After a two year absence due to the pandemic we returned to the Chateaux for a great ski vacation. As always the location was great. Food in the restaurant seemed to be even better than before and the location near the slope was essential to avoid the crowds at the lodges

Recently, my husband and I traveled to Deer Valley to visit our favorite Utah hotel, The Chateaux, and this trip exceeded every single expectation we had from this incredible property. Firstly, I have to give a special shoutout to Michael Provenzano, the front office manager. Michael called us ahead of time and let us know that because we had been coming to the Chateaux for 20 plus years, he was upgrading our room. He also allowed us to get the attached King bedroom for a very reasonable price as well, so we had a large bed and more room to move around. When we arrived, we were greeted by Michael and his wonderful staff at the front desk. Everyone was so eager to help us in anyway we needed and made us feel immediately welcome, which was amazing after such a long trip. Now, to the room we were given....I was BLOWN AWAY by the beauty and extraordinary view of the room...As world travelers, we have stayed in 5 star resorts in the US and abroad , and my husband and I looked at each other and were both speechless. We knew that we were upgraded to this room because of the kindness and care of Michael, and we were beyond grateful. For all of us , this year has been one of the worst ever, so coming to the Chateaux for a week of relaxation and respite, was extraordinary. It truly rejuvenated us both. Even though there was no snow all week, the slopes were perfectly groomed and my husband said it was some of the best skiing he has had in a long time. Breakfast was delicious each morning and was served family style for safety. Every staff member was meticulous in following Covid protocol and we felt perfectly safe each day. On the day that we left, I truly did not want to leave because of how amazing this trip was. If I could give the staff and the Chateaux a 10 star review I certainly would. If you are lucky enough to visit Deer Valley in your travel plans, I would highly recommend you don't miss staying at this fabulous property.

There are so many attractive options for lodging in the Deer Valley area, but year-after-year, we keep coming back to the Chateaux. The value, the amenities, the rooms, the location; all of them are exceptional. But most of all, we return every season because, amongst all the places we've stayed in our travels, the staff sets the standard for great hospitality. We always feel like we're staying with great friends.
Kristin in the lounge/bar is *wonderful*. Attentive, funny, and a great mixologist. Even with all the oddness of a pandemic, masks, etc. she made every evening relaxing and fun, and we so enjoyed just chatting with her when the lounge was slow. She's a great asset to the hotel, and a perfect example of why we keep coming back!
Aly and Kendal at the front desk are total pros, attentive to every need, and hilarious. Jonathan in the bar/restaurant is great, as are the shuttle guys, who go above and beyond to get you (and your skis!) where you want to be. We can't say enough about how convenient the shuttle is. It makes it completely doable to forego renting a car or relying on spotty uber/lyft service.
Nice rooms are everywhere at top dollar resorts like DV, but the value at the Chateaux is unparalleled, and every single staffer works their hardest to make you feel welcome and at home. We'll be back again soon, no doubt.

It's our second time staying at The Chateaux. The first time was not as bad as the second one but it was a very short stay so I can't give a full review. During our first stay I lost my hat in the hotel and when I sent an email to ask if they have it they told me that they will call me back. They never did and when I eventually called them a few days later, they said they never found the hat. A courtesy call or message to inform me would suffice. Whereas in St Regis where my husband left his watch at the spa, the staff went high and low to reach to him (and they found the watch).
The second time we were here we stayed for 8 nights in Feb 2021. I cannot say anything memorable during our stay there from Day 1 sadly.
The housekeeping was unsatisfactory throughout our whole stay. Dining table was never wiped, pillow cushions were still on the floor from the time we left to the time we got back to the room, food and bread crumbs on the rug which were not hoovered for days and not a single water bottle to replenish everyday. We then had to ask them to make sure we have enough water in the room. I had to write them an email asking for a better housekeeping on Day 4. They tried but still not to the a satisfactory standard I was hoping for in any hotels; basic cleanliness.
Due to COVID they were no buffet but they fixed the breakfast menus for you and bring them to your table. It's not the same everyday but you'll get the same menu every other day. Which is fine but I was hoping that they would at least make their guests some toast as an everyday or optional menu (like the have for oat porridge). I asked if they can make me a toast of bread as I don't fancy anything else. They were unable to do it (even though they have breads it the kitchen). On the last few days, they ran out of space that there was a long queue for everyone before they can be seated.
A few days before we left The Chateaux we ordered two glasses of wine for dinner. It was served in a glass covered with a cling wrap and paper. We only drank one of them and left the other one untouched and had put it aside. The next day the wine was gone and we called to ask where they had put it. The housekeeping told that they found the glass in their staffroom and they will return it back to us. We then heard a knock on the door and came our missing wine. I was not pleased as I do not know where it's been so I declined the wine and called the reception. Unfortunately the reception was not helpful but the housekeeping called to apologize and gave us a bottle of wine to makeup for it.
We do however love the location. it's right opposite to the ski in/ski out and the opposite restaurant Goldener Hirsch is one of the best restaurants we have been to. We would just walk there for dinner every night. If you don't mind the service, the Chateaux has all the basic facilities you'd need and the location is amazing. But we will not be staying with them after our second experience sadly. The price we paid is too high for the service they offer.

After a two year hiatus we returned to The Chateaux with high expectations as our last visit was wonderful. This time around there were several missteps which has us reconsidering for our next trip to Deer Valley. We found the front desk staff to be polite but disinterested and poorly trained when a problem arose. Firstly we had a leak in our room caused by an ice dam. Ok these things happen. But the response my husband received was poor, “ we will send an engineer up in 40 minutes”. That is an inappropriate response. My husband insisted that one come immediately and when he did he said you have a leak, but I cant repair it. Knowing this from the start we should have been offered to change rooms but it was not until my husband went back down to the front desk and “ happened to “ see Ms Keller that any action was taken. We were moved to a different room and upgraded but the circus continued. The two heat regulators in our room were more than difficult to maneuver. Our heat shut off , room temp 55 Degrees, completely on its own and one engineer came up to investigate saying the completely opposite of a second engineer who came up the following day. We lost heat completely and then we were unable to regulate the very loud fan so that my husband could not sleep and had a night in the living room on the sofa! The bar tenders at the bar were like zombies, never making eye contact or offering any kind of acknowledgement or a smile. One evening we entertained friends in the bar, one of whom is a ski instructor and he was even commenting how poor the servers were. You did not know if they even “ heard “ your order, terrible. The breakfast buffet is never kept warm and the eggs are always a solid block. There are very limited choices and the wait staff is all over you, constantly interrupting conversations which is unnecessary. We did find the two concierges to be most helpful and John the shuttle driver is so polite, as was the reception at the breakfast stand.

Responded Feb 2, 2020
Dear CCareytravels, I sincerely apologize for the experience you had while staying with us. It is very disappointing to hear that we failed in so many different areas during your visit. I am grateful for your willingness to speak with us about the missteps that occurred. We will certainly use your feedback as a training opportunity to ensure the team is focused on each guest experience. I do hope you will consider returning the next time you are in Park City so that you may see that this is not a typical experience. Sincerely, Sarah Keeler Hotel Manager

Staying at The Chateaux was truly a dream, and I am excited to plan my next visit! I come from the land of “Minnesota Nice” and I felt right at home with the kind staff of the resort.
Our party had the pleasure of working with Michael, and he set us up with a perfect, worry-free, relaxing stay. The suite we stayed at far exceeded our expectations. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the rooms were spacious and clean. We were stocked with all of the essentials, and more, so I didn’t need to request a thing! You can truly tell that the staff is attentive to the finer details so that you can focus on your vacation!
The breakfast was extraordinary, so be sure to include that as part of your stay! The menu would change slightly each day to keep things exciting and new, and I really appreciated the variety.
The shuttle service was enjoyable, too! We got the opportunity to ride with Nick and Alex, and they were professional and helpful in getting us to our desired locations promptly.
Thank you again, Michael, and the rest of the staff at The Chateaux, for orchestrating a wonderful stay, and making us feel that we are worthy of the finer things in life.

The Chateau Deer Valley is one of our favorite places to stay at while in Park City. We stay at least once every year. This stay was impeccable from the start. The room was clean, the fireplace made it cozy for the conditions, and the staff went above and beyond in customer service. We travelled from southern Utah for a getaway and didn’t think much of the weather report of snow for our last day. We got caught going up the mountain in a blizzard at around 9pm our last night and after an hour of desperation in trying to get through the snow and being stuck, I finally called the resort and asked for help. That is when I first met Adrian, the front desk supervisor. Adrian answered the phone and when I told him we were stuck and needed help, he reassured me that he would find someone to come get us taken care of. Within 5 minutes I got a call back from Adrian saying he was going to send Dave with security to give is a hand. Dave showed up within 5 minutes and took us back to our room and told us he would get our car safely back to the hotel and told us not to worry. Within 30 minutes Dave had our car back to the resort safe and sound. I can’t tell you how relieved my wife and I were that Adrian and Dave were here to help us and were consummate professionals at their jobs. I can’t think of better examples of Outstanding Customer Service. Huge props to both Adrian and Dave! I highly recommend the Chateau at Deer Valley for anyone looking for the beat in resort accommodations!

The Chateaux at Deer Valley is perfect. Within steps of the ski lift, The Chateaux offers everything we could have asked for and more. My wife and I visited for two nights to celebrate our anniversary with a ski trip and could not have been more impressed. Our room was fantastic. Very spacious, views of the mountain, fireplace at the foot of the bed, huge bathroom with double sink and large shower, and an overall feel of luxury. Breakfast buffet (included) was one of the better buffets I've had, with lots of choices including fresh berries. The service at the hotel was top notch. Michael, the GM, was particularly exemplary. He took care of us from the moment we walked in, had our room ready ahead of schedule, helped us with ski rentals (attached in the lobby - very convenient), gave us amazing Park City recommendations, and checked in on us every morning at breakfast to make sure we were having a perfect getaway. You really can't ask for much more in Deer Valley, I would recommend this hotel to everyone, whether it be young couples or family vacations. This hotel has everything you need. Stop reading reviews and book a reservation.

This review is for the “suites” portion of the resort, not the main building.
1.) Do not stay in the “Studio” rooms, they do not have enough closet space, have small pull down Murphy beds and small bathrooms.
2.) Our Room had the lowest end internet TV, did not have any network or subscription channels.
3.) Bathroom sink drain was stopped up.
4.) Murphy bed had blood stains on duvet cover.
5.) Kitchenette light did not work.
6.) Construction demolition work started at 8:00 each morning. They were breaking up an old concrete patio with a hydraulic hammer. The building shook.
7.) Regular entrance into building is closed so you have to walk through the parking lot to get to the building where suites are.
Having said that, the main “hotel” side was nicer but had very standard rooms. We spent most of our time and money next door at Stein Eriksen.

A beautiful charming hotel located right outside the entrance to Deer Valley. It's not the most spectacular of hotels but it more than makes up for it with their friendly staff who are very attentive and eager to help. Breakfast is very good and you will love it for the first 2 days but more than that it gets a little repetitive. Rooms have gas fireplaces that get really hot. Free shuttle gets you into the main Park City downtown area which was really convenient (and will pick you up too).

Chateaux is at 8000'. Definitely take the necessary precautions (drink lots of water, rest and relaxation on your first day or two) and you should be alright!
The Chateuax is about 45 minutes from Salt Lake City. I have not been there during the pandemic but during normal times Lyft and Uber were readily available
Same mattress/bedding - really comfy! And if you tell the front desk you’re using the Murphy, they’ll provide turn down daily. We switched off and had adults or kids sleeping in it and it was great.
I was there in dead of winter so I don’t know. They had 2 hot tubs outside that they said not to bring drinks to. I will say the service was impeccable so they would likely help out with anything they could.
