This was the final night of a weeklong road trip. The hotel itself was fine and clean. We had a two queen bedroom by the freeway, but we didn’t hear any noise on this late Saturday night into Sunday.

Hotel offers grab n go like everywhere else, but we got down 9 minutes after it ended, and unfortunately was told that they ran out of everything anyway. That seemed odd, but after a week of staying in various Marriott hotels, I’m going to assume we didn’t miss out on anything special as no Marriott is offering any hot items.

They did have coffee out, and that was more important to me.

As a Titanium, this hotel was nice to offer us a 4pm late check-out, so we lounged around and let the kids use the pool.

If I needed to overnight in Layton again, this hotel did offer an inexpensive option to do so, and was pleased with what we paid for.

Hotel was extremely clean and we even had a "pet room." Pet friendly indeed - only $25 when nearby places charging $100 or more!

Room well appointed. WiFi more than adequate. Breakfast was back to normal with scrambled eggs, salsa, cereals, juices, milk, yogurt and waffles all available. Staff incredibly friendly, helpful, and outgoing - both day and night shifts. Ask for a room away from the freeway, and sleep comfortably and quietly. Would certainly stay there again.

This hotel is quite old it seems. However, it was NOT "worn down" or gross or anything. The lobby was nice. The breakfast was just OK but it was still good (just a total lack of options). The drinks machine wasn't working but the staff kept juice bottles cold and plentiful. The Black lady working the breakfast area was INCREDIBLY nice and responsive to customer needs and should be lauded for her attention. #PersonnelFile

For those with a big moving truck and towing a car, there's almost no room in this individual parking lot, but the spill-over between this and the Courtyard by Marriott is ample, well-lit, and provided a nice spot for parking. There aren't a lot of eating options right there, which is fine if you have a car but harder if you've parked a big vehicle like we did. Our option was Cracker Barrel and this individual Cracker Barrel was terrible.

One thing: on check in, there's a wheel spin to gain prizes. I got 1,500 Marriott points. Not a lot. But still cool. I told the gal and showed the gal but she didn't acknowledge that it was done because of the other question I had when I checked in (where I should park). I later told her to not forget. She wrote down my room number. A week later and nothing is there still. That's disappointing.

This place is terrible. We stopped here for the night while on a long trip from Montana to Las Vegas. Internet did not work in the rooms which desk attendant was unaware of, so I had to sit in closed dining area with my mask on to access wifi and work for an hour. meanwhile my sister in law discovered her sheets were dirty and had not been changed from the last guest. The desk attendant brought her sheets and told her she had to change them herself because housekeeping staff were gone (at 6 PM)! those sheets were not clean either. Disgusted we packed up to leave and desk attendant was rude and said it was not her fault - it was housekeeping that didn’t do their job. When we asked for refund she said no. I told her to call the owner who approved the refund. DONT stay here.
They clearly don’t care about covid and safety of guests.

The hotel was noisy, and all employees were extremely rude. They say they provide breakfast but they refuse to. One employee started taking out fruits and donuts and the other front desk employee took everything to the back by 7:00am. When leaving we asked where the breakfast was that they took back and they said we were wrong and they only provide coffee and juice.
When we first got to our room, it smelled awful and there were dead bugs on the wall and we had to ask for another room due to feeling like it was not clean enough for our kids. Even then, we wiped everything down again.
I would not stay at this hotel.

My spouse and daughter arrived 02/25/21. Told them we would have a dog, as expected charged pet fee. I arrived with our two dogs on 02/26/21. One dog stayed in the room, the other stayed in the back of our minivan as she is old and gets stressed at hotels. The morning of 02/27/21, my spouse brought the older dog from the minivan into the room for about an hour so my daughter could see her. While leaving the room with both dogs, the maid took a video or picture of her, which while not illegal we did not appreciate. They then charged for the second dog without asking us about it. I tried to resolve with the hotel, but no response. Wont be staying here again.

Thank you for your review. I have shared your feedback with the appropriate staff. I do apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay with us. The $25 per pet fee is standard here at this hotel. I did look through our records and couldn't find any correspondence with you regarding this matter. Once again, I do apologize for any misunderstanding.

Stayed Aug 22 for a single night. It was an Unpleasant experience all around. Usually I can depend on a Fairfield to provide a nice facility with professional staff but this was not the case during my stay at this hotel. Lobby furniture is stained and in poor condition, hallway flooring on the first floor was either poorly installed or poorly repaired and is all pushed up creating walking hazards. Window mount PTAC unit in the room barely limped along and room was not at a comfortable temp. Unprofessional and rude employees. It’s a never return to in my books.

I love Marriott hotels as you can tell from my reviews. The Fairfield Inn in Layton was a disappointment. First the good things, the staff was friendly. They had most of their hot items back for breakfast. My room was clean, bed was decent. The price was good.
The downside the gym was dirty and none of the machines worked properly. The elevator and hallways were filthy. The walls are thin so conversations and singing of neighbors were easily heard. There also was too many dogs. Barking was constant at night and early mornings.

When we arrived to check in the staff made us wait while they went to check if room was ready even though it was over an hour from the check in time and the manager was very short and didn’t really want to help us. Signs posted everywhere say to wear a mask but the gentleman who said he was was the manager wasn’t wearing one himself. When we got to our room it clearly hadn’t been cleaned well and we found multiple things that had been left from previous guest. I was disappointed by the hotel to say the least.

We stayed here in September, 2020, and the hotel staff were nice, the room was clean, and the AC worked well. We all had a very good night's sleep. Sadly, the grab-and-go breakfast was very lacking, only pre-packaged sweet items, yogurt, and bruised fruit.
