man behind the bar who only seemed interested in serving and talking to the locals. Lovely Hungarian girl at the breakfast service which raised our spirits but overall the service during our stay was poor. If you wish a superior dining experience with friendly staff, I would personally recommend The Dunvegan which we visited on my birthday.
