Detailed Reviews
This was the third time we had stayed there and it was even better than the first 2 times. Everything is always perfect but this time they had real breakfast and not just grab and go. My kids loved eating bacon and eggs everyday aa did we :). We love how clean the hotel is and our room was spotless with the cleanest softest sheets! We asked housekeeping to tidy up one time for us very lightly and they went way above and beyond and made our room as clean as it was when we initially checked in. The front desk staff was always happy and friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We also had fun swimming! Out of all the hotels we have ever stayed at this is our favorite or overall experience. Keep up the great work and can't wait for our next visit!

We stayed 4 nights at the Layton HIX and it was real nice. This site is not new but well taken care of. The room was clean and well maintained. The indoor pool is nice and inviting. The lobby area was well decorated for the 4th and was very patriotic. We loved that. We really appreciate the help from Tia at the front desk. She was very nice and extremely helpful. She is one of the reasons we will be back. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and rested well. The breakfast is grab and go. They offered breakfast burritos, sausage biscuit, cereal, milk, bagels and breakfast condiments. We took ours back to the room and heated in the room microwave. I recommend this site if you are in the area and it is very close Antelope Island State Park where you can visit the Great Salt Lake. It’s approximately 20 miles from Salt Lake City Airport.

This was our second time staying here although the last was ~5 years ago. The hotel and room were clean and generally well maintained. We booked a 2-queen+sofa bed room and, unlike many other equivalent hotels, here the sofa bed was in its own separate room making this very spacious even for a family of 4 + dog!
The only minor thing to be aware of is that the in-room technology is slightly dated. There are no USB-sockets and while there were loads of power sockets around the room unfortunately quite a few of these were so old and loose that either an adapter would fall out of them or fail to just make electrical contact. This should be easy for management to fix and given the high standard of maintenance in every other aspect of the hotel I suspect they will. However, this was a minor issue (we could find enough working sockets for us) and we will definitely be staying here again whenever we next pass that way!

Great looking clean hotel but the walls are paper thin and at one point I thought a stranger was in our room. Loud walkers even shook a light fixture in our room. Quiet hours are advertised but not enforced from what I could tell. Staff was understanding but I don't think there's much they could do about the noise.

Pet friendly four storey hotel centrally located off the I15 freeway with lots of nice restaurants nearby. It has lemon water container available for anybody to enjoy at the lobby with cups. The free breakfast is way better than any free breakfast I experienced although the quantity of the food variety is lesser. I liked the vegetable omelet folded and the cinnamon bread. Delicious and breakfast area is adequate for in dining. The room is very comfortable. Rarely do I give 5 stars. Thank you HI Express Layton. Best hotel with low price.

We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express Layton-I-15. The Front Manager Dominique is by far one of the better Manager’s I’ve experienced at any of our IHG stays. She is prompt, knowledgeable and professional and really took care of two weary travelers. We were going to stay at Hill AFB Billeting, but thanks to Dominique, my Wife and I feel we got a “Much Better” room at a fair price at the Holiday Inn Express :-)

Stayed one night, one room for me and my husband, the other for my nephew. We went to my nephew’s room, and immediately smelled something foul. We thought it was sewage, and when my nephew checked the toilet, he found an unflushed turd. I went down to reception to request a different room and explained why, and the receptionist had nothing to say, only smirked. Is this an ongoing joke with the staff here, defecating in rooms for laughs? The hotel itself is absolutely gross, it needed a renovation 20 years ago, beyond dingy! Do not stay here, it’s disgusting! I’ve stayed at other Holiday Inn express hotels with no issues. This one needs a makeover and staff reprimands.

Stayed one night on way to Wyoming. Hallways and lobby needed flooring and paint. Dingy at best. Pool area was old. Room was clean, had good shower pressure, but beds were very soft. They do long term rentals as well. I would not plan to stay again.

Two IHG properties, two consecutive nights, twice DIRTY SHEETS. This is becoming a trend and a heath hazard. The local health departments need to be involved. Never before have I needed a shower so badly, disgusting, but guess what... no hot water. No hot water! Never stay here. Sleep in your car, stay at a Crazy 8, find a homeless shelter... all healthier options.
