We rented a house during the summer with 2 other families. Although not cheap, when you do the math, 5 hotel rooms cost more.

Park City is about 5 minutes away by car or you could walk down the hill in about 20 minutes. Salt Lake City is about 45 minutes by car.
I don't know for sure if Steins has a car / shuttle service but I think they do.
