Bungalows are good, we tried 3 while we stayed. Recommend the one located at the highest point. Receptionist lady is a nice helpful Philippine with excellent English. Restaurant is reasonably priced, good food quantity, friendly staff. The only place on the island with 24 hr electricity.

Advantage is privacy; it is small hotel with bungalows located just on the sea frontline. Activities – swimming and snorkelling, kayaking, walk around This hotel and island itself are the place to relax from crowded cities. Hotel offers limited comfort, but electricity is available 24hrs a day, toilet and shower in the bungalow, mosquito net around the bed Really cheerful...

There are 5 resorts on Koh Wai, 4 of them are next to Pakarang, the other one is on the other side of the island - Koh Wai Beach Resort. Paradise huts are so basic you may as well sleep on the beach (no fan in room, no power in room at all, just a single light which goes off...

Stayed at the Pakarang for a week in a pretty basic hut that had a bedroom, a small bathroom with flushing toilet and a nice little balcony. But it had the most gorgeous view of the beach - but it got pretty windy at night and we could hear the waves crashing - rather lovely, if noisy! The food in...

We stayed at Ko Wai Pakarang resort coming on a day trip called "4 islands snorkling trip" which we booked for 700 baht, but we decided in advance that we would stay overnight in Ko Wai, which was the last island on the tour. The snorkling trip was great, but using it to go to Ko Wai actually was a...

This resort was more than adequate for the canny traveller wanting to spend a reasonable amount for a tropical holiday who also wants to get away from the bigger more developed islands. Koh Wai can be reached by a slow boat from Laem Ngop pier in Trat Province, Thailand. It is a tiny island with limited tourist infrastructure and no...

We stayed at Pakarang for six nights. We spent the first four nights in a standard wooden fan bungalow on the quiet beach. (Note that Pakarang has two beaches. The main beach is closest to the restaurant and is packed with day trippers every afternoon. The other beach behind Reception is smaller, but quieter - very few day trippers stray...

Koh Wai is a tiny island so there isn't much to do there but to enjoy some great snorkelling. I used Koh Wai as a one night stop-over between Koh Mak and Koh Chang. To me, this was enough as the beach wasn't powdery and, especially annoying, there was a large number of day trippers interrupting the peace and tranquility....

We stayed at Koh Wai Pakarang for six nights after several weeks of hard traveling through Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. It was exactly the tropical island paradise escape we needed. In fact my wife used it to recover from a bout of food poisoning. We stayed in four different rooms. The best were the wooden bungalows a bit up the...

“Pakarang and it's sister lodgings on Koh Wai are rustic. There will be critters and bugs. At Pakarang, every room has mosquito nets. Use them. However, do try to avoid the Connected Rooms. The walls are paper thin and they are right where the day trippers hang out.”
