It's a long drive up north for we that work in the Southern part of the state, so if we can combine meetings at the capitol, we stay at the Cap.Plaza..NICE people, clean rooms, everything you need!!!!

We stayed here the night before an Open House at Norwich University. We arrived about 9 pm on a Friday night with sleet and snow on the ground and were greeted with a friendly front desk. The smell from the Steakhouse in the lobby was amazing. Unfortunately we didn't not have time to eat there. My 17 year old ordered...

Dear Jcb264, What an exciting time for you and your son! Norwich is a wonderful university. We are glad you enjoyed your stay after enduring a difficult snowy drive. Too bad your son didn't visit campus during the unseasonably, warm days of February. Our owner is a proud Alumnus of Norwich and we enjoy hosting the many Norwich families during...

We recently attended the Green Mountain Film Festival in Montpelier and booked a room at the Capitol Plaza for the night. It's an older hotel, but it has been meticulously maintained and renovated. Rooms are no frills, but the small details were very welcome. Room was clean, and the beds were comfortable (especially loved the pillows). Here are some of...

This hotel seems like it had just gotten a make over , every thing seemed new. We liked our room and the staff seemed really nice but only stayed one night . I would stay here again if ever in the area it's easy to get to and is a nice central location for downtown with plenty of free parking.

Montpelier is small so there's just not anything spectacular when it coming to near by hotels. this will be the best you find. rooms aren't the super, kinda small, and things are somewhat dated. but at least there's room service and the restaurant is the best part. J Morgan's is awesome! small conference rooms that are to close to the...

The only real hotel in town. Very nice staff, very friendly and helpful. We had a queen-bed room facing the street. Nice view of streetscape. Relatively quiet too. Room not small but not large either. Nice bath. Very clean. Four windows looking out. Bed was not soft, but not too hard either. No closet. Had a bureau with a short...

I stay here multiple times a year for work. It's a nice break from the chain hotels I find myself in most of the time. The rooms are nothing great, but they serve they're purpose. Location can't be beat. Steakhouse is a huge bonus. Chocolates and ample K-cups are a nice touch.

A friend and I stayed at the Capital Plaza a few days last month and we really enjoyed the hotel and the quaintness of Montpelier. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the staff were extremely helpful (including housekeeping) especially Valerie at the front desk when we arrived. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the hotel is delightful. The only...

What a wonderful place to stay in Vermont. From walking in the front door to the restaurant to the meeting facilities, all was friendly, clean, helpful, wonderful, and full of character. I love the older building the what they have done with it. The rooms are inviting and comfortable. But the best part of my stay was the staff!! From...

Bad weather forced us to stop and stay with you on Friday night on our way up from Boston to Essex, VT. We just wanted to tell you how terrific and welcoming the experience was. It was late in the evening and the woman at the desk had everything ready when we arrived for a quick check in. This was...
