We have been staying at this motel forever it seems. I grew up in Bland County so we travel back there often. It is such a nice change from the chain motels that we have to use as we travel across the country. We were happy to see that there are now microwaves and refrigerators & new flat screen TV's....

This motel was pleasantly surprising in that although the outside looks very rustic and older, my stay was quite enjoyable, quiet and just all around awesome. The staff was really very kind and helpful. It is only 8 miles from Big Walker Lookout, where they have a little banjo band playing on Sundays, and a great store to shop and...

I have been wanting to try this Motel every time I pass by. I finally got my chance last night and I will now be making it one of my regular stops. The Gentleman behind the desk was very kind and helpful. He was also quite personable - telling me how he tries to run the Motel like his Father...

Fell in love with this quaint motel with rustic charm. No the rooms aren't fancy or updated but very clean and cozy, featuring a fridge and microwave, and some of the best mountain views around. Was very grateful they allowed me to stay with my English Setter and were very dog friendly. Totally admired all the farm collectibles and displays...

We had been traveling and my wife became sick. We were allowed an early check in so she could rest and recover. This a mom and pops setting. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Just off I77 with a few fast food restaurants nearby. For Appalachian Trail hikers, it is an easy hitch from the trailhead.

a real motel, drive up to the door, flop down on the bed and leave the next day. nothing special, but the only game in town if you are hiking the Appalachian Trail. It was clean, quiet, comfortable bed. end of story.

Love the small American owned motels off the beaten path. Nice rooms and beds. Clean and affordable with no breakfast. Stay here and save money, Eat breakfast at a good home cooked American owned mom and pop restaurant. Avoid the franchise places.

I can't believe that this jewel of a motel is so inexpensive. The room was Clean. It had no smell at all. There are a couple of gazebos you can sit under if weather approve. It has a rustic look. I could enjoy the surrounding scenery even if I arrived at night and left on a foggy rainy morning.

I was heading south well after dark and it looked like the rain might be turning into snow so I stopped when I saw the M O E L sign. I wasn't sure where the dark roads were taking me so I was pleased to find the motel a little ways up. The rates were very reasonable. The room was...
