We recently revisited the delightful Inn at Essex - this time in the winter, and were very pleased. The staff were cordial and accommodating, the fireplace room accommodations were warm and welcoming and the cuisine was very good. The wait staff in both The Tavern and Amuse were friendly, efficient and professional. Considering it was during the holiday season and...

Dear HappyCamper155004, Thank you for staying with us again and for taking the time to share your experiences. The entire holiday season can be challenging and New Year's Eve can be especially so. Our Restaurant General Manager, Mary Ingrisano has done a great job training, supporting and preparing her team. Your praise and recognition of their efforts is much appreciated....

My husband and I stayed at the Essex for two nights, including New Year's eve. The location of the resort is great, close to Burlington and Stowe. The oulet mall and the supermarket is close by. Our room was very confortable and clean. The staff is friendy and the food at the restaurants is great.

Dear Maria-Cécilia G, The Essex Resort & Spa is situated perfectly. Close enough to Burlington to visit but out of the bustling city noise. We are within minutes of the Essex outlets and cinema with walking trails at our front door. We do have the best of both worlds. Thank you for your support and for sharing your experiences. Naz...

I was here for a national conference in October. The setting is fabulous, the food good. Conference food tends to be only so-so and this one was no different, (although great desserts!) I only ate in the restaurant once and it was quite good. This was a several-day meeting, so I didn't get to try any of the spa offerings....

Dear TravelerNorfolk, Thank you for choosing to stay with us while attending your conference. The culinary team loves to hear when guests enjoy the food they prepare but also appreciate critiques as a way to constantly improve their presentations and services. Executive Chef, Shawn Calley has recently made some changes to the Banquet team that should provide greater control of...

We returned in January 2014 for our second annual overnight getaway, and had another wonderful experience. Our room was clean, quiet, and cozy, the staff was friendly, and the food was fantastic. We loved the outdoor hot tub, which was deserted on a Sunday morning -- the only downside was having to walk outside in freezing temperatures to get from...

Dear Momoftwo06, What an incredible compliment that you have made the Essex Resort & Spa your annual getaway. The hot tub is heated to a toasty 104 degrees year round, in fact the area surrounding the outdoor hot tub has in ground radiant heating to ensure no slips. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be part of your...

My mother & I stayed at the Essex for 2 nights for a weekend getaway in January. The area is great - close to Burlington & Stowe, both with lots to do. The temps were in the negatives during more of our stay, so we didn't do any outdoor activities. The staff at the spa was very friendly. It would...

Stayed here with the family over New Years which appears to be off-season for this establishment. Nevertheless, the resort was charming, the staff helpful and overall had a very nice time despite frigid temperatures outside. Two best things: the room was SPOTLESS and the hot apple cider and fresh cookies in the afternoon were delicious (although the cookies ran out...
