Our family of four loved our stay at Gutshof zum Schluxen and we plan to return on our next trip to Germany. The location is convenient to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, the Wieskirche, etc. but is a peaceful bit of heaven away from the tourist crowds. Our rooms were comfortable and very Tirolean in decor and the view was beautiful. We...

A lovely retreat in a quaint little town. Very helpful and enjoyable staff. Simple, rustic, comfortable room. Good food. The view is lovely: pastures, flowers, wooded trails, mountains - it's a shame about the large power lines cutting through the valley. Really enjoyed being able to step out of our room to a lovely hike across the border and around...

Top-shelf customer service. The staff works hard to accommodate all of your needs. We were quite pleased with the guidance and assistance provided as we planned our daily outings. They provided us with an Aktiv Card which provided free or discounted services in the nearby Austrian communities (e.g., Reutte, etc.). Located about 10 minutes drive from Fussen, Germany, and the...

We stayed in a family room for a couple of nights on our way down to Italy. Ideally situated for a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle - just a few minutes by car. The location of the hotel is excellent - very scenic and the Village of Pingswang is typically German/Austrian in its clean cut and well kept way. Our family...

The hotel was very nice! It has cozy rooms that are clean and bright due to the large windows that allow in plenty of natural light. The traditional restaurant is also a plus. The hotel management also lent us mountain bikes for the day … I say “lent” because they would not accept payment thus it I didn’t have to...

We first visited Gutshof zum Schluxen in 2001 and again in 2004 on trips to Bavaria. It was the only place we investigated in 2016. Now under different ownership than on earlier visits, the Inn is still a great place to stay. Out in the country a bit, but very comfortable and self-contained. The food was great (dinner and breakfast)...

We have nothing but positive things to say about our stay here. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect for visiting Neuschwanstein Castle and the Plainburg Castle ruins. The surrounding area is postcard perfect, so you simply can't go wrong here. Highly recommended!

We got here later in the evening and left early in the morning the next day, but the hotel was nice and quiet. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious and the beer was refreshing after a busy day. Breakfast was included in the price. Included scrambled eggs, and a variety of meats, cheeses, breads, coffees,...

Fantastic location on the Via Claudia surrounded by mountains and animal filled pastures. Rooms adorable Heidi like decor and fantastic breakfast buffet. Hiking and biking options. Bit of a fly problem in the restaurant.

My wife and I were visiting castle Neuschwanstein (the castle that inspired the Disney castle). Although it would be a little closer to stay in the small town next to the castle, scooting around the edge of the mountain into Austria allows you to stay in a quiet, self-contained hotel in the middle of a large pasture. The hotel restaurant...
