Penmerryl is tucked away on a beautiful horse farm, quiet and lovely, yet close to Interstate 81. Our room was quaint yet adequate with nice sheets, very comfortable beds and a very clean bath. There is no TV in the room, but we enjoyed reading and then slept very well. Their breakfast the next morning was lovely! Eggs with spinach... More

Nice b&b with everything you need. Location was 30 minutes from VMI and had a great community area "Tavern" for our group to get together. The rooms were basic and clean. Breakfast was good and the pool area and eating area was nice. The staff was helpful and accessible if you need anything. Price was fair and for the amenities... More

We haul horses nationwide and Penmerryl is our #1 favorite place to stay. Accommodations are clean and comfortable. The host and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Their breakfast is always amazing and served with a smile. The barn and indoor riding arena are tidy, in great shape, clean, and in good repair. Paddocks are spacious and well kept. Conveniently... The beds were comfortable but in need of some TLC. The tv in our cabin had a vhs and DVD player. The pool is nice but in need of some TLC also. The lake is a bit of a walk from the cabins. The trail that me and my family walked was around the neighbors property.

On our long road trip we decided to add a farm B&B to our accomodation list and I'm glad we did. The farm is really peaceful with a lot of horses. we came a bit late so they were not present when we arrived, but the key was in the door so no worries. The room is old, but clean... More

Spent a relaxing and fun two days with my wife, kids and dog here! Staff was wonderful and accommodating. Kids got to pet the horses and goat. And our dog loved playing with Trip and Bella, two dogs that live on the farm. Breakfast was delicious. The 3 bedroom cabin was large and clean. Highly recommend and we'll be back!... More

I stayed here with my wife and two teen kids and had a great time! We arrived around 4 pm local time (check in at 4pm) on a Saturday afternoon stayed overnight. The horse barn was nice to walk through, along with the hiking path around the lake on the property. The surroundings are quiet and serene, especially if you... More

My husband and I stayed with our dog Grace on June 12th. It was a beautiful location. The room was very comfortable. We were greeted as if old friends. The breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit cup - blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and canelope with creme sauce, eggs with sun dried tomatoes, roasted red herb roasted potatoes, and a sausage apple loaf.... We stayed here for two nights while in the area with our grand daughters to visit Monticello. It was a nice stay at a working horse farm with a wonderful family. We stayed in the motel unit, fronting the large, cool, clean pool, where we spent the evenings. Our room was comfortable and clean, with two double beds and a... More
