The oldest house in Bennington Village circa 1774, the Safford Mills Inn and Cafe offers the ambiance of the past with the modern amenities of today. We are not a typical Out in the Country, Peace & Quiet kind of B&B, but more of an In-Town, Night life "A&A"...Accommodations and Aperitifs. Every Weekend the Inn is a buzz with activities and gatherings, going on until around 10pm.

We traveled through in the middle of leaf season and enjoyed the stay. The location was ideal for a one evening stay because it was on the same street as some good restaurants within walking distance. The old house has been transformed very nicely into...More

This B&B is located in an old house with some beautiful wood floors and other wood work. Plenty of parking is available. There are two upstairs and 3 downstairs rooms. We had the ground floor Tapestry room which was a nice sized room with a...More

Hi folks. I apologize. I wish I knew you needed more closet space. I may have been able to adjust things and put you in a different room with more closet space. And every room has contact information available so that in case something is...More

Stayed one night en route to other Vermont destinations for the fall colors. Paid $200/night, but it was color season. Would have given excellent rating if price was more in line with lodging quality. Room had comfy bed, nice shower. Old house, but fixed nice....More

Very disappointed in our experience. Stayed in Tapestry Room, which was $185. Was foliage season so price didn’t seem excessive except for the quality. Room was well decorated but extremely dark. Was not enough light for me to even read a book in the daytime....More

Sorry your stay wasn’t as good as you hoped. First, I’m not sure of the total costs incurred by you, but we certainly did not charge $185. Of course when you go through one of the big reservation services, instead of dealing with the property...More

I have been coming to Bennington for business for over 10 years and have sampled many of the lodging options. This inn is personable, cozy, and for me, convenient. I like being able to work into town, rather than get in my car for a...More
