We had a very pleasant stay, midweek. People were great, the room was very nice - clean and comfortable. Food at the tavern was good, too. The place has a lot of charm and the experience is warm and familiar.

Greatly anticipated our stay at the Georges, and we were nothing short of knocked out. The room (an upgrade) was beautifully appointed, the bed especially cozy, and the bathroom better than perfect with heated floor, gigantic walk-in shower, and heated towel rack. Service at the front desk from every member of the staff was courteous and always on the mark,...

Highly recommend The Georges. The rooms, service and ambience are all excellent. The TAPS bar is full of positive energy and Southern charm. An excellent breakfast included was a nice surprise. The staff is most welcoming.

The Georges is sublime. From the moment you pull in to the gravel parking area and walk through a small back patio and get a glimpse of the balconied porches on the back of the building, you know you're in for something special. Check-in was a breeze and I was offered a warm cookie before being escorted to my room,...

I stayed one night while visiting my niece at W&L and loved this place. The room was elegant and cozy and the breakfast was superb. The location is directly in the heart of town and a 5 minute walk to the university. Best of all was the awesome reception desk employee, Nancy. She deserves 5 stars all of her own!

The Hotel was very nice. The Tap lounge was closed which was very disappointing and surprising since the hotel was sold out. Would have been great for a rainy Sunday afternoon/evening. With mostly older guests, at breakfast no decaf coffee was available, it was made quickly upon request. The Haywood restaurant was also disappointing. It opened at 5pm and at...

Back again to this fun, funky inn. Checked into our favorite room, Rm. 14 with the soaking tub. Love the robes, bath products, heated floors, large shower, comfy bed, complementary water bottles. Enjoyed a very nice cocktail in the inn's inviting bar, well needed after a long drive. Breakfast the next morning was good, especially if you order eggs, which...

This is an awesome property. Reminds you of a small, European hotel but with all the amenities of an American hotel. Room was really nice and very nicely styled. A good departure if like me you are a business traveler and stay in a lot of generic but functional properties. The front desk staff couldn't be nicer, including Clarke Hyman...

We have been visiting The Georges on a consistent basis since shortly after it's opening and have stayed in almost every room. We have our favorites but have enjoyed all of our stays as each room is unique. With only 18 rooms, sellouts are quite common, especially on weekends so we try very hard to book way in advance.
