Red Mountain Resort seems to elicit mixed feelings among its guests. While the hotel's location is frequently praised for its scenic beauty and tranquility, some guests feel that the value proposition is off, citing overpriced meals and a lack of luxury that one might expect for the price. The amenities, including the pool and fitness options, are generally well-received, though calls for updates and more variety in meals are not uncommon. Service at the hotel has room for improvement, with reports of slow restaurant service and undertrained staff. The atmosphere is considered comfortable and rooms spacious, yet opinions on cleanliness and room quality are divided, with some guests finding the resort well-maintained while others observe a decline in standards.

Stayed here for 5 nights in a 2 BR suite with my sister. The suite was spacious and well appointed with 3 bathrooms, jetted tubs, fridges and coffee makers in the bedrooms, fireplaces in all rooms, and a laundry room. The kitchen had all the basic necessities and cooking utensils. There was a table for four and the couch was large. Some of these rooms had views of the mountains, though our overlooked the pool. Private outdoor sitting area as well. There was plenty to do at the resort including an indoor pool, gym, spa, health classes and guided hikes and tours. You could also rent bikes. There is a labyrinth and short trail behind the resort that leads to Snow Canyon State Park which has a lot of great hikes. Zion NP is an hour away. The restaurant was good including the takeout counter. There is also a little cafe, Feellove, right outside the resort that you can walk to. There is a shuttle to the Vegas airport that you can pay for. 15 minute drive to St. George where there was a variety of restaurants. The only negative was the washer had bleach in it and ruined several items of clothing. When the front desk was told about it, they were not apologetic and did not offer to reimburse us for the damages. Overall a nice stay for a relaxing wellness getaway.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, but researched prior to going. I wanted an unbelievable location - I wanted large accommodations- I wanted peace & quiet - I wanted to be left alone. This is not a five star luxury resort - they cater to people who are coming to be outdoors all day, maybe workout, and then seek peace and quiet. When I arrived the bellman quickly met me as I walked out of my car, greeted and offered assistance. Someone quickly checked me in (early! With no hesitation or fee). They text when I got to my room and offered assistance and booking excursions. Top notch service- they left me alone and responded immediately to any texts. I was in the armadillo building - I booked a premium king suite - again, because I read the reviews and knew the extra $100 or whatever a night would be worth it to me. It was a fantastic HUGE suite with two bathrooms,’living room, huge bathroom etc. it was dated- sure - but clean and lovely. I used the spa every single day and had some of the best service providers. I used the gym and it was all mine and beautiful with everything I needed. I walked the grounds daily. I took the guided hikes.
If I was going to complain it would be about the food situation- but again, I researched and made sure to have a car and a few go to places around me. Room service , different selections, timeliness of prepping a to-go …would definitely of changed my trips vibe - but I made it work because I KNEW the general concerns.
If there were children around me (I have three that I love with all I have in me!)or I heard them - I would have a different opinion about this resort. I didn’t see or hear any kids and was thankful for it because wanted solitude and peace , this should be an adults only wellness resort- let the new place across the street cater to family and Red Mountain should keep its peaceful vibe.
Definitely a four star resort. I loved my time here. All in all- When I wanted to be guest serviced, I was - promptly and genuinely. Grounds were immaculate. Spa used daily and the entire team was fantastic. Hikes and location- unbeatable. Came for what I needed and got what I wanted.

The setting is amazing, the food wonderful, and the amenities just as promised. Access to Snow Canyon and Zion National Park is super easy and without exception, each staff member from the front desk, to the restaurant, to the housekeeping crew was exceptional.

Truly a "can do" attitude and attention to the best guest experience possible.

This was my 5th stay at the resort and I was very disappointed mainly about the food quality and choices. The breakfast/lunch menu was changed once during my 7 day stay but the dinner menu stayed the same for the duration. Several lunch items and dinner items weren't available on several days which left few choices. There were 2 desserts to pick from for the whole week and when asked for something else the only offer was ice cream. The breakfast Southwest Eggs Benedict was served with burned pork and the breakfast Sandwich was so soggy that it was not edible. One lunch item consisted of noodles in heavy oil with 3 cherry tomatoes for $ 18.00 + grilled chicken $ 12.00. Towards the end of my stay I was not looking forward to dinner since I had to eat the same dishes over and over again. The last 2 days I was only able to eat Greek Yoghurt and fruit for breakfast. Another healthy choice, steel cut Oats, were taken off the menu.
After having experienced awesome breakfast and lunch buffets and gourmet dinners on my previous visits, this was a total disappointment. Also on previous visits there was always fresh fruit (Bananas, Apples etc.) available but those were not available either.
In regards to the hikes I found that they were rushed probably due to the fact that most of us wanted to take part in the stretch class which started when the hikes were supposed to end. Maybe the stretch class could be started 15 minutes later which would give the hiking guides more time to finish the hike without being rushed and would give everybody time to take part in the class.
I noticed that some of the Yoga mats need cleaned/sanitized and replaced.
Missing were quite a few classes and lectures previously offered which were included in the package.
I hope management will decide to go back to healthy buffet-style breakfast and lunches (which also would alleviate the long wait we experienced for our food to be served) and offer daily changing dinner menus. For single travelers it would be nice to have the Community table back too.
Re bill: several corrections needed to be made on the final invoice.

Pricing of the Essential Retreat is not transparent AT ALL. When questioned about charges, no one at the front desk could explain them, except to say that the charges are rolled up together and can't be itemized. That's ridiculous.

The daily hikes continue to be fantastic. The guides are engaging and knowledgeable.

RMS no longer offers a wide selection of fitness classes throughout the day as they had in the past. Fitness manager, Kim Watters is an outstanding teacher and offers classes not commonly available at health clubs (Melt, ChiBall, Rebounding, etc.). The real problem is the fitness schedule itself. With three fitness rooms, the schedule used to offer options in every room in at least two time blocks every morning and afternoon. It seems to me that RMS has backed away from being a spa resort and instead is now a hotel with a substandard gym and only two or three classes per day.

Worst of all was the food at this all-inclusive resort. Relative to my past visits, the dining experience is substandard, to say the least. The buffet is gone, the healthy choices are gone or limited. I spent four nights on the all-inclusive Essential Retreat, and having the exact same menu options every day for EIGHT meals (lunch and dinner) is unacceptable. The Canyon Breeze Restaurant offers two choices: “Take it, or Leave it.” Every guest I spoke with mentioned this. Consequently, the dining room is nearly empty at all meals and I can only surmise that guests are dining elsewhere. Good choice.

For a resort, I expected more. We had to switch rooms because of dead bugs in the room on arrival. The "no refund policy" strong armed up into staying or we would have checked out after the first day. The room smelled like cigarette smoke whenever the AC unit turned on. The shower curtain was stained. Single ply toilet paper. Luckily the staff was kind and the trail was beautiful. For the price, I would not stay here again.

The view and the grounds of this establishment are spectacular!!! Sadly, the accommodations less so. The "queen mountain view" room was so tiny that we had to go outside to change our minds. Our building was constructed like a motel, with an external door from each room opening onto an outdoor walkway. If we opened the blinds of our one window to enjoy the beautiful view for which we paid extra, anyone walking by would see right into our room without even trying. The clothes closet was small and poorly configured. To get into the tub/shower, one had to climb over an unusually high, wide apron, which was a dangerously precarious maneuver. We didn't particularly enjoy dining the few meals that we had on-site. "Grab and go" sandwiches were mushy. At breakfast my avocado toast had barely any avocado on it and the toast was painfully dry. On the positive side, the bedding was very nice!! The gardening was extremely well done and the ladies in the dining room were kind and hard-working!
If you went there purposefully to use the spa and/or fitness programs, you probably would get your money's worth. Alas, we were visiting the area for a wedding and did not have any time to use the facilities. So, for the price, on the basis of quality of the hotel room, it was a little disappointing.

Property is beautiful, rooms are ok, clean and functional. I like that 2 charging stations are next to the bed unlike most places.

Upon arrival absolutely NO orientation of the property given.. You are given a map, which is pretty much useless, especially if you have no sense of direction. Had it not been for an employee on a golf cart leading me to my room, I would still be searching for it today.

When I tried to find the Labyrinth I asked another guest who had been there 3 days and she could not tell me, even though she had been there herself. The place is a bit of a maze.

Best to bring your own bottled water for coffee, tea and drinking unless you are ok with tap water (with noticeable chlorine smell). I also brought my own Bullet to make smoothies and boiled eggs for breakfast. I read that breakfast/lunch is not that good and over priced. Found that to be true.

There is a mini fridge but no plates, utensils or paper towels if you brought your own food.

Basic classes are $35/each. Much more for hiking, biking and energy/spiritual healing sessions. You can buy a Power Pass for $50/day that can be used on the $35 classes only

I had dinner first night, $68 including tip. Food was mediocre, needs improvement. The patio outside was lovely and breezy. Sadly, there is NO non alcoholic wine or beer options. I hope they rectify that, not everyone wants to include alcohol on a healthy getaway. I decided to eat the tuna and apple I brought for the second nights dinner and I’m glad I did.

All in all it is a beautiful place with lots to offer. I did not hike with a group, but that seems to be the big attraction there. I simply went for a walk on my own and I took a few classes and I was happy with that.

The scenery is beautiful. The hiking guides are excellent. The pool is lovely and the food, while limited is quite good. Our room was ok. Comfortable beds but the AC was so loud, it woke us up at night. They sort of fixed it but we ended up adding a heavily weighted backpack to the top to muffle the sound. The service is VERY uneven. We received contradictory answers to ordinary questions. The front desk failed to respond to service requests, and two front desk employees were unpleasant when our coffee maker didn't work at all and when we asked about transportation. However several were also very nice and extremely helpful. Poor training or poor hiring? Not sure.

The hiking guides are wonderful! They are from the previous owners and know the mountains well. I can't praise them enough.

However, the hiking choices are somewhat limited and the fitness choices are even worse. We struggled to find afternoon activities that were above a basic gym membership. Biking is a lovely option but the maps were limited and guest services couldn't provide any meaningful information, nor did they try.

Speaking to other guests we found that the resort has definitely changed, and not for the better. Corporate bean counters have apparently taken the heart and soul from what was once a wonderful resort. I love the area and would love to explore further but I won't stay there again.

This resort used to offer the most wonderful experience to the point it was an annual trek for my group of friends for 21 years. Sadly, it is in decline. Activity offerings have been reduced, there is less food offered, the menu is static and not geared to any attempt to being healthy, the physical property is not being maintained and staff has been cut. It seems that the owners' new resort across the street has poached the best staff. Too many of the newbies had only been there a week or two when we visited. The accounting system is a mess which caused delays at meals. Three hours for dinner and an hour and a half for lunch, up to 40 minutes of which were waiting for checks, is unacceptable when you have classes and treatments to get to. Our week was disappointing and stressful. If you don't care about these things, however, it is still the most beautiful setting around and Snow Canyon is still wonderful.

It is easy to hike in the area if you have a car. Lots of hikes that are in the adjacent state park, but the park requires a daily parking fee. There are some other hikes about 15 miles away that don't require the parking fee. The mountains and hiking trails around the resort are beautiful.
