We got what we paid for. It's a really cool property and was probably a great place in it's day, but that day has long passed and it's never been updated. I read reviews on here that led me to believe that even though it was old...it was at least clean, but that wasn't our experience. Lots of mold and rust in the bathroom, several dead flys around in obvious places. The beds were seriously hard and uncomfortable. The heater was SO LOUD we had to turn it off and wear extra clothes to sleep. The pool out front is all filled in with weeds growing out of it. The continental breakfast is a choice of two cereals and hostess donuts. And...it was $53/night including tax so...yeah.
Mold around the bath tub, pink tile, just very dated. Bottom sheets were fitted sheets that did not fit the mattress and would not stay on. Room was fairly clean. You get what you pay for. View from room was great and location a plus once you figured out how to get into it. Parking lot was torn up and rough.
Live spider on my pillow, dead bug next to the bed, dead fly in the breakfast refrigerator. This room smelled so badly I could not sleep. I opened a window, only to find that the window lead to some kind of storage, which had noxious or septic fumes pouring out of it into the room. Pubic hair in my bed sheets. Continental breakfast consisted of coffee, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, plain bread, Little Debbie's mini donuts, a little bit of milk left in a gallon jug, a little bit of Sunny D (not juice) in a gallon jug-- kept in a fridge that had a dead fly in it and appeared not to be defrosted for many months. There was not even an apology given by owners/management when I told them there was a dead fly in the fridge. Although there was apparent effort made to keep the place cleaned and maintained, there are fundamental issues not dealt with, causing most awful smells, and absolute penny pinching leading to absolute false advertising on the breakfast-- never seen anything like it. The pool had been filled with dirt and turned into some kind of defunct garden. The owners had some cooking going on on a propane stove outside that made the whole property smell like curry. This place turned my stomach, and the memory of it makes me nauseated. If you are the least bit sensitive to smells, do not stay here!…
The staff was friendly enough, and the room was just a basic low budget. But some crack heads was staying there and had their music playing very loud and was yelling til 4 AM. No sleep. The next morning we talked to housekeeping and told him. He said yeah we had some complaints about it. OK Why didnt it stop? Another guy leaving complained about it also & said that someone beside him had a dog that barked all night. Poor dog couldnt sleep either probably why it was barking. I think drug dealers and users should be discriminated against and not allowed to stay around other people.
The Good: AC, fridge, microwave, ice machine works. Clean room. Quiet location in a residential area, short drive or long walk to downtown. Trailhead for a rails to trail park nearby. The Bed: very firm, but not flimsy. Soft pillows. Low thread count sheets. The Ugly: dated room, pink and beige bathroom tile. No shampoo offered. Twin sinks are outside of bathroom. Pool has been filled in. Breakfast consists of two cereals and a bag of store bought donuts. Would I stay there again? Yes, the price is right, it was clean and quiet. If you have limited mobility, you make wish to make it known at reservation, some rooms do not have direct access from the parking lot (bordered by a berm and have to use steps).
