Everything just so good.We had the suite with an amazing view of the Canigou mountain, breakfast was excellent and consisted of fruits in greek yoghirt, croissants and bread, eggs, danish pastrirs, and coffee, tea and juice. The hosts were so welcoming and accomodating. Perfect place to stay in the region.

I had a fantastic holiday last week in Prades, staying in Maison 225 run by Sharon and Declan. The house, food, hospitality and kindness were above and beyond our expectations. The town and surrounding areas (particularly the Pyrenees & some very pretty towns) are all well worth a visit.
I went for a week with 7 friends and we are all hoping to return next year.

My friends and myself had the most wonderful holiday in Maison 225. Declan and Sharon were amazing hosts and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great time. They were extremely knowledgeable about the local area which we enjoyed visiting. We also loved relaxing by the pool. Everything was spotless and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to go back.I thoroughly recommend staying at Maison 225.

An elegant, tastefully decorated house.
Discreet and helpful hosts
We enjoyed the varied and generous breakfasts.
The house doesn't look much from the outside but the view of the mountains on the other side is very pleasant.
We recommend

Great location. Stayed in Lilac room with view of Mt Canigou. Tasteful traditional French decor and very comfortable. Hosts very helpful with plenty of advice on where to visit in the area. Breakfast was prepared with individual tastes in mind and was first class. Stay was relaxed and service was tops.

The reviews for Maison 225 are invariably positive, and, after having spent four nights there, it's easy to understand why. There's nothing not to like. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated, the house are grounds lovely, the breakfasts delicious and the hosts welcoming and helpful.
Let me start by saying a little about our room. We chose the Terrace Suite, and, while the other rooms were excellent, it was special. As the name suggests, what set it apart was a large terrace with views to the snow-capped Pyrenees in the distance. The centerpiece was the imposing Mount Canigou. It costs a bit more, but, if it's available, take it.
Maison 225 is in a charming old house close to old center of Prades, The tone of each room is unique, but they are all welcoming and nicely appointed. (We took a peek at each of them during our stay.) Outside, the grounds are lovely. There's a shaded area where you can enjoy a drink in the afternoon or while away a few hours in a hammock. Moreover, there's a beautiful garden loaded with plants and flowers.
Breakfast is included in the price of the stay, and it makes a good start to any day. There are all sorts of bread and pastries, juices, fruits and yogurts from which to choose, and eggs are cooked to order. You can also ask for meats and cheeses if that's the sort of breakfast you prefer.
The most important thing about any B&B is its hosts, and Sharon and Declan are among the best. They are truly nice people and that makes Maison 225 special. From the moment you meet them, you can tell the enjoy what they are doing. They'll help you tote your baggage and advise you about local restaurants. They are Irish, so not speaking French isn't a problem.
If you're visiting the region and looking for a nice place to stay, you don't have to look any further than the Maison 225.

The house is a real gem and our room was spacious and lovely furnished, with a very nice bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. The breakfast was outstanding, with home-made bread and scones, fresh fruit, yogurt, and croissants. Sharon and Declan were very friendly and helpful and did everything to make our stay a wonderful experience. I don't think you can find a better place to stay in the area.

We stayed in the terrace room for two nights and had a fantastic time. Sharon and Declan were incredibly welcoming, cooking amazing breakfasts and even giving us food for a picnic dinner on the terrace when we discovered the shops were shut.
The house is beautifully done up to a really high standard - one of the most comfy beds I've slept in, and wonderful views and light from the terrace. Even if we didn't love the area we would come back for the B&B itself - it's perfectly placed next to Mont Canigou with loads of things to do in the area, so we look forward very much to the chance of staying here again.

We have just arrived home from wonderful Prades after a week in Maison 225.
What a fabulous, relaxing and comfortable place! Our stay was top-notch in every way. Maison 225 is spotless, the location is stunning and the gardens are wonderful.
Sharon and Declan are lovely, friendly hosts. They provided lots of information on local sights and walks and recommended great restaurants to us. Upon discovering that I was a keen cyclist, they introduced me to the local cycling club, Association Cyclotrouriste Pradéenne, and I was able to accompany them on a couple of their training spins. Great, scenic and challenging routes.
We shall return!
