We arrived on a Saturday evening for a week stay. There is no handicap accessible entrance but there is a "unloading" door at the back of the inn with a tiny elevator you can only get to once you have checked inn. Be prepared to bring your own luggage cart to get items to your room. Elevator is very slow. The room was dated but comfortable, the bathroom was very tiny but did have a shower. We had a one bedroom unit with split unit a/c and heat in the bedroom and main room. There was cable tv but only tv was in the main room. You could put dirty towels out in the hallway for pick up on Wednesday for free but sheets cost $15 to exchange. If you forgot your key in your room and had to call the front desk after hours, that cost $65. Our room had very dim lighting except for the lights over the dining room table, not really comfortable for reading. Our unit looked out on the the indoor pool and smelled like chlorine. There was a coffee maker, filters but no coffee or tea, that was in the common area. We didn't hear people in the rooms next to us but you people stomping on the floor above our room. The grounds were lovely, very relaxing to sit outside and watch the little stream go by. The porch was also nice with lots of rocking chairs to watch traffic go by. We may go back again but now we know what to expect.

The town is very cute, but is small so there's not much to see/do after a couple of days other than ski during the winter. The Inn is historic and has a good location on the main street, but the units are very barebones, rustic, and small. There is a hot tub that was nice and clean (jets were broken), pool, and sauna, which are very nice features. The heat in the unit didn't seem to respond to the thermostats--it's either on and blasting hot, or off, so the windows had to be opened a bit as we were super hot the first night and barely slept, even with them set to 50 degrees. There is only one very old, creaky elevator that takes almost 5 minutes to get up 3 levels and requires a key. The sleeper sofa is rock hard to sit on, no dresser in the bedroom, the only TV was very very small in the living room, and the only bathroom was off the kitchen, so it was a bit inconvenient showering/dressing and walking through the whole unit. For a night or two it was fine or if you just need a place to sleep near the ski resort and aren't picky, it could suffice. But if you're planning to spend a bit of time at the Inn, the units themselves may not be as comfortable as home or a higher quality hotel. In our case, we had one skier and one non-skier, so we would have preferred something with more comfort, view and ambience.

I'm coming down right in the middle of these reviews --and I normally love staying at historic inns. I'll start with the big plus: location. It is centrally located in a charming town, and is a historic building itself. We were able to walk to restaurants and bars, bookstores and a few shops. The downside is that this unit itself, while it has a full kitchen is dated, and does not include basics. And I mean basics: no shampoo (unless you want to use soap), no coffee filters for the coffeemaker (let alone a night or two's complimentary coffee), no shampoo or conditioner and no blowdryer, not even a rack to dry dishes. We stayed on a timeshare trade, and while given a disclaimer in advance that it may not live up to Diamond property standards, it certainly did. The room and inn is also a curious mix of nice and needs updating. Our bed was new and comfortable. The couch in the living room quite uncomfortable as it sank in all the wrong places. The most discouraging part of this inn came in the form of all the "love notes," which we saw when we first came in: don't do this, or there is a fine, don't do this or there is a fine, if you lock your key in the room and someone needs to come back it's $60, don't check out late or else ... you get the picture. I would consider myself a somewhat demanding but also able to roll with things traveller, and many of these things could be easily fixed with a few very simple additions to the room and a change in attitude. While I anticipate a good week ahead, and love the location, I am disappointed in the other things I mentioned.

We stayed at the Crafts Inn for a week and had a wonderful experience. The Inn is old, well kept and quiet so we were able to relax on the large covered porch during a late summer rain. The small town is quaint and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and trails all within easy walking distance. The indoor pool and whirlpool were great and there is a small racquetball / pickle ball court indoors on the premises as well. We at a couple places in town and a great meal by candlelight at Folly right down the street. Wilmington was a nice small town to explore and the Craft Inn was a great place to stay.

Crafts Inn in the heart of Wilmington VT provided us with a great place to stay while skiing Mount Snow. We had only a short drive to the slopes while being able to walk the in town and enjoy excellent dinners out, with the option of preparing meals and eating in. The suites were well appointed for cooking, sleeping, and visiting with the other couple we were traveling with. Although a little dated, the facility was very clean, and obviously recently updated. Most importantly, the staff could not have been nicer, dealing immediately with every request or need we had.

When I booked, noticed they don't offer AC rooms I booked for 7 days Saturday to Saturday. I Called to say I need to cancel. They said they can give me AC room. Get there my AC room was right next to the pool , very very strong Chlorine. Ended up having Asthma attack. My husband said he couldn't even stand the smell and he dosnt have lung problems. They moved us to a different room with no AC , they said all AC rooms are by the pool ,We left to a different hotel on Sunday to Wednesday cause it was to hot . Came back Wednesday to Friday cause the weather was a bit cooler, and this hotel was already paid for Saturday to Saturday, but was so unhappy with this place left on Friday.

Keep in mind this is a historic building. So with that said, our expectations were exceeded! Our condo/apartment was VERY clean and spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat there daily. The hot tub and sauna were unexpected and were very welcomed at the end of our days of hiking! The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They were interested in our time there and loved to hear our positive feedback as we took advantage of the location. There is nothing negative we could say.
Granted, we also travel and stay in newer buildings that have all modern everything. But there was just something extra special and charming for us here. It took us back to the "good old days" with the personalized service. We enjoy touring old homes and museums. We try to imagine life "back then." This took us back to our childhood where we could reminise! But the heating and air conditioning were so much better here! LOL Yes, the floor above squeeked. If this is a bothersome matter, ask to be on the top floor! That is usually what we do but we forgot. No one was above us for the majority of our stay. We take our own Firestick so the TV was a bit slow and buffered. But we were there for the daytime activities. A bit of inconvenience while on vacation was OK with us. BUT if it is really important to you, then this may not be for you. We loved and cherished every minute there.

I just loved this place. I felt like I went into a Time Machine and woke up in the Eighties or early Nineties, in a really good way. I’d forgotten how peaceful life was back then, unlike the constant chaos we have to live with nowadays. Yes, it was really that peaceful and relaxing in Vermont.
Everyone at the front desk was very nice. I shared several wonderful conversations with Nora, who really made me feel at home. Tim from maintenance was very helpful and knowledgeable.
The weather was perfect in the second week of September, and the leaves had already started to change color. Several people said that after 2 weeks, the colors would be really spectacular. But I thought that the lush greenery with occasional red, orange and yellow highlights looked amazing.
I was in room 307 which was very quiet and although it was a non-AC room, I felt very comfortable. 2 days were chilly because there were a couple of showers but the room had good heating so it was cozy inside. 2 other days were slightly warmer but the fans were sufficient to keep it cool.
This was a solo trip, and I was a little wary of driving on mountain roads but it was fine. I had flown into Hartford from LA, stayed 2 nights ( I visited Yale University in New Haven and the Mark Twain in Hartford), and drove to Wilmington where I spent a week at Craft’s Inn. One day I visited Bennington, where I spent 2 hours at the Bennington Museum, went to the Battle Monument and visited Robert Frost’s grave and Robert Frost’s home and Museum. Another day, I drove up to Manchester and visited Hildene, the Lincoln family home. I also went on a tour of Emily Dickinson’s home in Amherst, Ma and visited the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library in Northampton, Ma (only an hour’s drive on 100 and 112 from Craft’s Inn ). On my last day there, I went on the chair lift to the top of Mount Snow for a little bit of hiking. The view from the top and on the way down was absolutely stunning.
On other days, I browsed through stores in Wilmington and had some great conversations with lovely people. I had dinner one night at Anchor’s, which was delicious. On other nights I ate in the condo. I bought groceries from Shaw’s which was about a mile away. They were really well stocked and even had Lactaid milk.
At the end of the day, it felt so good to use the hot tub downstairs.
I flew back to LA via Albany International Airport, which was a 1 1/2 hour drive from Craft’s Inn. Thank you for a great vacation, Craft’s Inn!

The Crafts Inn is very quaint older inn in the center of Wilmington Vt. It has several great local restaurants within walking distance and a few more a short drive away. It's a great base to go exploring southern Vermont from. It has a nice front porch to sit out on and relax on or read a book. There is a small indoor pool and hot tub on the ground level. The rooms are comfortable size with a full kitchen, living room and single bedroom, but could use some updating. Main Street in Wilmington is busy and can be noisy.

this historic inn was in a historic town. There were big porches outside and inside for resting and socializing. Unfortunately no alcohol outside. Pool was inside with nice hot tub but again, no drinks, The room was old but very nice and comfortable —- except for the tiny bathroom, We had to squeeze into the small space between the sink and toilet in order to open or close the door. The toilet tissue and facial tissue provided was more like wrapping paper. Bring you own. The town was a little isolated but we loved the Inn and enjoyed our stay. Free coffee always available. Recommend Dot’s directly across the road for breakfast and lunch. They close at 3. Also recommend Museum of Art Humor in town, pinball museum (you can play them all) in Manchester, and a butterfly arbarium not far in Massachuttes. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was vert nice. There is an elevator, small, slow and reliable.

Hi, we stayed at the Inn the first week of May and we had rain all week. There are a few good restaurants not far from the Inn. We like Dot's restaurant across the street from the Inn. Home cooking, good breakfast, lunch and dinners. We visited The Skip Morrow "The Art of Humor" Gallery located at 30 Not-A-Road in Wilmington. It is worth seeing. Had quite a few laughs. Also, we visited Hildene, in Manchester, VT. That was also nice to see. The Inn has listing of restaurants and things to do and see. Have fun!
