Stayed here for one night, June 17, 2016. No air conditioning just one dirty fan. No working television. Only one window had a screen and could be opened. No extra's whatever (drinking cups, coffee, kleenex, ice, hair dryer, soap, shampoo...yeah none of that here) However the biggest problem was that the place was dirty and smelled bad. Said they had...

On a busy w/e in Floyd it was very difficult to get accommodation within striking distance of the town. This place is about 6miles out, but close by Floyd standards. Rooms smelled musty, we bought incense sticks which improved that. Toilets?? why are they sooo brown, some cleaning tablets and/or serious scrubbing with toilet brush needed. Its nice & quite...

Stopped here after 300 miles on the Harley. Sun baked and tired. Got a room which was great with the exception of water pressure for the shower. We were the only people staying in the motel. Restaurant has great food and closed at 8pm. quiet evening with the exception of a vehicle passing. Saw deer crossing the Blue Ridge Highway,...

When was the last time you stayed in a motel that had hardwood floors! Tuggles Gap Motel is loaded with personality (look for the bright red “Motel” sign when you exit south on route 8 off the BRP) but not wifi, micro, fridge, phone, breakfast, etc. Water pressure pretty low in the shower. Check in at the restaurant next door...

I spent the night at Tuggle Gap over a weekend recently on a bicycling trip. It is a basic, no-frills, roadside motel. The reason to stay here is the staff: the owner/manager was as helpful as she could be (I arrived late from a ride and she re-opened the kitchen for me and got me a sandwich, when I'm pretty...

When I arrived the baseboard heat was just turned on and it was a chilly night (25+ degree). The toilet was stained and the shower was small. No phone in room, no blankets to cover up in. When the staff leaves there isn't anyone there but u.

Great little motel right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We only stayed one night but the rooms were clean. Cell service is great on Verizon but only 3G. The rooms are being renovated and room #2 shower is small for a big guy like me, however once finished it will be all tile like the ones I saw in rooms...

I wanted to review the motel separate from the restaurant, because the difference between the two is staggering. We booked here because of price & location. My husband & I don’t set our standards too high – we camp regularly & are always open to new experiences. However… The website says that the rooms are recently renovated, but I’m not...

I cannot disagree with other reviewers comments regarding age and condition of this motel. However, the room was clean and warm, and the staff friendly and accomodating. The restaurant onsite offers good food freshly prepared in a comfortable setting. You cannot beat the proximity to the BRP, as it,s a hundred yards from access on Rt 8, six miles outside...

If you are into adventure, a fall back in time, then you have found it...smile! The wind must have been blowing 40-50 miles per hour and it was interesting that it was as cold inside the room as it was outside! The curtains moved with each roar or air, the room was clean, no curtains in bathroom or over the...

“Rm # 1 has good baseboard heat for drying wet clothes from motorcycle touring the BRP.”

“This was perfect for a quick get away, clean rooms and a time to revisit a bit of nostalgia that stood still. It was a bit farther than we wanted to stay considering where we were headed for our appoints the following day. It was a very nice ride and some really nice scenery. Now, to get to your point of interest beyond this location I would recommend going into the neighboring towns. This facility closes every Jan. and Feb!”

“Ditto to all reviews- good food, great location, but sad rooms in need of updating and for late fall visitors, the space heaters, (seriously!), were barely adequate.”
