The White House Inn charms with its enchanting atmosphere and scenic mountain views that many guests adore. While the service is often applauded for staff attentiveness, some visitors have felt that the value doesn't match the price, noting the need for comfier beds and improved food quality.
Cleanliness is a strong suit, with travelers impressed by the luxurious bathroom tiles and pristine common areas. Despite the praise for certain amenities and the inn's character, there are calls for room updates and the addition of modern conveniences like new mini-fridges.

Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our one night stay at the White House Inn. Friendly desk clerk. The inn is quite old but rooms are updated. Our room was quite large with a high, very comfortable King bed. they have added adapters so there is plenty of extra plugs. The bathroom was small but large river rock bottom shower which felt good under the feet. Nice toiletries provided, great towels. It was extremely quite and we even slept with the window partially open. Woke up to a lovely continental breakfast in the delightful green room. Nice choice of bagels or English muffins, fruit choices, instant oatmeal and some cold cereals, sweet bread, boiled eggs and yogurt. Orange juice, coffee tea and hot chocolate.
The view on the hill overlooking the town was beautiful. There is a restaurant on site but not open the first part of the week. I don’t know if it is all the time however, many restaurants in town don’t open until either Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Cannot say enough great things about the White House Inn.
My friends and I recently stayed here - we got two rooms for 5-7 of us. Management was incredibly responsive and helpful both before and during our stay. The rooms are very spacious and were very clean upon our arrival. There was a small issue with heat in one of our rooms that was quickly remedied when we brought it up to the house manager. The downstairs area is beautiful and offers plenty of space to eat, drink, and relax. The beds are also incredibly comfortable - something I don’t usually notice about hotels/inns but everyone in my group was commenting on how comfortable each bed was.
Overall, the White House Inn offered the perfect lodging at a great value for my group for our ski trip. Close drive to Mt Snow, cozy place for us to decompress after a long day of skiing, drinks downstairs, and a staff that was very helpful, accommodating and responsive. Will absolutely stay here again.

Friendly knowledgeable staff from my arrival to departure. My room was comfortable and the bathroom shower was most impressive. All of the White House Inn had something to see and explore. The grounds are well groomed with ample areas to sit and relax with coffee in the morning and a beverage later on from the tavern. The views set the tone for peace and relaxation for which I was seeking. What I liked best about my stay is that I could be myself and felt at home. Thank you to Matt GM and all staff for a wonderful Holiday Retreat!

I booked two nights at this inn and then received an email two days before our trip that they would need to remove one of our nights. Evidently the couple who booked the room for their upcoming wedding wanted to come in a day early and the inn decided they should have the room. This was our first stay at an inn such as this, so I do not know if this is standard procedure. I was not happy, but it ended up a better deal because we stayed the night in a quaint inn just down the road in New Hampshire. Our welcome at the White House Inn was less than cordial, but our breakfast experience was fabulous.

We had a wonderful stay at the Whitehouse. We were there with other family members and the staff did a great job accomodating our needs both individually and as a group. We always felt VERY welcome when interacting with them as they always seemed truely interested in making our stay as nice as posdible. We will definitely be back.

The views from the rooms and the dining area are wonderful. Sunsets can’t be beat.
The staff is totally devoted to the guests, and eager to help in every way.
The food is good enough for real foodies, and the bartender is very knowledgeable.
The attitude of all employees is hard to describe, but we’ve never had better uniform positive attitude.
This is also very close to the “center” of the tiny town of Wilmington, and only a few hundred yards down the hill to pharmacy and grocery store. Feels very private and exclusive, but the building feels open.

Our stay at the White House Inn was very enjoyable. It is a big old Inn with so much character. The view alone was worth it but we had a comfortable bed, hot shower and plush towels. The breakfast was perfect; we ate in a pretty dining room with a fireplace going and fresh delicious food. Tara was wonderful and made me a hot pot of decaf coffee, and she made our check in and check out experience easy. We did not eat in the restaurant but it was lovely and had a bar to sit at for drinks. We loved exploring the different rooms in the Inn and will most definitely go back in Spring or Summer when we can use one of the balconies to sit outside!

This inn was one of the best stays we’ve ever had. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful, Georgia was so nice! The room was very clean and had an amazing view of the mountains, bed extremely comfortable, big shower. Every single meal we ate was delicious! The chef went above and beyond, gave us a free breakfast on the next day (Monday) because we loved the lump crab cake eggs benedict so much, he had one left and it was only served for brunch on Sundays, so he was nice enough to go out of his way to make that for us the next morning. Mike the bartender was awesome, Ira and Paula in the restaurant were also great and so friendly! The fire place is beautiful and was very relaxing to sit by and have a drink. We will be staying here again, the workers definitely made this stay even more enjoyable for us!

I’m honestly sorry I’m writing this.
We love Wilmington and all of its surroundings.
We’ve passed the hotel dozens of times and we were looking forward to our visit.
It did not meet our expectations.
There is no room refresh if you stay more than one night - the trash piles up, no new towels or toiletries, no water etc etc.
The bathroom sink was in the bedroom lol!
It’s not funny, but there it was. Great when one person is still sleeping etc etc
No closet . Sketchy electrical outlets and the TV was mounted so far back on the dresser in front of the bed that you had to stand up to use the remote.
Definitely not a return trip.

I really wanted to love my stay. I splurged for the junior suite in order to see the beautiful view and it was beautiful. And the bed was very comfortable. But not worth $465 (room plus taxes and fees). There is a lot of road noise if you are outside. You do not hear it too much inside but it is replaced with lots of noise from the kitchen and patrons at the restaurant below until it closes at 10pm. The lights from the outdoors are quite bright and one window had a cheap shade that did not reach the bottom of the window frame. After a shorter night sleep than preferred, I looked forward to a nice shower with the higher end toiletries provided. Unfortunately there is no water pressure in the room and only a few measly trickles of water came out of the Kohler water fixtures. It was not enough to rinse the soap from my hair. The continental breakfast was adequate and unremarkable. I never saw a front desk person the entire time but did appreciate a staff person giving me my key and helping me to my room. It was very odd that I get text and emails after I arrived inviting me to make arrangements for a late check in. In summary, I have known this place my entire life and stayed in the past with previous owners. I really want them to succeed but think it outrageous to charge as much as they do for what they provide.

My wife and I enjoyed it.
Not that I could see. It is a very small town, too.
