We loved this motel and stayed for several days. It is modest and unassuming, yet perfectly adequate. NOT part of a chain of motels, so this may explain why it is so nice. Comfy beds, plumbing worked well. The lady owner was very friendly and informative about things to see in the area. Not expensive, and much cheaper than the...

Like others, we foolishly didn't have Monument Valley reservations. We were directed to the Canyonlands Motel. The very nice owner advised us up front that there were no amenities. We didn't need TV, and good coffee was almost next door at 7-11. We had our meals at the San Juan. Our room was good sized and very clean and included...

Because we checked in very late (11pm) and the lady still welcomed us very nicely. Location close to monument valley. Room 7 was very cold. No wifi. Price is high for what it is. U can find something more comfortable if you book early.

We were travellingling without a plan. Everything for miles was booked. "No Vacancy" signs for miles. We met the proprietor in the parking lot. With a smile she said, "No TV, no Wi-Fi but you can handle the 3 S's." The room was VERY clean and comfy. We got nice, hot showers and a good night's sleep. The A/C is...

We only chose this motel for its proximity to Monument Valley and its price.($52).Our tiny room was very basically furnished (no fridge, no microwave, no TV, no coffee maker) probably because of the lack of space. The bed was not comfortable and we had to choose between AC and sleep (it was quite hot even at the beginning of June)...

When we drove through monument valley we made the mistake of not having booked a room up front. Naturally there is no connection anywhere and the hotel in Monument valley won´t let you use their wifi unless you are guest. That said we can´t really complain when we ended up at Canyonlands motel. Ok, the linens were clean and the...

The owner is very nice and friendly. Basic room but comfortable. No TV but who needs TV here? The AC was not working this day but we didn't need it anyway as it was cold enough outside. Only 60$ for the night :-)

There were no other vacancies in Mexican Hat that evening - only Canyonlands. I was skeptical but tired. The owner was friendly and VERY helpful. The room was old, small but CLEAN. If you are a frugal traveler and not bothered by "vintage" fixtures and a run-down appearance this is a GREAT place. We would stay there again.

There is no tv, air conditioning is loud and barely works. It was only $60 to stay for one night but you can't complain about something last minute. I wouldn't stay there again if I planned ahead of time but the bed was good enough for one night!

My husband & I have stayed here 5 times on motorcycle trips. We love the no frills, comfortable, basic rooms. The owner/operator is a hardworking indigenous lady. She is constantly repairing & cleaning & making sure her guests are comfortable. With what you save by lodging here, you can buy a steak dinner across the street, cooked on a cedar...
