Come on down and enjoy our laid-back, family owned river lodge in New Braunfels along the beautiful banks of the Guadalupe River. The Lodge is a place to let your hair down, relax, grab a cold beer and enjoy exciting activities on the river, from kayaking to tubing and rafting. Play a game of volleyball, dive into the sparkling swimming pool, or play video games on the big screen in our clubhouse. If none of that strikes your fancy, head to historic Gruene for some local shopping, enjoy our Texas flavors or people watch with a glass of Texas wine under the trees. Don't forget to check out Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas. Later in the afternoon, back at The Lodge, relax in a hammock under the canopy of pecan and black oak trees. As night falls, the fireflies let you know that it is time for a campfire, s'mores and maybe a ghost story. Our accommodations and location are perfect for Snowbirds or Winter Texans as known by the locals. Many of our rooms have full kitchens and queen-size pillow-top beds. "It is a wonderful property with none of the cookie cutter look and feel of "today". It is a home away from home feel."

We took our kids for the weekend to float the river. Staff were very accommodating and all the guests were friendly. We had a great time and plan to return soon! The rooms were an little dated but I know they have been doing renovations so cant wait.

We were in a remodeled unit. The commode leaked when it was flushed. No ice available. Basic accommodations with cheap looking decor did not justify the cost.We should have checked out the unit before staying. After driving for 6 hours, i was tired and didn't want to look further.

We wanted to go to the beach but due to Covid 19, we decided somewhere closer to home. This place was perfect. The room was very nice. It was a lodge type setting. Full kitchen, 2 Queen beds, front porch, swimming pool , Barbecue pits and picnic tables every where. A short Weald to the River for fun in the sun. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for making our girls weekend so much fun

When a room costs $149/night + tax (weekday rate), I expect:
* WIFI available in my room
*Room cleaned every day, without me asking. (They never asked me what I wanted)
*Tissues
*No odors
*Hairdryer
*Iron
*Ironing Board
*Ice Machines
*Non-slip bathtub
*Vanity area larger than 30" wide
*More than one lamp.
*Places to plug in charging cables.
*Hotel staff available at front desk at least 12 hours/day, and ability to contact them in the event of an emergency. (No telephone numbers posted).

This is an older facility, clearly on its last legs, surviving solely on its proximity to the Guadalupe River. Paint can only do so much. Needs to be scraped. On the plus side , it had a large closet and the AC worked fine.

We had high hopes for this hotel especially with its location but it ended up being a let down. They only have their front desk staffed part of the day and didn’t mention that anywhere in the booking. When we showed up at 9:45 pm to check in the whole lobby and hotel was locked up, lights off and there was no way for us to get into our room that we had already prepaid for. We ended up having to go hotel to hotel in town to find another dog friendly hotel with an available room at 10pm at night. The next morning we went in to get everything sorted out. The woman was very helpful and gave us a refund for the night we had to get a different hotel room. We then went into our room and for the price we were very disappointed. The door to the room was paper thin and did not make us feel safe or secure in this room at all and it let in a ton of heat into the room. There was also a broken glass window pane that let the a/c out and again didn’t make the room feel very secure. The toilets clogged extremely easily with just a few pieces of toilet paper and were very hard to get to flush fully. There was black mold in the shower grout and the room over all felt very dirty. The icing on the cake for us was that there is no Wi-Fi offered in any of the rooms. Over all this hotel was extremely overpriced and I would never stay here again. Do yourself a favor and go stay at a chain hotel that will be cheaper and actually clean. This hotel room should be $99 a night.

Not within walking distance of Gruene Historic district. Owner does not allow any visitors. Not handicapped friendly. No service animals. Terrible harassing owner. We were not allowed to have a family member at picnic table join us.

For $390.98 for 2 nights we expected better! This is like a very cheap motel. Very old and ugly and the electricity wouldn't even stay on and my husband uses a C-Pap machine. We had planned on staying for 2 nights but could not stand it. We asked for the 2nd nights money back and was given $144.64. We was very disappointed in our experience.

Where to start? Geez....this place was just terrible. Went to bring the family for a last summer outing before school and I booked this place thinking it would be a fun place for my girls. I had a full conversation with the guy behind the desk for about 30 mins before I even booked. He assured me there would be enough room for 6 people in the room. I said I have a 13 yr old and an 8 yr old and 4 adults. He said the room would work fine. We got there and our room was for 4 guests. No room for my little ones. Thank god my mother in law had the blow up mattress. Went to the desk to talk to them about it and they said if I wanted to pay $300 more dollars I could to move to a bigger room. Bull crap!!!
Pool was dirty, beds sucked, bugs in our bathroom and bugs crawling on me in the night, hair all over my sheets, noisy people partying all night and screaming, false advertising on their website showing a slide at the pool and a huge bbq pit.....all lies. Very rude people who work here who seem to know NOTHING!!!

Our tv didn't work....cable signal was out. When asked about it they said they didn't know how that could happen but nothing can be done about it. I would never stay here again and I suggest no one else does either. Their tube rental sux too.....way much more than whitewater and the tubes suck. Never again will I make this mistake. Thanks for ruining our vacation.

Yes, this place is rustic, BUT, it is filthy and is a dump. It is outrageously overpriced. No one ever came to clean our room. We checked in and were greeted in our room by a live lizard, live and dead roaches, and a cracked toilet seat. They did not replace the toilet seat, but did repair it with tape. Staff had no clue what was going on. Over priced dump. Could be nice if fixed up. Do not wast your time.

The rooms are nasty. Simply put. We had room 183. The mattress was probably 20 years old and had a HUGE crater in the middle of it. I shared the bed with my fiancé and we both rolled into the middle of the bed all night long. I woke up SO stiff both nights we stayed.

The fold out futon was as hard as concrete. Unless you are a 6 year old and weigh 50 lbs. there is no way possible you could sleep on it without breaking your back.

The kitchen was dingy with old appliances. The bathroom was nasty. The toilet wasn't firmly attached to the floor. The vanity was gross. Mismatched furniture. The children thought the TV was vintage, I had to explain what an old CRT was....

This property is gross.

I will give kudos to the management staff for working with us to secure a second room (there was no way we were going to cram 6 people in that port-o-potty for a second night). The management staff was VERY courteous and sympathetic with us. They worked with us on the price, but in the end..... Even the best customer service couldn't overcome the grossness of this place.
