Arrived on a hard packed gravel road to views I've only seen in westerns. I'm looking at cows out the front window of my rv with mountains to the left and right. When I step outside, I'm greeted by prairie dogs singing their warning songs to their pack mates. More stars at night than I've ever seen before including the milky way clearly visible. I have 50a service with water and sewer for $40 Per Nite. There are no bathrooms, showers, laundry, or games, but since I'm self contained I am free to enjoy my surroundings.
We stayed 1 night at the RV park, conveniently located between Bryce and Zion National Parks. It’s very quiet and peaceful. This is not your typical over crowded campground. Everything we needed was at our site- power, water and sewer. The customer service was EXCELLENT! The owner let us pick our site to keep maximum distance to the other RV’S in the park and even delivered firewood to our site.
Spent 4 nights here. Large, level sites, full hookups in good repair. Not a fancy place but in good repair at a fair price. The star gazing at night was spectacular. Yes, it's all gravel roads, and can get a little sloppy if it rains, but Brad works to keep things decent. Great base camp for Bryce and Zion. These folks will do anything they can to help you. We would stay here again.
This place is no place for diesel pushers. Oh yes it is a wilderness complete with lots of powdery dust, cow dung, and varies sizes of rodent holes. Speaking of which it took me several weeks to eliminate the mice after staying here for several days. We left early and will not return
From initial contact to our departure from our 5 night stay, Wilderness Ranch was a great experience. Before we arrived, I had mentioned about our dog being attacked about a month prior, so they were thoughtful enough to put us in a spot where they thought the dog would be happiest in case she needed some space. Speaking of the dog, she was very comfortable at the Ranch. We'd take her on a walk leashed and toward the end of each walk, let her run back to the toy hauler. She loved getting that short run in each time. We had plenty of room in our spot for our UTV, parking, etc. Big spots. Yes, you have to drive about 1.5 miles on dirt road to get to the RV park but the roads are well maintained. This did not bother us at all. I didn't see bathroom, camp store, nor laundry facilities as mentioned on their website, but we didn't need them, so we also didn't ask about them. Brad and Dori pretty much gave us free reign to roam the roads of the property. We loved riding up to the golf course and finding wildlife. We saw deer and/or antelope 2 of the 3 nights we trekked out there. If you do this, please be respectful and stay on the trails so they continue to allow this. There are a lot of things that are a work in progress for Brad and Dori resurrecting this great piece of property but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We visited both Zion and Bryce from here, as well as Panguitch Lake and Duck Creek. Highly recommend trout fishing at Duck Creek Lake. It's only about 25 minutes from the campground. Thanks Brad and Dori!…
