Very difficult to fault this hotel which is in the most perfect position overlooking the square. Everything was faultless which included charming staff. One word of warning. The rooms at the front overlook the square and have their own balconies. Absolutely ideal BUT some nights the square can be very noisy. The Nicaraguans know how to party and they know...

Location, charm, passion That's the three words I would use. Easily in our top fifty hotels the Plaza de Colon is situated looking onto the main square. We sprung for the balcony rooms and they didn't disappoint. A few reviewers have suggested they're noisy - but with full wood shutters they are dark and peaceful with just a gentle sound...

We stayed two nights here and loved it. It was the nicest hotel we stayed in on our four-week trip in Central America. Our room was beautiful with the most wonderful, comfortable bed. I wish I could have one exactly like it at home including the bedding! The floors and woodwork in the hotel are beautiful. The pool area is...

A lovely hotel with a fantastic location overlooking the main square of this beautiful Spanish Colonial city and facing the cathedral. We could sit on the front terrace, drinking our cocktails and watching the bustle of the square, before retreating to the inner courtyard for peace and tranquillity in our large, clean, well appointed room. We went out for supper...

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this wonderful hotel, located right at the central plaza across from the Cathedral. The hotel is very well maintained in a colonial style building with a relaxing courtyard area. Staff is excellent, always friendly and helpful. We want to mention Nelson in particular. He always greeted us with a smile, remembered our...

Beautiful hotel in Granada with the best location in town. Gorgeous rooms. Breakfast is good. Sit by the pool and enjoy some beautiful quite time. Or have a delicious ice coffee at the Cafe which is part of the hotel. Totally recommended. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy beautiful Granada

First time in Granada. This property was picked as part of 3 places we stayed while in Nicaragua. This hotel was recommended by our travel agent with Nicaragua Travel. (thumbs up to them!) We opted for a courtyard/pool view room as they quieter than the street facing rooms. We were in room 216. The room was very comfortable, especially the...

Last week my partner and I spent 5 amazing days in Grenada Nicaragua. As a pretty serious travel junkie, I did my research and booked a room at the Hotel Plaza Colon. The place is beautiful, spotlessly clean and perfectly located. Our room (204) had a balcony overlooking the "parque central' (definitely worth the extra $20). It was fairly spacious...

It's unusual to find a hotel in the center of a colonial town that is so well appointed. The rooms are comfortable and reasonable size, the pool area albeit small is very comfortable and inviting, and the staff was extraordinarily attentive and personable. I would recommend Plaza Colon to anyone travelling to Granada - it deserves the reviews it has...

When looking at reviews, there are always some people you can't please. But I immediately noticed that this hotel only received 4 and 5 star reviews. And it is deserved. The hotel is a beautiful colonial style building with lovely courtyards and rooms. The welcome drink could be an alcoholic one, which is unusual but a nice treat after a...
