The host is great, I have to agree. The inn is outdated, looks like it is frozen on the 50's. Kitchen is not the cleanest I have seen and I have to disagree about so many comments about how great the breakfast is: to me it is really average. The bedroom and bathroom are really small but clean. It's not...

From the moment we arrived at The Gables Inn and were greeted by Randy, we were made to feel like more than just guests. We arrived quite late but were still greeted with a warm smile and an abundant knowledge of where we could still get food if we were hungry. We were very kindly upgraded to a bigger room...

The previous reviews mentioned that the inn is a bit dated. They are correct but you need to balance that off with a great inn keeper, great location and an awesome breakfast. Randy the inn keeper is a great guy and could not do enough for us. The hotel is directly across the road from the Stowe recreational trail. Great...

Wow! This room had filthy carpet. The bedspread, flower wreath and picture hanging on the wall looked like they were from the 80's. None of the towels, bathmat, or shower curtain in the bathroom matched. They were all old as well. My husband, who is 6 ft. could hardly fit into the shower and turn around. The post know kept...

The inn is a great place to stay: great breakfast, very friendly owner, comfortable mattresses and relaxing hot tub after long and cold day of skiing, good location in Stowe.. Definitely recommend to stay here!

The room was small, but the ambiance of an old inn in Vermont meant it didn't matter a bit. Randy was friendly, helped lug luggage upstairs and sent us to a fantastic pizza place nearby for wonderful dinner. But breakfast sent this stay over the top. So many choices, not just humdrum. Good job, Randy!

This inn is a lovely old place and close to wherever we wanted to go. Randy, the owner, was very friendly and directed us to restaurants and fun places to see. Our room was bright and clean. The breakfast was fantastic!

Imagine waking up, after an excellent night's sleep, in an area where the autumn (fall) leaves are all around you changing colours, knowing that you have the difficult choice from over twenty options, for a beautifully cooked large breakfast. And if you choose the suite with a hot tub/jacuzzi - well lucky you again. There was the odd light bulb...

Stayed here several times, although years have passed since my last trip to Stowe. Disappointed, inn does not seem to be kept up; needs repairs, painting, rooms spruced up. Wrote my name in the dust on the dresser and shower could use a good scrubbing too. Beds and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. STOWE has become a very congested area---hard...
