This hotel is an outstanding property on so many levels! The management and staff are friendly and accommodating and they are very responsive to guest requests. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had! This will be my number one choice of hotels when I return to Charlottesville in the future, and I encourage anyone...

Fours years ago was our first time staying here and on first arrival we thought it looked a bit corny. We have now stayed here 6 more times. They are always our first choice. The rooms are clean and well furnished. The best part is the hot breakfast- always excellent choices and a great way to start the day.

I reviewed the English Inn a few months ago and just wanted to commend them for addressing one of my few criticisms (a dark, gloomy lobby). They not only brightened the public areas but they've upgraded beds and spruced up conference rooms. The hotel is one of the better lodging deals in Charlottesville, and its staff is superb. Just this...

I took a group of 8th grade students to Charlottesville and stayed at the English Inn. The hotel was very accomodating and the staff is wonderful. They worked with us on every aspect of our trip. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. The hotel lobby is very nice and is like a...

Discovered this hotel on our way down to Florida a few years ago. Since then we have been back 4 times. It has such charm and is well located. It is near route 64 and in close proximity to restaurants. The staff is very congenial and there are nice touches such as afternoon tea and cookies. The rooms are a...

Best value and pool, plus tea & cookies by the fireplace made the English Inn my new home away from home when visiting UVA. The staff did a great job plowing during 9 inches of snow this past weekend.

We make frequent trips to Charlottesville and always stay at The English Inn. This older hotel has much more charm than the cookie cutter hotels of the big boys. The staff is always friendly and courteous and the rooms are clean and comfortable. You can enjoy cookies and tea/coffee from their sunken living room with a fireplace that is filled...

My fiance and I were supposed to stay at a cabin for the weekend but we left the cabin when we discovered we had no heat and no tv and we were expecting a snow storm. We saw the English Inn off the side of the road and decided to see what their rates were. Gail at the front desk...

Our expectations for breakfast were high based on other reviews and the front desk staff at check in. We found the breakfast to be average - nothing special (VERY ripe bananas, bland chipped beef). I have never been to a hotel that had so many rules posted (pets, open containers, etc.). They must have problems with guests and that is...
