I took my boyfriend and his little brother skiing for the New Year. I did my shopping around and since I do not like to rely on pictures I call every location that seemed to be reasonable. I picked Magic motel based not only on price but the attitude of the people who answer the phone. When we arrived my man’s little brother realized he forgot his ski pants. We asked the landlord about where we can get any ski pants. Without a hesitation she offered us her sons own pants since there was no sense to buy new ones for 2 days. She also insisted that she will wash them first. The motel rooms were very cozy and clean with only 2 miles distance to the local Magic resort. They also advised us to go to the Magic Mountain since my man never skied. Since this is the resort mostly for the locals it has reasonable price, it’s less crowded, and is safer regarding teaching someone how to ski. Overall we were tremendously pleased with all the genuine welcoming approach we got from the Magic-family owned business. We will never forget these warm, good hearted, and hardworking people and can’t wait to come back again. Thank you!

I spent one night at the magic view motel with 3 friends (all mid-20s) on January 9th. We were looking for a cheap place to stay, and were very happy. This motel is less expensive than others in the area, which means that the room was a bit small, there was a shower but no bath, and the tv was small and only had 13 channels. However, it was clean, warm, and comfortable. There is a game room in the basement with a bench to tune skis on, a pool table, ping pong table (net was damaged), board games and a couch where we spent an enjoyable hour. During ski season, a simple yet delicious breakfast is included. It is cooked to order, as the motel is too small to have a buffet. We paid $107 for a room with a double bed and a bunk bed (two twins) for a cost of $28 per person. Stratton mountain is 20 minutes away. There are a few restaurants 2 miles away in Londonderry. We were able to connect to high speed internet, but I'm not sure where the signal came from.

We had such a positive experience at this sweet motel that we have already booked a return trip. The room was clean and comfortable (bathroom recently updated). The owner is wonderful...could not have been more accommodating. We were driving up from Southern Connecticut and got stuck in traffic. Despite an after midnight arrival, the owner was up waiting for us and had already turned the heat on in our room in anticipation of our arrival (February in Vermont....-3 degrees F).

Arrived at the Magic View for one night's stay during fall foliage season in Vermont and was hopeful based on the motel's Web site. Room was not large but cozy with wood paneling and access to a deck with views of Magic Mountain. I could have looked past the out-dated room decor (70s wallpaper in the bathroom) if the room was cleaner but I found hair on one of our pillows and the towels they gave us. They also forgot our bath towels and when they gave us some they were so small they were almost like hand towels. The bed was the worst feature of the room, however. We had our worst night's sleep ever on it - a firm mattress is nice but this was way beyond firm! We were also supposed to get breakfast in the morning for staying during peak season but they changed their tune and said it was not offered then despite what it said on their Web site. We won't be back.

I have stayed at this place few times over this past winter when i went skiing in VT. It is only 4.5 hrs away from NYC. Good location right off the road. Easy access, great owner. Nice clean rooms. Great prices especially if you are looking to for weekend skiing. Its is not a 5 star hotel, so please don't be misleaded. Yet, it is definately a 5 star motel.

Owner Barbara is nice and charming and will work with you to accomodate your needs. I will definately go back there again. Can't wait till next skiing season!!!!!!!!!

The opportunity for a late January ski trip in Vermont came up very quickly. Having made the decision to go, our top priority was phoning the Magic View Motel to make a reservation. We were delighted when Barbara, the friendly owner, was able to give us our favorite room. Being long-time guests has its benefits! Always the conscientious hostess, she inquired about our special breakfast preferences (skim milk and English muffins) and assured us that they would be provided. She also asked us what time we would like to come to breakfast. Barbara goes all out in taking care of her guests' needs.

Less than 24 hours after our phone call, we arrived at Magic View where we were warmly greeted by Barbara. Before settling in, we spent a few minutes catching up on each other's news of the past year. Upon entering our room, we noted that several upgraded amenities had been added since our last visit (new mattresses and quilted bed spreads and a bathroom renovation). The convenience of free in-room Wi-Fi and DirecTV enhanced our stay. As always, we enjoyed quiet nights of sleep followed by a delicious breakfast and Barbara's heartiest wishes for a "good day on the slopes".

The proximity of four popular ski resorts and fine dining plus Barbara's outstanding hospitality are the reasons we keep "coming home again to our favorite Magic View".

We stayed in the Deluxe Suite for 5 at the Magic View Motel over Christmas break for a ski holiday at Stratton Mountain. The hotel location is perfect with very short drive to several ski areas. A light continental breakfast with fruits, several carb options, coffee and juice was served early each day and was perfect for our family. There is a Queen, a Twin and Twin Bunk bed in the deluxe suite. The beds are firm and well placed in the room, with plenty of blankets but need more pillows. Overall we enjoyed our stay I'm giving 3 stars because the room was musty (possibly used to be a smoking room or mildew although none was visible). You get what you pay for and this hotel was a great deal for us as we spent most of our day on the slopes and had an air freshener in the car that we moved to the room.

6 of us stayed here for 1 night on our way to Quebec City. It was over the July 4th weekend and unlike many other places, didn't require a 2 night minimum stay. We left shortly after 9 A.M. and once in Quebec City, 1 of the wives realized she had left her diamond and wedding band on the night stand at Magic View. Her husband called Barbara and was told right away that yes indeed she had found the rings and had tried to catch us before we left Vermont. But the number she had was my office number. She offered to ship it but we decided to pick them up on our return home. Once in my office, true to her word, she had called and left a message at 9:54 A.M.. Almost immediately after we had left! We are so grateful for her honesty.
During our stay, she went out of her way to accommodate my handicapped husband. The rooms are dated but clean.

As longtime guests, we always look forward to our annual January stay at the Magic View Motel. A warm welcome from Barbara sets the up-beat tone for our ski vacation. We settle in to our favorite room, delighted with the amenities of a ski rack, a refrigerator and DirecTV (100's of channels!). Our ski days begin with a hearty expanded Continental breakfast featuring multiple varieties of cereal, fresh fruit, English muffins, bagels, pastries, oatmeal, hot chocolate, to name a few selections. We always sleep well in our quiet room. Magic View is conveniently located near Magic Mountain & Bromley, and half way between Stratton and Okemo--all great ski areas. Fine restaurants can be found as close as 1 mile away or situated along Route 11 (an easy drive). Favorites include The Swiss Inn & Restaurant, Johnny SeeSaws, The New American Grill and Jake's Restaurant and Tavern. Barbara's charming hospitality and excellent maintenance of her motel are the prime reasons why we look forward to "coming home to Magic View".
