Detailed Reviews
Room size was good, beds and bedding comfortable. Old brown worn carpeting in bathroom should be removed and bathrooms tiled. Motel needs renovations. Could be a much more pleasant experience if owner would put outdoor patio and seating by river directly behind motel. River is lovely but the motel ignores it instead they place outdoor seating in front of motel and close to the road. Poor business plan not to advertise and utilize the beautiful river running on the property.

This is one of the most reasonably priced hotels in the area (to be honest, I’m not sure why hotels are so expensive in this region). It is an old road side motel and will take you back to a different time. The people at the desk were nice enough. The decor and furnishings are 1990 vintage, but there was a flatscreen tv and a mini fridge. The bed was fine. My two main gripes were 1. The safety lock (I don’t know what you call it… the thing that replaced the old chain locks) was broken. It wasn’t a very threatening area, but… I just prefer having the extra lock. I used the old lodge a chair under the door handle thing which was fine, but that should really be replaced. My only other gripe was that the nitwit couple in the room above me walked around and talked until about 2 in the morning. That floor is thin and I could hear every step and every syllable. I use a white noise app, but even that wasn’t enough.

Stayed here for one night. I would say the decor is quaint. But I really liked it. It was very quiet even though it was on the main road. It was a bit chilly in the room and it seems as the temperature is controlled by someone in the main office. I always travel with my own blanket so it was no problem. Tiny bathroom. There is no breakfast or free coffee but Dot’s restaurant right down the street & they have the best blueberry muffins you’ll ever eat.

The husband and wife team made a total mess out of my booking, charging me for a day I cancelled more than a week previously and then selling my room on the night I was relying on it. Then they shouted at me on the phone - couldn’t have been ruder even though I had nowhere to stay. Like the Twilight Zone..

Honeslty, this motel needs to have a total remodel and cleaning before I would consider staying here again. The innkeeper was not welcoming, and the office and signage was dingy and had hand printed signs warning guests how much the fines would be for smoking in rooms. Ironically, we appeared to be the only guests staying on a weeknight who were NOT heavy smokers. there are chairs outside each room with ash trays and even before we had finished bringing in our luggage one of our neighbors was outside their room smoking and the smoke wafted into our room immediately. The decor is circa 1955, not 1990 , as another review stated. Carpets, bedspreads and bath fixtures were all very worn and tired. Would not use shower as it was not clean enough. Overall, room was very dark, and one bedside lamp did not work. Innkeeper stated remodels were underway on second floor, but on the first floor, things were old and in disrepair. The decking in front of the first floor rooms was very irregular and a tripping hazard. Depending on your schedule and budget, consider another inn nearby.

I wish we hadn’t stayed here. Everything smells bad. The front office, entering our motel room, but the worst was the bathroom. Years of pee soaked into the carpet made me want to run. Hold your nose, don’t go in there barefoot. Even after getting out of the very old, very stained bathtub.
I have a feeling the elderly owners are just biding their time until they sell or close this motel. I can’t see anyone buying it. It would take a small fortune to bring it up to even basic standards.
I’ve stayed in quaint, older motels. Never anything as bad as this.

Comfortable bed. Unfortunately that is the only thing positive I can say. Air conditioner was circa 1970, took three hours to cool the room down. Shower didn’t work. Wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me to. Also had seven people in the room next to us…..not sure what was going on there….lol

The rooms are clean and warm, beds comfortable. Nice mini fridge in the room kept everything cold; flatscreen tv works fine, plenty of channels. The decor is dated; slight mustiness but all in all a very convenient and friendly place to stay, close to mount Snow. We came to ski and snowboard. No breakfast, but we brought food.. The gas station convenience store across the street has fresh sandwiches also.

We were staying for two nights and read the reviews however didn't expect the room to be so um..I can't even explain it. it is outdated which is fine, but the carpet is way dirty in the room. There was carpet in the BATHROOM which is the most awful thing I have seen in a motel/hotel room. I understand they are affordable but that is just gross. It should be ripped out and just left to be tile. You can hear people walking outside granted it is wood and an older establishment. The beds and sheets were uncomfortable. We can stay typically anywhere but this place ... it's a no go.
