This facility needs a serious upgrade. The furniture in the room was broken and down right ugly with the finish scratched and peeling. The bathroom had no counter top and no towel rack. I would not recommend staying here.

Would you like to experience a stay in a depressing and shabby motel so that you would know first hand what people of very little means have to deal with? If so, you could stay at the Excel Inn. Although at $140 for one night this place is seriously overpriced. Granted this was a Friday night and the prices are...

The Excel was a good value. The price was very reasonable and the accommodations were better than we expected. We wanted a decent hotel that was close to UVA medical center, and that was reasonably priced. The Excel met our needs well. The breakfast pretty solid, the room was clean and spacious, and the proximity to the hospital was good....

I admit I was a bit skeptical when booking this hotel. I had seen some great reviews, but am a bit jaded about these things. I can honestly say it was better than even those positive reviews led me to believe! This might just be the cleanest hotel I have seen in years! The bathroom looked like it was just...

Nice, and clean hotel but the queen bed is really a full sized bed. Breakfast was good but it would have been nice to have some breakfast meats to go with the eggs and waffles. The (medical) rate was good but we would have liked to stay an additional day and rest up before the drive home after a day...

The hotel has helpful staff and great prices. The room was very tastefully appointed and the bathroom was also new and fully up to date. Examples beyond quality of furnishings: USB sockets to recharge your phone and an automatic LED nightlight in the switch plate in the bathroom. Breakfast (included) was also surprisingly good - they actually had real scrambled...

My husband and son and I stayed here during a college visit because it is so close to the campus. Room was pretty large and clean. Breakfast was included. If you are looking for clean and reasonable and decent location then this is the place for you! If you are looking for anything beyond basic then keep looking.

Positive: Smooth check-in/check-out. Spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed. Fridge, ironing board, and safe at disposal. Good water pressure. TV worked well. Excellent WiFi. Reasonably priced. Negative: Bad smell in the room, noise from the street (even at night). Unhealthy sugar packed basic breakfast (but better than nothing).

Trying to keep our cost per hour of sleep around $10, this was perfect. A comfortable king bed, spacious room with a microwave and a refrigerator; I doubt you'll find comfort for the price. We had the most restful night sleep. For most, it would be very close to the UVA campus. For us, it a quick comfortable overnight to...

This is definitely not a place to favor. I chose to stay two nights because of its proximity to the UVa campus, but in future I'll stay farther away. The room is small, the bathroom tiny, and little things - like a towel rack in the bathroom - are absent. The bed sports a mattress topper that is too short...
