Clean, warm, cozy comfortable inn in truly authentic Vermont country charm. Our hosts/the inn keepers"Neil & Cindy" were warm, friendly, kind & generous folks. They made my sweethearts 53rd B-day wk-end very special. The inn & various building have been meticulously upgraded & restored, leaving the character of a country inn with all the usual conveniences we've been accustomed to. We stayed in a larger... More

The Barnstead Inn is conveniently located close to town, restaurants, and the shopping outlets. However, it is located on a quiet side road that allows rest and peace. The room and amenities were a little outdated but provided the comfortable stay we needed. The manager was welcoming and accommodating. Knowing a wedding party was staying when we were staying, he... We stayed in the Chittenden room. The room was much smaller than what was pictured on the Internet. The room was very clean, and had a comfortable bed. It had some nice decorating touches like bear finales on lamp, and post and beam wood work throughout the inn. You could hear the people up above, but it didn't bother us.... More

Our original Inn in Manchester had been wrongly booked by our trip planner and was full. Luckily the inn keeper at the other inn found this for us and it was just perfect. The Inn doesn't offer breakfast but breakfast can be found near by. Thanks for being so accommodating at very short notice. Great rooms and a very comfortable... More

We had a wonderful stay at The Barnstead. Neil and Cindy were fantastic hosts! The inn is walking distance to town, shops and restaurants. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom could use an update, but was spotless. We would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at The Barnstead Inn 2 years in a row and are already planning for our third this winter. Neil and Cindy are wonderful hosts, the rooms are lovely and the property is a beautiful oasis with easy travel by foot into the heart of Manchester Center. In the summer months a daytime swim in the pool and... More

Stayed at Barnstead for a recent wedding. Prices were very affordable and the owner personally upgraded us to a nicer room! Room was clean, charming, and the bed was very comfortable. Owner was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and beyond friendly. It was a real pleasure to stay here and I would highly recommend it!

Spent the weekend here for a wedding in the area. Staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Very affordable for September in Manchester. The inn is clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the rooms are in desperate need of a makeover. The bathroom is extremely small and very old. The curtains are from 1970 rustic. I think this place could... More

Thank you! The Inn is an 1830s restored Vermont farm property with all of the modern conveniences. The keywords are "1830s restored farm". It is meant to "look" old. As in Antiques. Of course, some of the baths are small. But,there are rooms with extremely large baths that include Jacuzzi tubs. While I do understand that these may not have... More

Neil and Cynthia were the most accommodating hosts we could ask for. Not only did they upgrade our room but they also (happily) let us extend our check out time the last day. Our room was fantastic; cozy, charming and clean and the rest of the buildings/facilities looked as equally well maintained. The inn was within walking distance to shops,... More
