We liked the look of the cabins and grounds online but when we arrived we were quite disappointed. We stayed in one of the Original Six Cabins, the cabins are VERY basic and the window AC unit definitely didn't cool the bedrooms in the cabin. You will definitely have to sleep with all the bedroom doors open. The window units...

We stayed in cabin #10 - plenty of beautiful trees, romantic trails, convenient picnic tables, easy river access, also Garner State park is a short drive away. It was the most uncomplicated experience ever, from check-in to check-out. Anything you may need, the owners are always available at their office/home. The cabin was spacious, spotless and had all the basic...

My husband and I stayed a couple of nights here at the Frio River Cabins. Very quiet, clean cabins that are less than 100 yards from the Frio river. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the property and plenty of wildlife that we saw. There was no television in our cabin, and there is not Wifi in cabins. With our Verizon...

We go every summer with our grandkids, and they love it. The family that owns the cabins is great and not intrusive, and they do everything they can to make your trip a good one. The only downside is that you have to bring your own linens, but that's a small price to pay for peace and quiet. Enjoy your...

Great place to stay and tube the Frio River. The cabin was comfortable and easily slept all 7 of us. We did have to bring bedding and towels, however the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. The only complaint would be that the steps leading down to the river were very slick and most of us ended up...

My family of five spent four nights in Cabin #10. It is just a short walk from the river and we dropped our tubes right in the river there near the cabin. The cabin was great and easily slept 5 people. It says you can sleep 10, but I think anything over 6 would be a crowd. The staff was...

We stayed in these cabins twice and have absolutely loved it each time. Extremely family friendly! During our latest visit, our cabin was a few steps away from the river, which was flowing like crazy when we went. The kids had a blast playing in the river. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to go tubing. The cabin was...

Took my sons camping there with our friends. The cabins had everything we could need and more; full kitchen, tv and dvd player, 3 bedrooms. There was a nice outside area with firepits and horse shoes setup. The Frio River is clear and beautiful, we spent time kayaking (provided by the cabins) and fishing. I look forward to spending more...

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Frio River Cabins! We stayed at River Belle cabin and enjoyed everything about it! Located right on the Frio River, and a short driving distance to Garner State Park this three bedroom, two bathroom cabin was very clean and fully stocked. Right outside we had a nice porch with rocking chairs,...

We stayed at one of the Original Six Cabins. We loved the open grassy area around the cabins it was great for our kids and dog. The river frontage is very tapered on this property and ideal for smaller children. Cabin was perfect and surprisingly clean. We have stayed In the area a few other times and we always felt...

“Cabins #7 and #10 are near the water, but not water that one could float, play in unless we had plenty (abundant) rain...but, floating water is a short drive away. I personally will trade the seclusion/privacy but some would rather be close to the water, I am sure.”
