We were looking for a warm place to spend a cold February night between CT and Bretton Woods, NH. We chose the Whipple-Tree B&B for its location and photo, but were a little worried as there were no reviews. What a surprise to find this spectacularly located, spacious and charming B&B. Mr and Mrs. Bailey were very warm and welcoming without being at all intrusive, the house and the room were lovely with spectacular views over to the White mountains in New Hampshire, and the breakfast was perfect: a fresh fruit plate, followed by waffles with real Maple syrup, [with an offer of seconds, but we were all too full.]
We stayed in the room called "Abigail's Whisper" which was exactly as described on their website, large and comfy with spectacular views. If I had to find one thing to complain about, it would be the extra firm mattress in this room. I like firm, but this matress was even a bit much for me. You could probably ask for a room with a softer matress. However, I loved our room so much, that I plan to bring a matress pad with me next time. In any case, I would not let that small detail deter you from staying at such a wonderful B&B.
We hope to return to the Whipple-Tree in the fall for a longer stay, so we can check out some of the trails throught the 500 acres which suround it. Lisa and Peter Jones, CT
