We wanted to see and dance to the Arthur James band that was playing there on a Friday night so we decided to go up earlier to hike around the Lake. The hike was great (fallen dried leaves and pine needles made the hike tricky at steep points on the trail) with trails (sort of) maintained by several entities. Glen...

Yes, I would imagine with the vast amounts of rain this early summer season the hiking trails would be slippery. Eagles bluff is a particularly spectacular view nestled on the ledge overlooking the lake. Years ago I would slide down the chutes from this precipice- thrilling but not very bright. Sadly is right; we had an extensive discussion regarding this...

I stayed here with my fiancé, his sister, his cousin, and my cousin for four nights last week. We range in age from 18-22, and all had a great time. We stayed in a terrace room which had two queen beds and a pullout queen couch. The room itself was lovely, with a spacious bathroom and a balcony overlooking the...

Though most of our rooms do not have refrigerators, please know we have a limited supply of these units that can be placed in guest rooms. Aside from the bartender (to which I will address) I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again, Mark Avery

We've had this place on our "list" for a few years. We live in Georgia, so it took some planning. This was our first trip to Vermont. Very memorable. The setting is really beautiful / peaceful. They do a really nice job keeping you busy through the day. It's similar to a cruise... on a smaller scale... crafts, story time,...

I am pleased you made your first excursion to Vermont and we were able to initiate your Vermont experience. Thank you for the tip regarding the dining service for it will be addressed. Of course I'm curious how you heard about Lake Morey all the way from the peach state, but am grateful for your positive comments. Mark Avery

My parents and I visited the lake morey resort and were very pleased with our stay. Our rooms were very large and the beds were incredibly comfortable. All of the staff was friendly and welcoming. We were only there one night but enjoyed our time and plan on coming back with the rest of the family and stay in one...

You are very welcome. The new buildings (Denslow Cottages) book up quickly during the summer months of July/August. These months require a 7 day stay (Sat-Sat) The remaining 10 months of the year are simply two night minimums. We are in the process of updating its website which will be complete with comprehensive pictures. Thank you, Mark Avery

spent a weekend here in May, big mistake. gorgeous view of lake morey and you do get free use of canoes and kayaks, however, that's where the fun stops...we had lake front room, there was a crying baby below us whose father tried unsuccessfully to sing him/her to sleep...Saturday afternoon a gathering of people with men in kilts appeared on...

Dear Fast and Firm, Residing a matter of feet from a lake creates and ideal environment for associated insects. We regularly address the spiders which appear nightly to do their instinctual work. I refuse to put a permanent insecticide on these balconies as they are known to "cause cancer in the state of California". Housekeeping always tries to be vigilant...

Great place to go with the family for some good clean fun. Golfing, biking, boating on a pristine lake. Our kids in their 20's were like teenagers again. Views are to die for. Dartmouth College just a few minutes away! Well the food selections are somewhat limited, and the ambience with the dining room overlooking the lake is spectacular. Nice...

Ill just stick to the facts... Came here as a speaker for a conference and arrived a day early as I was driving from a couple states away. When I arrived I asked if there was a conference schedule since I wasn't quite sure where I was supposed to go. I was told "no." Rooms are definitely old. Finding anything...

Typically we simply provide the meeting space for conferences. We are unaware of the specifics of a particular conference unless the organizer provides us with the information. We were not provided this for this conference. Hence we could only direct you to their reserved time and location of meeting without the particulars. Property information is included in each in-room directory...

This hotel is located in a magnificent area of Vermont facing Morey Lake. It is a beautiful location. The hotel itself is pretty dated and needs some remodeling. The rooms could use some redoing also. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Thank you for taking your time to share your thoughts. With the hotel being built in 1905, there will always be a sense of going back in time. I have shared this many times in previous postings. We cherish our heritage and do not strive to be a modern hotel. We systematically remodel sections of the hotel each off-season as...

April is a pretty quiet month, in fact throughout Vermont April's mud season acts as a very efficient repellant to all tourist activity. Fortunately May is here and the flowers, grass, leaves, and warming sun has given us quite the foreshadowing of summer- a welcome sight to all the senses. Our resident Bald Eagles spend their time on Lake Morey...
