The owners were very outgoing and helpful. That's pretty much the best part of the place (and the price). The term "you get what you pay for" definitely applies. A little shabby around the edges, probably built in the 1950s, not much updating since. Good potential for the future, but not much for now. Beds too firm, shower hard to adjust, not good for allergy prone individuals, definitely had me feeling pretty miserable. Didn't try the breakfast, sorry, can't comment.

This review is specifically about staying in room 109 - 1 queen bed room. Room is really bare - no table, one chair, no place to hang things - not even a hook on the back of the door. I drove from NYC after work and found now place to hang my jacket. I had to leave most of my stuff in the suitecase. TV has only air channels (no cable) - which wasn't a big problem for me. No electric outlets - well there was one - next to outlet TV was plugged in - but I had to move really heavy TV stand to reach it. It was Ok for my cell phone, but I couldn't plug my notebook in. Living in room 109 was like living in the basement - there was only one small window - and the only thing visible from it was car bumper - right at the eye level. During my 4 night stay I didn't get any room service - even after hanging "service, please" on the door handle. Bathroom was really big - but terribly planned - there was not enough place to put toothbrush, soap, etc. I was wondering why part of the space wasn't used for closet or something. Breakfast was terrible - "fresh fruit" was at least a week old and smelled.

10 of us stayed at this resort/hotel/motel for 2 nights just before the New Year. The reason we picked this property simply because it didn't have the ridiculous minimum stay requirement as the majority of the hotels in the area during the holiday weekends. Also, we did not want to spend an arm and a leg for an hotel room that we would only use for sleeping. We originally booked two 2-bedroom suites (no kitchenette), and one regular hotel room for the 10 of us. Two days before the trip, we were notified that a travel agency overbooked the hotel and we would only be able to have one 2-bedroom suites and for the other suite that we had lost, they would give us two regular rooms with no extra charge. That worked out fine with us. The 2-bedroom suite was on the second floor. Decent size but only one of the rooms had tv and there was no refrigerator. Bathroom was kind of small. The suite was relatively clean and you could tell that the walls had been painted recently. The only problems that we had were flies in the room (we killed about 4 or 5 of them) and there was a strong smell of cleaning products. Our three other "hotel" rooms were all on the first floor. All of them were very small, but at least one of them had a fridge in it. One of the rooms had lady bugs problem. The breakfast was so-so. There were crumb cakes, muffins, yogurts, mixed fruits, coffee, and orange juice. We only had breakfast there once and we went to the Colonial Cafe in the Golden Eagle Resort the other morning (very nice breakfast over there and it costs about $10 per person). Overall I'm pretty happy with this hotel. Probably it'll be nicer during summer time since it has a golf course and swimming pool. We paid about $80 per person after tax for two nights. Good value!

We spent 2 nights in the beginning of March 2007 at the Farm Resort. We were looking for a place close to the ski area without paying 150+ $ a night. Nearly impossible in and around Stowe. We found the resort online and called last minute. Mike, the manager was very nice at the phone. Always a good sign! We got a queen bed room on the first floor. If you are someone who likes to sleep in, ask for a room at the second floor. The walls are very thin and you hear every step above you. Even though the room was not modern, it was very clean and recently painted. Breakfast is fresh and good and is served in a room with a fireplace. We liked the yogurt and the bagels. Mike is around for breakfast and has a little chat with you if you feel like it. He gave us a good tip for an alternative route into Stowe and we drove through a Winter Wonderland. All together it is a nice alternative to the overpriced Hotels and B&B's in the area if you are just looking for a place to stay and to enjoy the countryside. I would not call it a resort, more a motel in a nice setting. The Stowe Ski Resort is about a 15 min drive away.
