Scott and Dixie are the nicest hosts! They bend over backwards to make sure visitors have everything they want. We arrived extremely late due to bad weather on the drive, but Scott was there to cheerfully greet us, show us our suite, and ask what time we wanted breakfast. (Full breakfast with a smile and many local ingredients.) Beds are... More

Scott and Dixie are wonderful hosts. We stayed there over the weekend while attending a wedding in the area. What a wonderful find, the accommodations are great! The breakfasts are some of the best we have ever had. Dixie I got to get your waffle recipe. We look forward to finding and excuse to get away to the country again... More

My three girlfriends and I just came back from a wonderful weekend at Scott and Dixie's cozy bed and breakfast. One of my friends is getting married this summer and we wanted a really special weekend away to relax and drink wine before her big day. Thistle Ridge was the perfect location! I did a lot of research while planning... More

The room was beautiful, spacious, and I loved the fireplace and huge bathroom. Thank you to Dixie and Scott for being so accomodating. We were in town visiting family right down the road, and this was a perfectly convenient and pleasant experience. I can't wait to visit again but will look forward to taking advantage of the additional amenities that... More

My wife and I are so fortunate to have stumbled upon Thistle Ridge during a weekend getaway for our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, Scott and Dixie went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the wine tour package that includes the room, tour, dinner, and a bottle of wine. It was... More

We visited Thistle Ridge over a long weekend in January and had a wonderful time! As other reviews have noted, the property is removed from town and is very quiet. The main house is cozy, with an inviting sitting area full of books, movies, and tea and coffee. You can take any of this back to your room or enjoy... More

If you want to be in town where things are happening---stop reading now. Dixie & Scott run a scenic and quiet family farm B&B in the countryside 5-7 miles outside of Bridgewater,Va. Yes, they have chickens, goats, horses, 2 llamas, and an assortment of friendly cats. We stayed in the Blue Room cottage(former-life a smoke house) with a very comfortable king bed,... More

My husband and I recently spent two nights at the Thistle Ridge B&B. Scott and Dixie were very gracious hosts for our stay. The accomodations were cute and very comfortable from the king size bed to the gas fire place in the room. There was a homemade sweet for us each evening along with an area where I could make... My husband and I stayed at Thistle Ridge last Friday and Saturday night to attend JMU family weekend. What a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Blue Room . We were pleasantly surprised by what Scott and Dixie have done with this old farmhouse. We stayed in the Yellow Room - they've completely renovated the room with a huge soaking tub (with handheld shower attachment), superb bed, and comfortable furniture. The property is located in a rural setting with all sorts of animals on their property. We met two... More
