This is a favorite place to go for a weekend .Cozy luxurious rooms .Sumptuous food and and lovely informal afternoon tea. it is an hour from Richmond and we often make a Sunday brunch reservation and drive up just for that. The spa is a wonderful place to go for a manicure or the works.. Lots of holistic options that... More

The Boar's Head is a classic hotel offering lovely grounds, great dining and a beautiful health complex. You'll relax and feel like you traveled back in time. Decor and furnishings are comfortable and elegant. My 2nd floor room was large, very clean and well appointed. I didn't hear a sound all night. Paint splotches on window sills and scratches on... The Boar's Head is a unique place, traditional and very welcoming; we visit regularly and we always look forward to our visits, winter or summer. It is stunning in the snow and fabulous in the summer. Great food, great service, spacious rooms, wonderful facilities. We have no hesitation in recommending it. .

Last spring we were visiting UVa for our son. People told us the Boars Head was a uniquely Charlottesville experience. We booked one night but an oncoming snow storm forced us to leave DC early and stay a second night. It was simply amazing in the snow. The next day the tour was cancelled so we spent more time here... More

This is a gorgeous Inn with really nice rooms and comfortable beds. I am always there for conferences with a discount, so I don't know how "expensive" it usually is, but I have always gotten a great deal for this super nice place.

We had a friend visit with us for a few days to help with my wife who just got out of the hospital after major surgery. Nice atmosphere and very attentive service (maybe too much). This is a jacket crowd of local movers and shakers and well heeled travelers. Food was excellent but very expensive. Worth it? Only your financial... More

Dear Mike C, First, we hope your wife is making a speedy recovery from surgery. We are delighted you enjoyed the charm of the Old Mill Room with its 180 year old rustic, hand-hewn beams and flooring reclaimed from an abandoned grist mill. Also, it’s always a pleasure to have our guests post about our excellent cuisine. Many of our... More

I will preface that it was a snowy weekend that left the staff short and there were two conferences in the hotel. The person that helped us check, Johnathan, was a consummate pro. The spa services were excellent as was Ashley, the concierge. The patio off of our room was amazing. It was too bad the weather was in the... More

We stayed in a Premier King room (715) over Valentines weekend. I have eaten at here before but never stayed over night. We checked in and made it to our room. It was beautifully decorated and loved the porch with view of the water. (it was freezing/snow/wind so we did not spend tons of time outside) We purchased a Valentines... More

The Boars Head is a Hotel, Spa and Restaurant. The grounds and buildings are wonderfully typical of Virginia hunt country. Have sampled all. I do favor the rooms and the Spa, although the restaurant is quite good, especially for lunch. Every year I ask for Spa gift certificates because is it top notch and conveniently located here in Charlottesville. It's... More

Wife and I went here for Valentines. Front desk was fast and our massages were top of the line. Old Mill room offers high quality meals, and the afternoon tea, coffee and pastry services is a nice touch.
