We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Gouldings. A real feel for some of the history of the West and Hollywood movie connections. Stunning sunrise and sunset views from the lodge. Well worth visiting the Navajo Reservation and doing the circular Monument Valley tour if you have the time. A mecca for photographers!

Very clean, tidy accommodation but a little tired and dated now. Breakfast in restaurant was good, staff friendly and pleasant. The dirt road around the monuments needs a lot of work - not a pleasant experience in a family car - very uneven and full of very large potholes. I understand this is a dirt road but felt it could...

Goulding's Lodge and staff is so pleased that this guest enjoyed their stay with us at our historic property. Established in the 1920s as a Navajo trading post, the property has a long and diversified Monument Valley history. Goulding's Lodge is private property, outside of the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal park boundaries. There is a rustic, 17 mile dirt road...

Our room was nicely furnished. It had a sliding door which led to a balcony overlooking the valley. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our luggage and accessories. The bathroom was average and suited our needs for our overnight stay. Breakfast was served in the attractive dining room by very pleasant waiting staff. Instead of...

Our touring group of 38 stayed here again (last time was in 2009). They must have done some remodeling since we were here last and we were very impressed with the room amenities -- flat-screen tv, free Wi-Fi, couch, desk, small fridge & coffee pot, etc. The king bed was very comfortable. The view from the patio is outstanding. We...

Goulding's Lodge management and staff is so pleased to hear that this tour group enjoyed their return visit to our historic property. We had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff was courteous and efficient, the rooms were immaculate and the beds were soft, soft, soft. We came in after sunset, so didn't get to appreciate the scenery until the next morning. The sunrise over the Monument Valley mesas and buttes was just stunning. Definitely worth the...

Monument Valley was our last stop on our 2 week anniversary trip and wish we had more time. Great King room with beautiful views. Update furnishings along with a couch and refrig. Visited the Goulding Museum which was great too. Nice gift shop.

I frequented Goulding's over several days in late October 2013, eating at the restaurant several times and staying one night in the lodge. The food wasn't remarkable, but was very good considering the remoteness of the area. I made the mistake of ordering a beer, forgetting that the Navajo Nation is dry. The do have non-alcoholic beer at any rate....

SETTING: This facility is located in Monument Valley. There are some beautiful mountains around the RV park. I really enjoyed seeing the nearby monuments and driving my 4-wheel drive vehicle on the (free) 17-mile loop through them (including ever-present tables at all stopping points--where the locals try to sell you jewelry, etc.). Monument Valley is a must see area in...

Goulding's campground management and staff wants to thank this guest for their honest comments regarding their camping experience at our historic property. Since the early 1980s, Goulding's Lodge has been owned by a family with a long, American Southwestern history. If visiting Monument Valley then a stay at Goulding's Lodge is a must. Very historic as this is the lodge where John Wayne et al stayed when filming the Westerns.
