I've been to a number of big conference locations and this one isn't my favorite. The rooms were dark. The shower heads were really low pressure and the hair dryer was one of the ones on the wall that isn't very strong. The towels weren't very plush. The layout of the conference center was confusing. The first day I got...

The good: The staff at this conference center were all very lovely, warm, helpful, cheerful, very welcoming. Very nice people with smiles and hellos whenever we crossed paths. The bad: everything else. It's a sprawling concrete complex - exasperatingly long walks between the meeting spaces and your guest room - with imposing concrete slabs everywhere above ground, and miles of...

I understand that the rooms are small, but it would be nice to have a luggage rack. My initial room had a lot of ants on the desk and they just kept coming. The staff were not surprised when I informed them and I was moved to another room. There were a few ants in the room but at this...

Dear AKto900; Thank you for taking time to write your comments on TripAdvisor. The luggage rack is a great idea and we will give that serious consideration. Ants are usually not a problem so if you’d be kind enough to let me know which room you were in; we will take care of that immediately. Our food program always gets...

I understand this place was designed with an intent to force interactions. However, it so uncomfortable! From the maze of tunnels or endless halls of conference rooms, to the tiny rooms, it is just not a pleasant place. If I have to be somewhere several days, I don't want to feel enclosed and trapped. The food was just average and...

SEFowler, Just to clarify, The National Conference Center is not a resort or even a hotel and often we get comments about how comfortable and pleasant the environment is for a learning and educational facility. Yes, we are a large facility; but we have tried very hard to make as many smaller, comfortable spaces available, like the outdoor patios, fire...

I enjoyed the five days spent at the National Conference Center for a National Competition in April. Once I figured out the layout, signs, tunnels, and hallways (it did not take very long and I met helpful people in that quest). The sleeping room was comfortable and quiet. The television and wi-fi worked well. The fitness center is amazing. The...

We’re delighted with your comment, “if the goal is to encourage people to connect, the goal is met!” yes, that’s exactly what we’re all about. And we’re even more delighted that you enjoyed the food, slept well, and got a good workout in. Hope to see you again next year. Thanks again for the 5 star rating.

I came here on business and forgot how spread out everything is. depending on your room location, expect to walk at least 10 minutes to anywhere. learn the buildings and follow the signs in the tunnels. the first time i came here there was a blizzard so i couldnt see how beautiful the grounds are, very green and hilly. the...

My conference package included room and 3 all you can eat meals daily. The cafeteria style dining featuered good, albeit not particularly fancy food. The room was spartan but fully functional and wi-fi was free. It was a perfect place to focus on the work of the conference with many of the details taken care of.

Where to begin? The rooms are always 'rustic' so that was not the issue. I reported these issues to the front desk and they took care of some and not others. Bldg N Flr 4 Rm 204: 1. When I checked in, there was trash in the trashcan by the desk in the room 2. I received no housekeeping services...

I came here for a conference for several days and four nights. After flying into Dulles airport I took a shuttle bus which took about 30 to 40 minutes. The conference center is located in a very pretty area outside of Leesburg Virginia, but it is very distant from anything else. The campus gives an appearance of a college environment....

Dear DrKatieRN, Thank you for this very complete review. I’d like to address a few things. We are indeed interviewing companies to create a Wayfinding app for attendees that would tie into Iphone, etc. to help with the issue of locating rooms. We know this is a challenge, and we hope when you return, that we’ll have this in place....

The dining experience is the best thing to brag about here. The particular room I was given was less than desirable. Despite the room, the food was great, meeting rooms were really nice, and the staff which seemed to be a mix of really young and old were excellent. Confusing layout as far as navigating around and it felt like...
