Detailed Reviews
Generally a pleasant stay here and the location is good. However, the soundproofing is poor so even quiet conversations are easily heard in the corridors and adjacent rooms and the doors are not designed to close quietly so lots of door-banging late at night and early morning. There is a huge public car park behind the building but you get a note from the hotel to display on your dashboard, allowing you to park near the front entrance for free/ or for a small charge. The room was spacious and bright – ask for a high floor and an even-numbered room so you can look out over the city towards the mountains and enjoy the views. The hotel and room facilities were all as expected and described on their website. It is a big disappointment that breakfast is not included in the fairly high room price and although you can buy meals in the restaurant, there are better value places with lovely food nearby. Or you could eat in your room as there is a small fridge and microwave and also a little market nook in the foyer where you can buy snacks, microwavable food, etc. The hotel is right behind Historic 25th street so you have easy access to restaurants, shops, Union Street Station museum, etc. note: watch out for users on the hireable electric scooters that are everywhere; they are not at all well regulated and users whizz around the pavements and along roads and over pedestrian crossings, right and in front of you! This is a problem because the carpark at the back of the hotel has a collection/drop-off point near the back exit of the hotel and during our stay there were often youths practising on the carpark at night and zipping around, & in and out of, the parked cars.

Response from Justin T, General Manager at Courtyard Ogden
Responded Feb 20, 2020
Dear Guest, We always appreciate the opportunity to hear of honest feedback about guest experiences here at the hotel, so thank you for taking time to provide it. It seems you had a pretty positive experience , with a few exceptions. We will share your comments with the team so your concerns are addressed thoroughly. I know Free breakfast seems standard or should be at all hotels , but the Courtyard standard is not complimentary. However, there are rate packages set up with Breakfast included that generally are the best deal on weekends. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know. Sincerely, Justin T General Manager

I stayed here for 3 nights for work in June and was in a king room. Check-in was easy, front desk staff and restaurant staff were very pleasant during my entire stay. Even when I had issues to discuss they were always professional and sympathetic.
The hotel's main areas were nice for a Courtyard, but nothing out of the ordinary. The gym was a good size with 4 treadmills, an elliptical, universal, and a rack of dumbbells.
The bistro restaurant for breakfast was very good. I like it much better than the old Courtyard buffet breakfast they offered years ago, the offerings now are a much higher quality. As a Titanium Elite Lifetime Member they offered a $10 daily credit. I used it for breakfast each morning. The credit was applied to my bill appropriately.
My room was unfortunately the same old tired Courtyard look as it has been for the past 7ish years. The furniture was worn, and the lighting fixtures by the bed were dated. It was, however, clean and the bathroom was a nice upgrade from earlier versions. It now has a walk-in shower with glass doors and much nicer shampoo, conditioner, and body wash contained in the shower dispensers.
During my stay I had a few issues.
First off, my room was not very cold when I arrived, so I turned the thermostat down to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. However it never got even close to that and was probably hovering around 68-70. I spoke with the front desk the next morning and they said the maintenance person would take a look. Upon returning that day, I spoke with the front desk and they said that the maintenance person looked at it and said all was working fine and that he just had to change the intake filter. During the rest of my stay, I got more airflow in my room, but the temperature stayed around 68 degrees even though it was set to 60. When I was checking out, I let the front desk know of this issue and they said the building was old and that they would offer me points for my trouble. During this conversation, another guest was waiting behind me in line and also said that his room never got cold either. This issue alone will prevent me from staying here in the summer months.
My next issue was that upon returning to my room on my second day (after 9pm) my room had not been serviced. I talked to the front desk, they apologized and offered to compensate me with points and also said that new towels would be sent up to my room. After 30 minutes the towels did not arrive, so I called the front desk again and they arrived in the next 7 minutes.
With both issues the front desk said they would talk to the GM. I'm not sure if that ever happened, but I never was contacted by them. In the end, they awarded my account 5000 points. Not very much but, but proportional to staying at this Courtyard.
Overall, not a great stay, but not horrible either. Since it is the only Marriott property in the Ogden area, you are either stuck here or need to work on your Hilton points (they have 4 hotel brands in Ogden). If I do decide to stay here again, the air conditioning issue will probably cause me to only stay here during cold weather months.

Stopped here when passing through Ogden. Big hotel. Very Covid aware. big parking lot. walk across the back lot right into the downtown area where you find many dining options and shops. choose a high floor so you get a view of the town and the mountains. One criticism: They charge $5 dollars to park in their lot if stay in the hotel. This seems unnecessary. the lot is enormous and it angers the person to add such an add on cost.

We arrived about 5pm the night of our stay and were a little nervous by the appearance of the exterior but that worry quickly changed to delight after walking into the lobby. This place looks great. They’ve done some very nice updating and and it’s only 1 block off of historic 25th street. Very cool location.
My Wife and I came for a quick night away from the kiddos and our main purpose like most was to rest and relax. A large part of that is getting a good nights sleep. The second I sat down on the bed I knew we were in for a rough night. The beds here are VERY FIRM. We have a smart sleep number at home so I’m used to having the perfect level of comfort and I like very soft beds.
After laying on the bed for a bit, my back was already starting to hurt. I called room service to get some extra pillows and they were very quick to respond. The extra pillows helped but I just tossed and turned all night.
Overall the hotel and staff were great (5 stars) but the main reason to come here was to get some uninterrupted rest as a couple but instead tossed and turned all night trying to get comfortable. We wound up leaving more tired than when we arrived🥱☹️. I don’t care how nice the appearance of the hotel is, if the beds aren’t comfortable, everything else is pointless.

Hello Guest, Your feedback is very much appreciated, as it serves as a report card for how well we take care of our guests, so thank you for taking valuable time to respond. It seems other than the bed, you had a very positive experience, which as you say really makes the whole experience, pointless. We are in process of getting our mattresses inspected and if discovered are in bad shape like yours was, will be replaced. Thanks again for your time and we hope to see you again in the future. Sincerely, Justin T General Manager

The room was extremely outdated and not clean we traveled 2800 miles this trip and this was the worst hotel we stayed in the guest service was subpar and there were little to no guest amenities. You have to pay for parking even though they have a large lot that is in need of repaving and the decor is dirty and outdated. In 2020s current climate this is unacceptable.

I stay at the courtyard 2-3-4 times a year. The rooms are nice, clean. Its convenient for my needs. I have always been satisfied. HOWEVER, this time instead of using trip advisor/booking.com I called the desk to reserve a specific room(5 days prior to staying). I wanted a ground floor courtyard room. To my dismay when I arrived they had no ground floor rooms available. I was told they could not guarantee specific rooms. Also, the price went up and no included breakfast. I feel like if you call and ask for a specific room, they should hold that reservation before giving the room to a walk in guest.
I think I will find a different, more accommodating place to stay when I visit my sister from now on. Where the room I choose is actually RESERVED .

Poor Customer Service, Never Again! Checked into this hotel for a three night business trip, got to my room and it was about 90 degree with the room heat turned off. Tried to turn on the AC and it only blew hot air. Went to the front desk to complain and the clerk KNOWINGLY gave me a room with a heat problem stating there were no other rooms available, but they could give me a fan to circulate the hot air! When I questioned if every other guest had already checked in, I was told that all of the other rooms were blocked and could not be changed. So really, this hotel never has a guest that doesn't make their reservation due to illness, late flights, or family emergencies? The overheated, unsafe room should have been left as the very last room to be given out! Unfortunately I had to check out, stay with a co worker for the first night and find another hotel for the remainder of my trip. Sadly for Ogden Marriott, not only have they lost me as a customer, but as the Controller for my company, I will ensure they lose my Company's business as well! Poor customer service never pays off.

Clean, Comfortable & Convenient! We could not have been happier with our choice to stay here. The accommodations were a cut above3 what we had expected in downtown Ogden. The hotel was very convenient to allow us to stroll around the downtown which had many nice restaurants nearby. We didn't eat at the hotel during our stay, but that was only because there were so many nice places to give out tastebuds a workout. We were in town to visit with friends & relatives in nearby cities and we found the hotel very convenient to the freeway, restaurants and local attractions. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. When we visit the Ogden area we will definitely stay here.

But be warned! If you want a smooth successful event DO NOT go here. In short; terrible food including raw chicken. Inexperienced young event planners who don't know what they are doing who ghosted us the hours before our event and claimed we should know who to contact but never gave us any contact info. Unfulfilled promises such as pipe and drape on our stage, waiting until we asked were it was for them to say "we aren't going to do that, but you can outsource." This was 3 hours before our event DAY OF! Missing appetizers for cocktail hour and 45 minutes late, dinner was 15 minutes late, the buffet line was all over the place starting with chicken then moving to salad at the end. They offered a $250 refund off a pretty expensive event and on our call to discuss the issues were defensive and snarky. Speaking with a low tear management named Karen who was very unprofessional. Extremely disappointed in the whole experience. We room our employees and guests at this hotel and will discontinue use. The guests who attended this dinner, many large companies from Utah, will also never use this facility for their guests or events. Extreme loss for Ogden Courtyard, but if this is their best "service" shame on them.

We stayed at this Courtyard when UND played Weber State in the NCAA football playoffs. In addition to decorating the lobby with our school colors, everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and is in the heart of historic downtown . We were within walking distance to several great restaurants and felt very safe at all times.
