Out of the places in Sherman, this is one of the best hotels. It's nice to have a couple Hilton properties around the town. This one is well kept and they have great breakfast. Beds were comfortable and overall cleanliness was good. Will be staying here again!

For the price, this was an exceptional value. The room was very clean. The accommodations were of high quality, especially considering the cost - the bed was very comfortable as were, equally as important, the pillows. Room was very clean and the bathroom amenities were equal to

Not well maintained at all. You will not be using the pool and I would suggest the stairs rather than the scary sounding elevator. Room was not very clean. Shower head was about to fall off. Main hall was a disaster. Duct used to keep wallpaper seams together.

Thank you for your review of the Hampton Inn Sherman. I apologize for the problems you experienced during your stay and I assure you that they are not acceptable. This hotel is under new management and is working diligently to get things back in order to ensure our guests enjoy the kind of experience they have come to expect from Hilton properties. I appreciate you bringing to my attention your concerns regarding our front desk and housekeeping. Some additional training is obviously needed in those areas. We are in the early stages of a full hotel renovation as well as remediation on the first floor stemming from a flood we experienced last spring. Unfortunately, it is often necessary to make things look worse before we can make them better. Again, I apologize for the condition of the hotel and I hope you will visit us again once we have completed our renovation so that we can show you the kind of experience we strive to provide.

Staff was okay and the Ceiling was leaking and there were bugs in the lights. Rooms smelled funny and the new room that we were in the bathroom lights were burnt out! Will not stay there again! Do not recommend!

Please accept my sincere apologies for the problems you encountered during your recent stay at the Hampton Inn Sherman. I have addressed the light fixture problem with my housekeeping staff and we are taking steps to check and clean every fixture in every room. The leak you experienced in the first room was caused by recent heavy rains in our area and we have also had repairs made to correct it. Regardless of the reason, the issues you describe are unacceptable and I assure you we are making every effort to ensure they are not repeated. Thank you for bringing these items to our attention. It is through constructive criticisms such as yours that we are able to improve and do better going forward.

Not sure exactly what you mean, so I may not answer properly, but I'll give it a shot. Of course, when Conrad Hilton started his hotel chain, all his hotels bore his name. Through the years, Hilton Hotels Corporation has tried their hand at developing various brands in different segments of the hospitality market, and in recent years, they have bought a few chains to try to get a better position in certain segments. Because those brands already had some loyal customers, in most cases, I think Hilton kept the original name and added "by Hilton" such as "Embassy Suites by Hilton". Hotel brands (or "flags" as they are often called in the hospitality industry) change corporate ownership more often than you might guess. Some have franchises, while others are corporate owned. Both Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites are brands that were started by the parent of Holiday Inns, though I don't know if "Holiday" was ever part of the name of HI or ES. I'm sure there are marketing folks who could sell the benefits of both types of branding. For example, maybe you used to stay at Embassy Suites because you thought Holiday Inns were not reliable, so calling it "Embassy Suites by Holiday Corporation" might have been counterproductive. Conversely, maybe you're more likely to stay at a Hampton Inn because it's part of the Hilton brand and you have higher expectations. I don't know enough about marketing to argue the benefits of how the name is styled. But I was working in the hotel industry back when Holiday Corporation spent ridiculous sums of money to change the "y" at the end of "Holiday" from a straight tail to a curled tail because a marketing expert said the curled tail "y" was friendlier, more inviting. Think of all the branded items that had to be re-done -- signs, stationery, personalized toiletries -- the list was extremely long, and many of the franchise-owners were very unhappy about the change because of what they believed was a LOT of unnecessary expense. But I digress. :) The point is, Calling THIS chain "Hampton Inn by Hilton" reflects the corporate ownership and is probably a decision that was heavily influenced by a team of marketing experts. Does that help answer your question?
