Hyatt House Salt Lake City/Sandy is lauded by many for its cleanliness, with special mention of the housekeeping staff, and its prime location near skiing, shopping, and dining venues. While the rooms are generally appreciated for their comfort and amenities, some guests have pointed out issues with outdated decor and occasional noise. The range of amenities, including well-equipped kitchens and a convenient shuttle service, adds to the hotel's appeal, though suggestions for additional storage have been made. Our second stay at this hotel and we enjoyed our stay. It is the perfect location should you ski at Snowbird or Alta Ski Resorts bc it is only a 25 min drive from the hotel to the resorts. If you don’t want to drive then there is a bus station within a couple miles from the hotel that leaves every 15 mins.
The hotel itself is very well kept. The outdoor pool and hot tub are nicely heated. We really like that it is pet friendly so we could bring our dog but yes there is a non refundable pet fee of $75. The rooms are very spacious with full kitchen, living room, step in shower and separate bedroom from the living room.
I liked the workout room and it is open 24 hours. (Photo provided)
Breakfast is served every morning until 9:30 with plenty of options. I would say this hotel is ideal for families and for business travelers bc of how close it is to exhibit venues and things to do. For families, go on State Street to find all the restaurants, mall, gas stations.

I would have given this hotel a 5 out of 5 but I wasn’t happy with the front desk interactions during our stay. I felt like an inconvenience every time I went up to ask for something. After an 8 hour drive to get to the hotel, it took over 25 mins to get us checked in-we are World Hyatt Members.
No complimentary toothbrushes.
I asked if they had hot water available and was told some lame excuse about the spigot needed to warm up. What? One attendant didn’t even know if they had hot water.
I wanted to charge a soda to my room, but I wasn’t acknowledged by the front desk attendant bc someone was in front of me complaining about their room. The front desk attendant left the front desk for some reason so I just left the soda on the counter and had my husband go back later.

The location is convenient, check-in was efficient, the room was good sized and clean, and the employees we interacted with were very personable. Seeing my broken leg, they provided several options for room location to make it easier with my limited mobility. There was a problem with the battery for the pool lift on the day of our stay,, but the isssue was ultimately resolved and I was informed that they will now keep two batteries on hand at all times so that one is always charged. It was nice to still have breakfast available even with current COVID restrictions, and they offered a solid variety of foods/drinks. We will definitely return to this property.

I stayed at Hyatt House Sandy to visit with my family who came in from out of town. The rooms were very nice and had a kitchen with a Full Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher, and plates and cutlery. Coffee was mediocre and if you poor from the pot in the room too fast you will spill! I hope they get the igniter fixed on the grill out by the pool soon so you won't have to use a lighter. Breakfast was wonderful but if you go during peak hours, be prepared to wait in line for your coffee and pray that it isn't empty by the time you get to it. I had heard that they had once offered "build your own omelet bar. It is a shame that we didn't have it for our visit. Just a note, if you are coming in from out of state, be prepared to stop at the liquor store on 90th South if you want to imbibe as the bar there is not open and the stores here do not sell hard liquor. Do that before Sunday because they are not open on that day or on the holidays. There are plenty of things to do right near the hotel. The Living Planet Aquarium is down the street on the other side of the freeway. You can take in a play at the Hale Center Theater. If it's soccer season, Real is right behind the hotel. And when it's not soccer season, they usually have other events, like concerts there. Southtown mall is very close and there are many quality restaurants, shops and bars.

The hotel building and facilities are nice and spacious. However all the staff and most guests are unmasked.

The breakfast bar is ok but using it requires close proximity to unmasked staff and patrons. The same is true in the elevators, full of unmasked guests.

Housekeeping services came by our room only once during a 7 day stay, but only after multiple requests to do so. Management needs to step up and be better organized about this.

The hallways contains trash bags and dirty dishes left out by guests, which are then picked sometimes day later. It’s unpleasant to walk halls lined with garbage bags when coming home from a long day to a room one is paying for.

For those concerned about staying safe during the omicron variant surge of Covid, stay far away from this hotel. Its management, staff, and many guests are belligerently unconcerned about Covid courtesy.

I’ve never stayed at a hotel that lacks such insulation from sound. The heaters in the room are loud so I can only imagine the AC unit will be even louder. And if you end up by the highway you will be woken up to morning traffic starting at around 4am and they don’t tell you the room is by the highway and if you need to change rooms no one will help you. Maids don’t replenish coffee or the condiments. If you prefer tea forget it you get 2 choices and that won’t be replenished either. And they don’t like to give you towels either. I don’t recommend this hotel

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Yellowstone. The hotel is easy to access off the freeway.
The checkin took 20 minutes with only 1 lady working and 1 person being helped. She was not the most friendly staff I’ve come across. She also huffed and puffed at times while checking us in.
The rooms were good size and great for our family of 5. The showers were NOT good. The water didn’t get warm enough and the shower heads in both bathrooms sprayed all over. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast takeaway (Covid) was very poor. The staff again was not friendly or helpful. Our fruit was peaches in water and our orange juice was off.
I give it 3 stars for long checkin wait, unfriendly staff, and the showers.

I've stayed at this property several times, and I keep coming back. The rooms feel very spacious and clean- Definitely feels more like a retreat rather than just another hotel room. The salt water pool is heated, which is always a bonus when I'm traveling with my kids. They want to swim no matter what season it is.

Prior to this visit, my family had never stayed at Hyatt House and wasn't quite sure what to expect. For a competitive rate, we ended up staying in a 1 bedroom suite, which at this property genuinely meant two rooms with a door between them. We had plenty of space in a clean, inviting, functional space, which worked out especially well as we had to extend our stay twice while waiting on a repair for the RV we'd come to town to pick up. We arrived at 3 am and were graciously greeted by Tara, who helped with all our needs and made our pup quite happy with a treat. Everything was great, good shower, comfortable bed, help whenever we needed it. This property will be our go-to whenever we travel through the Salt Lake City are in the future.

I liked how cute and convenient the rooms were. I love the location perfect to go skiing or to go out as it is right by the highway. They need to work out a few things due to covid such as how they pick up garbage from the rooms when they are not doing housekeeping. The juice machine was broken so no juice for us. Wasn't super impressed with the breakfast, other hotels have done some nicer things during covid but it wasn't bad. The room was clean and practical. Will definitely stay here again. Housekeeping disturbed us early on check out morning to try getting our room done. I hate when hotels do that, why don't they let housekeeping know who has checked out. But not a deal breaker.

Rooms were nice. I enjoyed having a choice for the sack breakfast (an adjustment for COVID). The large shower stall makes me want to remodel my own bathroom. The staff was accommodating (they let me use an extra chair in my room, and gave me an extra bottle of lotion because my skin just drinks it in). The gym was open with stringent rules. I feel like I missed out on the hot tub. The kitchen had cookware, flatware, dishes, fridge, microwave, and stove, but no toaster. The WiFi was steady, but we had to log in each morning. This Hyatt House was suitable for our needs.
