Named for the 1927 Bristol Sessions recordings, this music themed hotel offers 70 rooms and suites with character revealing the history of the buildings and the Birthplace of Country Music in every detail. The property is comprised of three historic buildings - a grocery building, a candy manufacturing building and a granary mill. Great care as been taken to authentically renovate the buildings adding to the overall experience and vibe of the hotel. Gears and equipment has been left in the mill building, rooms have rafters and beams, historic windows, doors and floors along with exposed brick walls in every room. Each room is uniquely different based on the layout of the buildings and some rooms are evening the historic granary silo! The hotel is luxurious, yet comfortable and every detail has been purposefully selected to add to the overall guest experience. The property is located in Downtown Bristol, Virginia at the entrance to historic State Street - where you can plant one foot in Virginia and one foot in Tennessee at the same time! The downtown area is full of antique shops, boutiques, restaurants, breweries and museums. All of this is just steps outside the hotel making it a great basecamp for all there is to see and do in Bristol. Onsite the property features the award winning Southern Craft BBQ restaurant with a fabulous bar and outdoor patio dining, The Rooftop Bar, Simply Grand Meeting Room, Visions Day Spa & Salon and Star Barber Shop. Music influences abound at this property and there are various musical events that take place throughout the week and month, both onsite and throughout the downtown area.

Wow! The Sessions Hotel has it all. Perfect location for walking State Street. Historically beautiful and preserved but with all the loveliness and blending of fresh and new. The staff was friendly. Room was quiet. Bed was perfect. We slept great both nights! The restaurant, Southern Craft, has a fabulous menu and we enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend a stay at the Sessions Hotel! It will enhance your visit of Bristol and your understanding of the “birthplace of country music”.

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and overnight in Bristol several times a year on the way to visit grandkids. On our most recent trip, we decided to skip the I81 adjacent hotels and give Sessions a try. What a surprise! Sessions is a true hidden gem - we actually considered extending our stay another night. The staff was exceptional – it’s difficult to make someone feel welcome, appreciated and “at home” in only one night, but they did it. The facility is even more impressive– the attention to detail at every corner reflects the passion and true intention of the owners in the design and theme of the hotel. The use of old microphone casing for lighting fixture in our room was pure genius – I still smile when I think about it. If the comfort, quality, and design of the hotel are not enough – then head across the breezeway to the Southern Craft restaurant. Simply the best baby back ribs I’ve ever had (we’re from Texas and spent the prior night in Memphis, so we have experience ….), and my wife declared the same for the chicken wings. The attention to detail and theme carried over to Southern Craft. We also had a chance to meet and talk to a long-term guest while we were out on the outdoor rooftop bar (which was a surprise as it was about 27 degrees out and the bar was understandable closed for the season …!) He’d been there for several weeks and told us just how much he enjoyed Sessions too. I’ve spent over 2,000 nights in hotels around the world over the course of my business and pleasure travel career. Sessions is easily in the top 5 places I’ve ever had the pleasure to stay.

What a fabulous compliment! And thank you so much for writing such a thoughtful and detailed review! As a new hotel, opening in the middle of COVID we've been challenged. But having our guest write such great reviews tells us that as we get back to our 'new normal', we've done things right! Thank you for noticing all of the little details and special ways we've told the story of the property and of Bristol. We look forward to your return! #grateful

We travel to Bristol at least 3x/year. Found this gem via my Marriott app while preparing to book our "usual" hotel. We decided to try it out. Loved being on State St. within walking distance of shops and dining. Free, secure parking. Friendly, attentive desk staff. Grace always greeted us with a smile! Hotel has a very cool vibe and attention to all the details. Good job with the Covid protections. Loved the features that were maintained from the original buildings. Stayed in a corner King room in a separate, but shared hallway with another room. Would be great for a family but not inconsiderate strangers. Very comfortable beds linens and towels. In room Kcup style coffee maker with pods upon request. Large TV. Quiet room ventilation system. Had a little annoying problem with the key card from the side parking lot and the young man at the desk was professional and responsive and noted the issue. We look forward to returning to enjoy the roof top bar! On site restaurant was a disappointment, considering great reviews by others but overall, very happy to have found a new place to stay while visiting Bristol.

My husband and I were lucky enough to book a room at the Sessions in Bristol VA for the Dirt Nationals on Saturday March 20. From getting an early check-in to check out, our visit was seamless. Grace made our stay wonderful. The hotel is so special, with its brick walls and cool decor. The room was beautiful and so clean. The staff was very Covid aware and so friendly. I would definitely recommend this establishment and am looking forward to visiting again in the summer.

We had a Junior suite. This was a great room with a sitting area and had a huge lounging tub and a shower. The Southern Craft BBQ restaurant had some of the best food we have eaten. Great area to walk to the shops and restaurants on State Street.
