This hotel has to get a grade of F just based off their covid precautions. Most guests didnt wear a mask and one of them on my floor was coughing nonstop on while in the hallway. I never took the elevator cause I was too scared. You expect a deep cleaning of all rooms after guests depart but not even sure this room got a good cleaning. I found two of the plastic strings that hold the price tags of new clothes on the floor and I didnt have any new clothes with me so I wonder did they even vacuum the room at all. Comforter looked clean on the bed but when i flipped it over there was a brown stain on the bottom side of it that looked like someone wiped their butt on it so I immediately just took it off and put it on the ground as far away from me as possible. When I went to go open the blinds a bunch of dead bugs came falling down. This room was not cleaned good at all. The beds were as hard as a rock and possibly the most uncomfortable bed I have slept on in a hotel out of my last 100 stays. Room had a musty smell so I wiped down and sprayed disinfectant on almost everything where the virus can be transmitted. Hotel staff was extremely unfriendly and when I checked in it took about 3 minutes for someone to even show up to the front desk. I was put in a room surrounded by other guests when the hotel was at tops 20% full so I do not understand why they have to stuff us all together when we are trying to socially distance and defeat this virus. other bad thing about them putting every guest on top of each other is that you can hear every last thing that goes on in this hotel. The walls are absolutely paper thin so you hear other guests showers, conversations, coughing in the hallway nonstop and every last door slamming. I slept possibly 2 hours tops between not feeling totally clean and the bed just being terrible. Breakfast was as bad as it gets it comes in a little paper bag it is almost like they dont want to put in the effort because Hampton Inn right across the street still gives you a good breakfast and is way more on top of sanitizing things and the rooms at Hampton Inn are absolutely spotless. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone especially when right across the street you get a much better experience with a much friendlier staff and for a cheaper rate to top it off. Called hotel guest one time in morning because I was afraid to walk down there and bump into the guests not wearing masks or following rules and the girl had a major attitude. I normally like Holiday Inn Express as a brand but this one just falls short in so many areas. Will not be back.…
We stopped here on our way back to Pittsburgh from Florida. The hotel is relatively new or remodeled. The bed was comfortable and clean. The decor is modern and room was pretty clean asides from a lot of flies. I wipe surfaces and spray Lysol due to the pandemic and killed a lot of flies in the process- the light fixtures were also filled with dead bugs. More worrisome to us though was the lack of mask enforcement. The common areas, hallways, and elevators are pretty small and numerous guests were permitted in and walking around without masks despite signage indicating this was required. There were cheaper options in the area, we expected more from this hotel in terms of safety precautions.
We stopped at this hotel overnight during our Blue Ridge Parkway trip. What an absolutely gorgeous hotel. The people at the desk were most welcoming. After checking in, we asked for recommendations for dinner - the Mason Jar was recommended - it was really good! Our room was a king suite and saws very roomy, exceptionally clean, lots of hot water, and ample towels. You ordered your breakfast from a limited, but good, menu and it was placed into a “to go” container for you. Guests were social distancing & all wore masks. Great place to stay. We highly recommend this one!
Brook made a wonderful impression on our little family. She went above and beyond to make our unplanned stay memorable, during this challenging time. Brook showed what true hospitality is and we are truly appreciative. Thank you Brook for Everything!!! We will be back again! Oh and the water is remarkably hot which is wonderful after a long car ride :)
We stayed here on our return home from Florida. The hotel was remodeled a few years ago and everything was spotless clean & comfortable. Beds & pillows very good. We had a room that backed up to a hillside so no noise at all from the highway. We both slept very comfortably. Breakfast was very good & filling. The cinnamon rolls are so yummy. Staff very helpful too. Would definitely stay here again.
