Went there for a family gathering/birthday. We had reserved all the rooms for a night and had the living room to ourselves. Although the dining room was open to the public, we had a separate room all to ourselves next to the living room. The setup was perfect. We really felt at home. The "bring your own wine/beer" concept is...

Long established on Quebec's 'Gourmet Trail', Auberge La Mara really is 'far from the madding crowd'. Owner Daniel was originally an established chef in Montreal, and decided to practice his culinary arts surrounded by peace, quiet and nature. The location is near Mont Ham, and suits energetic outdoor types who enjoy hill-walking, and perhaps some snow-shoeing in winter. There is...

We held our small wedding at Auberge La Mara at the end of September. We had a wonderful time. Our ceremony was held in the gazebo, a lovely secluded spot amongst the trees. The owners helped us organize everything, including the célébrant. They made us delicious canapés, memorably including a homemade fois gras, and our wedding cake! Dinner was made...

For travelers seeking a peaceful retreat in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Auberge La Mara is an ideal destination. The inn is delightful, the gardens lovely, and the cuisine excellent. The location is ideal for outdoor recreation enthusiasts. The inn is only five minutes from Mont-Ham, a regional park with trails to the rocky mountaintop that offers sweeping views of...

Located in a remote and quiet place near mount Ham, La Mara is a place to sleep and, most importantly, eat. The food was simply amazing. I enjoyed the breakfasts especially. They cook with local, organic food as much as possible. I only have great things to say about it. You will not be disappointed. The rooms have a nice...

La Mara was recommended to us by another B&B owner in Montreal; we probably would have never found this place on our own. It is quite remote -- you'll even need to travel over a few stretches of (very passable) dirt road to get here. Once you arrive, there's no doubt you will sense the distance from any city life...

This beautiful little inn is a hidden gem off the beaten path. We are regulars in the eastern townships but rarely venture past Sherbrooke and had never been to Ham-Sud (Ham-South). We arrived late and the dining room was buzzing. The inn has a well known restaurant to locals that focuses on (very) local products. The chef came out of...
