We’ve been to Port A several times but had never stayed at Amelia’s and decided to give it a try. Everyone we spoke to, from booking the reservation, to the lady at the front desk when we checked in, to other motel staff we interacted with, were all so friendly and helpful. The room was nice. Was it as comfortable as home? No, but I never expect that from any place we stay. The location is very convenient to everything, easy to walk to shops or restaurants, and not far at all to drive to the beach. The price is very reasonable and we would definitely stay here again!
We were very unhappy with the cleanliness of our room. The floors upon arrival were filthy. The shower has mildew and mold all over it. Our feet were filthy if we walked on the floor without shoes or socks. The shower was so dirty, I was scared to shower in it. I took pictures and showed them to the owners only to hear, "it is the nature of the beast when staying at the beach." We have stayed at many beaches, in homes, in hotels, and in high rise condos. None of these other places had floors that turned our feet black because there were cleaned regularly. I asked if they would come clean the floors and was told no, it wouldn't do any good, besides they cannot keep anyone on staff, and they put the wrong shower types after Hurricane Harvey, and they cannot keep the shower clean. In other words, oh well, that is our hotel. We cannot do anything about it. Stay somewhere else, if you do try this place, check out the room first. Maybe they will be cleaning the place better. Oh, and make sure your room has a fire alarm, ours didn't. …
Excellent locally owned hotel. Nice airplane-themed rooms. We stayed in Floatplane #5 (June 5-7). Great shower and vanity. Wife and I were in a single Queen room. We were extremely comfortable the whole stay. I enjoyed their nice pool on our last afternoon there. They allowed you to choose items for a continental breakfast the day before and it was delivered in a container outside your room before 7am each morning. The muffins and croissants seemed to be freshly baked and very good. In my opinion, the great value in the stay was the location in the middle of Port A. We loved to walk to different areas of town. You are literally minutes from everything. We will definitely be staying there again.
This is a very nice place to stay. The staff are as friendly as can be and very helpful. It’s an older hotel but the bathroom and shower have been updated. The room had a tile floor which is nice. The air conditioner works great. The room isn’t all that big but we only sleep there. The room was very clean with very soft towels and the breakfast was enough for us. Visit The Stingray Restaurant, homemade burger and chicken strips, not frozen, and we’re tasty. A young crowd was there. Also about 10 minutes away The Island Italian Restaurant was great. The staff was super friendly, the food delicious and the prices were very good.
Per TA reviews and folks at eating establishment, we located and secured a nice Amelia Earhart themed room with 2 comfortable queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, table w/2 chairs, coffee maker, hairdryer, and a nice walk-in shower. Tile floors a plus, linens were good, and TV selection good. COVID-19 breakfast selections room delivery was by selections chosen the night before. We like to patronize small mom and pop places like this. Stephanie at check-in selected #23 w/only one step for us to enter to accommodate limited mobility. Bar food nearby. Beach and ferry were nearby. Only issues were the dirty AC filter and refrigerator freezer needed defrosting. Pool was cold but seating adequate and spa was not working. We would definitely stay again and recommend as alternative to name brand hotels. …
Comfy rooms, continental breakfast delivered to your door, & great location. The rooms are chock full of aviation history & have been renovated. Amelia’s is always my first choice for a place to stay in Port A. Really enjoyed my stay!
My husband and I stay here every time we visit Port Aransas. We like airplanes and so do the owners of Amelia's Landing Hotel. Each room has an aviation theme, and we like supporting mom and pop businesses like this one. Breakfast is delivered to your room each morning. During the day I had the swimming pool to myself. I recommend this hotel to all my friends.
We checked in Tuesday, last week, checked out on Thursday morning. On arrival, the motel was quaint, clean, and quiet and remained like that for our stay. The room was comfortable, though a bit small for the queen bed. A sign on the mirror warned of water shortages, so don’t run it too long to get hot in the shower ‘cause it won’t, nor would the cold water get cooler the longer it runs. Breakfast orders placed the night before were delivered to our door by 7:30a.m. each morning. However, though coffee packets were included, how do you get water hot enough for coffee ? There was a microwave in the room, along with a fridge, but my immediate reaction was about the water situation, so we didn’t try the m/w to heat the water. The only other negative was the wi-fi was less than appreciable. The office told me they had two wi-fi, but once I logged in there was only one point on the signal on either of them. These reasons are why I have not given them a more positive rating.…
The room was quaint - loved the regular sized coffee pot in the room - breakfast waiting outside our door in the morning - Very nice!! And close enough to walk anywhere you want - to the pier, to other restaurants or shops Both counter and housekeeping staff were very friendly
We have been coming here for years. We try to make it up here a couple of times a year. We always book here. We love the mom and pop feel of this place. Quiet, clean and homey. Thanks for the great stay!
