Detailed Reviews
This is our fourth or fifth time staying here and I believe our third or fourth Christmas at this particular hotel. We've always had a great time here especially around the holidays and we usually try to show the staff our appreciation by giving them some treats for Christmas. We love the location, our kids quite enjoy the slide and kids area in the pool, it's right next to the Amtrak and they've always had pretty decent breakfasts and dinner socials, until this year. You can definitely feel a big difference in the atmosphere. Hotel staff wasn't as friendly as they used to be, you aren't given very many amenities in your hotel room. We received only one roll of bathroom tissue for each bathroom, no hand soap for one of the bathroom sinks, one roll of paper towels, no dishcloth. Stuff you didn't realize you needed till you ran out but times before these items were never in short supply. It became quite frustrating to constantly run down to the front desk to grab these supplies and not have anyone available. A sign was up quite often stating they were off helping another guest and would be back in about five minutes. It was never five minutes. They demand you wear wristbands when going into the pool area but not everyone was forced to wear them upon entering, but it was also frustrating because there would be nobody at the front desk to help you when you needed to grab the wristbands. I came across many frustrated guests at the front counter when I needed something who had said they had been waiting for at least 20 mins and even dialed "0" on the phone and nobody answered. We believe we are honest guests and try our best to keep our hotel room and linens clean, even with a dog. BUT, for some reason this year, they decided that we had done almost $80 worth of damage in their towels. They didn't say anything to us about it. I was going over our credit card statement and noticed the charge and so my husband called them up and asked what the charge was for. We didn't receive an email or anything about it. Out of all the years of us staying there and making sure we keep all things in good condition, they decided to charge us for some damaged towels(that I honestly know weren't damaged)and I'm really curious as to how many towels were "damaged". There is no possible way the towels cost that much, sorry, they are cheap hotel towels, and if they are always charging people for damaged towels, like they did us for whatever reason, why are they still putting towels with stains and holes in their hotel rooms?! We are beyond frustrated with the hotel at this point and will no longer recommend them to anyone. Unless we can get the manager to fully explain why they charged us and what the damage was that was done, we will no longer stay here. I recommend that anyone who stays here double check your bank and credit card statements. If they wrongfully charged us, then they probably wrongfully charged you.

I booked this hotel based on reviews and was disappointed. The overall feel of the place was dirty. Stains on the carpets in the main areas were a turn off as were kids running around through the halls without masks. The room itself was supposed to be a King bed when in Fact it was a double.
Nothing was available. I roamed the hotel looking for an ice machine only to find I had to go to the front desk who would then get ice from the kitchen. My wife had to ditch her pillows as she said theY smelled of deodorant
2 baggage carts for the entire hotel sent you on a search to find one.
We were looking forward to a hot breakfast but we’re handed a bag that had cereal with milk & a fruit.
Add the fact that the hotel in more or less under an overpass where people walking the side of the road can look into your room and I won’t be staying here again.
By the way 18 wheeler tractors parked & running in amongst the cars in the parking area.

Hi Ray C, Thank you for sharing your experience from your recent visit with us. We want you to enjoy the best of home and hotel. I’m sorry that we didn't strike the balance this time because of the uncleanliness and other issues with our facilities. I've also read the concerns with the noise from other guests and the letdowns with the breakfast offerings. I have shared your comments with the local management, and I trust that they will do the necessary actions to improve the service. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I hope that you would choose us again the next time you visit the area. Regards, Virgil N. Case Manager IHGService

My daughter, granddaughter and I along with 2 small dogs were road tripping from Nevada to Illinois. Our 2 bedroom/ 2 bath suite was perfect to unwind after a long day on the road. We enjoyed a great to go bag breakfast of pineapple juice, yogurt, bagel, mandarin orange, and granola bar. About an hour down the road I realized I had forgotten my IPad. I called the hotel and they said they had been trying to reach me, but didn’t have my complete phone number. They happily agreed to fed ex my IPad and I received it today. A big thank you to the staff for the great service!

We arrived and our room smells musky and just off. The furniture is all tore up. We also had no towels in our room. That wasn't a huge deal. The most frustrating thing though is that our reservation included two adults and two older kids who are sleeping on the hide away bed. So we go down to the front desk to ask for blankets for the kids. Apparently there is not one single extra blanket in this whole entire hotel, just some sheets for our kids to sleep with. This is just absurd! The lotion bottle in the bathroom was half used and gross. Sharp knives left under the sink right at toddler level and of course my toddler found them right away. Thank God we were watching him closely or it could have been bad. The utility closet is also unlocked giving people open access to the furnace. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because my kids are enjoying the pool.

Dear samanthaaM3332DV, I appreciate you for sharing your review about your recent stay. I am very sorry that you did not experience an exemplary hotel stay due to our staff not providing an extra blanket and to the smell, as well as maintenance, of our room. This is certainly below our usual high standard of service. Please be assured that I have noted and forwarded your comments for the management to improve. In the midst of the inconvenience, I am glad to know that your kids were able to enjoy the pool. I very much hope that you will grant us the opportunity to prove ourselves again. Best Regards, Ben W. It's a chlorine gas chamber. The instant you open the door to the pool and water slide your eyes and lungs will burn. We tried it for 2 days thinking that maybe they had just added chemicals, but no... it just needs some ventilation. Our whole family turned red coughing, and we had to quickly leave. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly.

We were disappointed with this Staybridge. We stayed at Staybridge in Rapid City and it was the most amazing stay. The happy hour socials were amazing in Rapid City. This one was very disappointing. Room amentities were nice. Dove products are nice. But food was gross. Breakfast and happy hour weren't good. Food was cold and under cooked. Wouldn't even eat out of fear of getting sick.

All things considered, I would have given the review a 5 star but for the night front desk on 7/17( and 7/14 or (7/15 early morning). Both of those occasions, the individuals behaved as if they were forced to be there and more so "why bother me attitude"
Otherwise its clean with a breakfast that has plenty of variety ( including vegan)

This is where you want to stay if you are going to Salt Lake City, UT (West Valley) esp. if you are traveling with family or friends with kids. My family is still raving about this hotel and the overall 5 star customer service, amenities, and extras you get for free that are not offered at other hotels. I was impressed to find that they have a movie theatre in the hotel with overstuffed leather reclining seats with cup holders and free drinks...just bring your favorite movie and they will play it for you and your family. Next, we were wowed by the waterpark in the hotel....perfect for families with children which includes a large hot tub for the adults to swim in as they watch the kids slide down the large indoor/outdoor slide. The also have an arcade for the kids as well as free full breakfast every morning. The hotel is new and the granite countertops, modern kitchen and comfy bed make this hotel the perfect place to stay when traveling to SLC. The hotel staff are very accomodating and the manager David is friendly and attentive to your needs. The rooms are large with plasma tv's in every room and the bedding is super fluffy and soft. All utensils, pots and pans, glasses, and cookware are stocked in the kitchen and they even offer free laundry...a great value and a beautiful hotel....I highly recommend...you won't be disappointed...it exceeded my expectations :-)

We came for a 5 day vacation with our family to this hotel. We hoped to have a relaxing time with our young children which was not possible because in the breakfast room they have FIVE TV's and according to their hotel rules all tv's have to be on Fox News 24/7. Every time we would come to this room with our kids to have breakfast, dinner or to play board games they would be exposed to news of terrorism, war & politicians screaming at each other. Our 3 & 6 yr old kids were freaked out by all the scary images. One day we were there with three other families & the news was just horrible & we decided to change one of the Tv's to cartoons for the kids. As soon as one of the moms tried to do it a hotel employee ran and told her that this is a Fox News hotel and she couldn't change it to cartoons. When he left I tried to switch to cartoons, and he came back & said the same exact thing again. I explained that we just wanted cartoons on one of the TV's for the kids, and he said that we couldn't do it. Later the hotel manager confirmed that according to the owners of this hotel all T.V's have to be on Fox News. The same man later came & told our family and we were in "minority" if we didn't like Fox News. I have nothing against Fox News! I just don't want my young children exposed to these horrifying images while they are still this young. We hate this hotel policy and won't be coming back! Wish the TV's were on the Food channel, HGTV or Cartoons. Now that would be relaxing & fun!

Perfect hotel with a complete suite, free dinner and breakfast. It was perfect except we went to entertain our 4 year old grandson at the water park, as we drive by daily and he sees the big waterslide. Unfortunately for safety reasons they require a minimum of 48". Even though he had a life jacket and would slide with an adult, he didn't get to ride...very disappointing, but he did have some fun on the small slides. Great place for adults or kids!

I'm sorry, I didn't open it, but it looked like it would be about the size of a full-size bed, not a queen. I find most pull-out sofas at hotels so uncomfortable and mis-shapen that one adult can find comfort by sleeping at odd angles, but this wouldn't be the case with 2 people.
Bbchin yes! Everyone will love it here. the waterpark is hard to beat and everyone can gather to watch a movie in the theater. perfect place for those age groups. the arcade room and concessions arra will be really popular with your kids too. another option I would recommend is renting a large vacation home. there is a company called Utah's Best Vacation Rentals who offer large homes you can rent on their website to save on lodging for big groups. they have homes that sleep 30 with private pools. hope this helps. enjoy.
oh p.s.....make sure you do not leave anything in your vehicle and it is locked. Be careful when you go out at night.....don't know if you are from Utah but West Valley is not the safest place...lots of gang activity and shootings.
