We stayed here on our way to Grayson Highlands State Park. The room was clean and comfortable- no issues. We had coffee in the room and a continental breakfast in the morning. No frills, but great for the location/price/cleanliness. Would stay again for the same reasons. Also, the front desk clerk when we checked in (April) was super friendly and professional!!
My husband and I stayed here on a business trip and we were very impressed. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast was great. We have nothing but positive things to say about our stay!
Stayed there Tuesday February 24, 2020, friendly enough people, location fine, I had a pet, which they allowed, curious why you would make a old Labrador dog walk up a flight of stairs? Oh well, room clean, large, but mattress was like sleeping on a box spring! Horrible, to top it off the 4 pillow were hard too! The pet fee was $25 for one night or seven? Breakfast was limited, cold cereal yogurt and pre made pastries, didn’t eat, grabbed a cup of coffee and left, I was told by other guests ( appeared they had 4 rooms rented that night, that they had previously stayed downstairs and were pleased with the mattresses, this time they were upstairs and agreed.
NO MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE. Once a month we travel 4 hours to spend the weekend with grandchildren who used to live with us and usually we take two other grands who are more like siblings so we generally have 5-7 kids under the age of 11...3 of them are 3-4 years old. On this occasion, it was my daughter, myself and 7 kids. We come prepared for this with sleeping bags, extra pillows, our own towels. We always ask for a first floor room so as to not disturb others and are very diligent to keep the children in check. On this occasion, we were informed at 7pm on the second night that we would have to purchase a second room or get out due to fire hazard. Even though I did not have the funds to pay for another room nor did I want to split the children up since the whole purpose of our visit is to spend time together, I put another room on my credit card. We spent the rest of the evening together in the original room and some of us only went upstairs to sleep coming back down early the next morning to maximize our time together. We don't generally utilize housekeeping and take out our own trash, use minimal towels and we leave the room in a very easy to clean state. I manage a hotel...I so wish everyone was half as considerate when they stay. I understand the occupancy/fire hazard thought process but we are much safer together than apart. When I asked Mr. Jay if we were a family of 2 adults and 3 children if we would have to get two rooms, he wouldn't answer. Other staff was great.…
We stayed here for a class reunion and while visiting family and found the newly remodeled hotel to be very nice! King suite was excellent. Comfy bed and linens. The sitting room has a small couch, recliner and tv so you have somewhere to sit other than the bed. Also had another tv in bedroom. Staff was very friendly and free breakfast was simple but fresh.
